Holochip in eververse is greedy garbage.
Remember when shaders were single use and had to be bought? (A few could be earned but they were allllllll for sale in eververse)
Everyone hated that. You changed it.
Now you’ve brought it back with holochips and what’s even worse is they expire!?!?!?!?
After a time limit it just disappears, but Eververse has more for sale.
You took a bad idea, that you got rid of, then made a worse version of us to try to dredge the very bottom of the microtransaction barrel.
Scummy. Shameful. Greedy. Garbage.

1 ReplySo at first I was like...oh okay we can test something out before we "buy" it....then if you spent money it would be "permanent"....but it's not....you can buy THREE charges? So it's not permanent and besides the point that microtransactions will never go away...this was just sleezy to me.

It's called capitalism, it's an entirely optional cosmetic, if people want to buy that stuff, more power to them, I'm not The bigger problem is they are designing VFX trails when seasonal mechanics that we paid for don't work That's like spending your money on tires and paint for your car that's got a dead engine , priorities

I think holochips are wasteful to purchase (especially for a sliver only purchase after the free one) Its permanent after the 800 sliver. You can pull it infinitely from collections after you spent the sliver. It's not a recurring purchase like shaders used to be.

This is speculative, so anyone who's riding high on Bungie's hog, relax. So these chips are 8usd a pop. Got one for Valentine's Day. Can we expect Holo chips for the following: Guardian games, solstice, dawning, festival, rainbow pride, Chinese new years, arc, solar, strand, stasis, void. Including the Valentine's Day one that makes twelve. Our total would be 96usd. Now sure, that wouldn't be a lump sum, it would be over time. And it's just eight dollars bro, you'll look so cool bro. Just give them your money bro. They'll make cooler stuff with it bro Nope. No amount of money toward cosmetics like this will make the game better. And if say 300,000 players across all platform bought into the chips, that's 28,000,000us; over a period of time. Inb4 God forbid the company try to make some money. They should! But can it be something that's fun and additive to the game? And not just some retexturing of the guardian rank up that costs $8 to buy initially, and expires? Get outta here with that. Our wallets do so much more talking than any forum thread fellas. If they're available for bright dust, have at it. But we shouldn't buy this. More money doesn't make the problems stop.

You can get the same effect for free.. just load up hunter on a ps4, and let the lag take care of the rest... lol, just a bit of satire, please don't take this seriously. I'm not a fan of the new cosmetic, it's just a random distraction... I'd be very grateful if no-one bought one (so I'm thankful it is limited).

If no one buys them, then either bungie won't make more, or they'll just make them cheaper, hoping someone does buy them.

7 RepliesJust to clarify, once you buy it you permanently own it, you just have to claim more from collections when the timer runs out. Personally don't understand why it's a consumable and not a simple equip to use indefinitely, and to that extent why it doesn't go to modifications instead of our cluttered inventory, but oh well

Just remember Bungie couldn’t be bothered to make new exotic armor this season & they couldn’t bother to come up with a solution for the voice acting - but eververse is stocked full of cool & new stuff.

Would be nice if they gave an option to disable ugly eververse stuff like the trails and starwars fortnite stuff on my end of the game so that my strikes and seasonal stuff didn’t look like I played with clowns. I’m def in the minority I know, but I like immersion

2 RepliesThe worst part about this all is that you cannot even argue that the solution is to just not buy it because there will always be someone crawling out of their dumpster-house willing to whale for literally anything that Bungie throws up into the EverVerse store. Case in point: people were willing to shell out money for even the most bland Exotic Ghost Shells. Bungie used that data to create and sell Ghost Projections, which I’m convinced now exist solely to bloat the Bright Engram pool and help justify those lame Seasonal/Event Passes. Now we have Holo-chips for those people who need that additional visual stimuli How much you want to bet that they’ll try selling the old Reach/Nightfall effect as one later down the road?
