Enhancement Core is a legendary material that can currently be earned passively through completing a variety of different activities making them more of a common item than a legendary one. They are commonly used for upgrading weapons and armor.
Currently the main issue with cores is that they take up inventory space under the "consumables" tab since unlike prisms and ascendant shards, they have no stack limit. You can have up to 999 cores per stack and these can't easily be deleted as you can only delete them 1 at a time. (since they are legendary materials it takes longer to "hold" delete them)
There's also no easy way to spend them out side of exchanging them for other upgrade materials such as enhancement prisms which you will need to ultimately delete once it's full or run to a problem where you would exhaust glimmer for doing so.
A short term solution to free up your consumables inventory from cores is to move them to your vault. You can also level up your crafted weapons which consume 5 cores at a time but it also costs glimmer so you will run out very quickly.
With that said I have a couple of suggestions to solve this issue;
-Allow them to stack indefinitely. (or limit the amount you can carry similar to prisms/shards)
-Allow to delete per stack instead of 1 core at a time per stack.
-Make them a main resource. (such as glimmer)
-Use them as material exchange option for other resources.
This is a very similar issue to legendary shards. It's probably not that big of a deal to anyone including myself but it's something worth considering especially when seasonal content often introduces multiple consumables.

Not sure why they decided to keep these recourses that takes up inventory space instead of the legendary shards that was just a number. I got 28k in my vault and will soon have 29k. This is not to mention the other materials that you can't put in the vault. They need to come up with something for you to do or just remove it.

Every item in our inventory should max out at 9,999. I would save 7 slots for enhancement cores and 6 for Raid Banners.

So just delete them and solve your own "problem," without asking for a game developer to alter their game to allow 1% of their players to hoard cores for exactly zero reasons.

12 RepliesUse them then? My god you people hoard and then whine about space. If you needed that much, you wouldn’t collect enough to run out of space. Ergo delete or use them. Make a bunch of ascendant shards and max out your stored exotics. You people are silly lol

Put them in your vault, I have 7 stacks of 999 in my vault, no space issue in the inventory at all.

Sitting on 16K and growing way too fast

2 RepliesI have like 5 cores. Do you hoard them? Never leveled up a weapon?

I believe you are mentioning an issue for less than 1% of players if at all. Bungie has more serious issues to deal with Imho. All you might achieve was getting Bungie's attention to a problem not existing for majority of players and then "fixing" it with most likely detrimental outcome for everyone.

5 RepliesYou don't use them to level weapons to lvl 18 for the perks and lvl 30 if you have a memento slotted?
-
I dont see how so many of you have an absurd amount of these still when they are used very alot of things, Armor, weapons, pulling things from collections. I had over 6k stored of these and have burned up all of them on either upgrading or crafting things

Can these enhancement cores make you “fly”?

Legendary shards had all of that but Bungie removed them now the problem is cores taking up space....we just need to have all stacks hard cap at 5k that would be more than anyone would need for any item and would save space and would be quite the challenge trophy to max everything out every one wins
