Terrible choice.. could've went with a taken boss as the taken can now take again... there's also the fact the nobody wants to fight a tormentor in a tiny bubble plus More reused enemy's that are only difficult because of terrible mechanics. Maybe I'm being harsh... I do find the nether sorta enjoyable minus that stuff...

7 RepliesEdited by TwinStripe9070: 2/12/2025 9:57:14 AMThere's actually a very easy way to beat him (if you're talking about the Trenchway Tormentor) - I beat him solo for the first time last night. [EDIT: Just spotted somebody posted this ahead of me, but this is a more detailed version of the same thing] A ranged, high impact heavy weapon, or something that generates good AOE is nice, but not essential. When the taken bubble spawns with the portals on the side, make your way around to the portal up on the ledge with the stairs running up to it (so that you're facing out to space). Don't just jump through the portal - carefully edge your way up to it until you just touch the portal and it teleports you and then don't move! The Tormentor and the 4 taken won't react to you until you move from that spot, and you can just keep shooting the Tormentor and he won't fight back, even when enraged. He won't even call the two Grim to heal him - took me about a minute and a full clip of the new machine gun ammo (plus about a quarter of the new GL ammo) using an Arc Warlock.

You'll see just how funny it is that technically it has a normal Tormentors health, once dead jump down

1 ReplyI don't mind it so much, now that I'm used it a bit more. Although I do have a harder time on warlock; who has the agility of a hot air balloon.

agreed. that tormentor needs a coffee break or something. calm him down a bit. he gets to a point where you simply can't outrun him to the next spot. or even to port out of the bubble for a breather. and then he summons his 2 friends to suck them dry and re-charge his health. running solo, it's a bit much.

"Tiny" bubble? lol.

Why would they design a new cool boss when they could repurpose a Tormentor and use their time designing Marathon and items for Eververse?? 😂
-
I mean.. you can literally cheese the tormentor. Easiest boss in the activity
-
Thought I found a good cheese spot but then his purple disc of death tracked me up and around a wall

I beat them using Rime-coat Raiment and Glaives. Constantly freezing and Shattering staggers them.

The arena is kinda well done to fight a tormentor tbh If it was just a flat arene it would be an issue. But you have multiple levels and things to hide behind if in need. So its fine. And he isnt that strong.

Tormentors are just so annoying
-
Never thought I’d see people complain about an enemy that telegraphs his attacks ahead of time. They also expanded the crit spot to work from the back so it’s much easier than any other tormenter already.
-
He's not difficult to beat. Just train him like cod zombies. His jump is telegraphed ... ray Charles could see the tormentor jump from a mile away.. and he was blind
