Firstly, to Bungie. Over ten years we have all learned to play with one eye on the health bar and also the rate that it recovers. It is an INTEGRAL part of the game play. You blocked it. Why? Why? There are endless permutations of mods, exotics, etc. that interact with the recovery stat. They are now all worthless. Again - Why did you even think of this? Our time invested over the years always had to keep this one stat in mind - always. Now you take it away.
I note in comments that you, Bungie still have a lot of fanboys who are adamant that we should simply get good and that your game is still fun. May I suggest that your next move - seeing that they obviously are NOT affected or punished enough by blocking recovery and in order to make the game more interesting / challenging for them is to block mobility.
Slow us all down to a walk. No double / triple jump. I am sure they are good enough and will find a way (and still have fun!).
MAJOR EDIT: OK guys I get it! This little bit of info from the thread was the clue:
A Bungie Tweet? *With the release of the Nether activity within the Dreadnaught, we're looking to treat health as a resource that players need to monitor throughout gameplay. At this time, healing-centric builds and options (Weapon perks, Exotics, and Abilities) are not working as we'd intended*.
So, Bungie why don't you simply clarify "NOT WORKING as INTENDED". I am guessing. The real target is the Warlock Well, isn't it? It so happens I then agree. BUT.... you also broke my TITAN now.
Tip for other players: I retried last night... was much better and even fun discovering some old Dreadnaught spaces (memories). I put my sound off. Removed the endless panic caused by the sounds of Lorelei trying to Restore my health with a sunspot when critical. Helped a lot.
Suggestion Bungie: You did it once before. My MAIN in Destiny 1 was a "self-res" Warlock. Come D2 originally very disappointed when you removed it. Why not simply do it once more. Remove the Well. Replace and rework it (and the exotic armor) with something that even further enhances Dawn Blade.
Just think of it: A sneaky little hunter on the ground, joined by a mighty Titan with the Warlock floating above. Is it not time Destiny goes even more vertical? I would love it. As it is our enemies have taken over the skies with their birdmen. We need to take them on and open up our skies. Use the Warlock.

5 RepliesEdited by Rastaman (GRANDMASTER): 2/7/2025 3:43:26 PMAdapt your playstyle and don't go in like a rushing dummy .. A better ability regen is what is gonna keep you alive cause you can chain abilities , heal while using abilities mixed with an exotic and so on ... So stop crying about how you fail this activity and adapt your playstyle so you can succeed .. Battlegrounds in the strike playlist is far worse than an activity that does not let you heal wich you don't have to do btw . Of you don't like it then why are you playing it ? Go do something else ??? Jezus christ , some people are dumber than a bucket of shrimp ...

You’re supposed to treat health a “resource”. This means using things to heal like perks, exotics, mods and boons. While a lot things are currently bugged right now and healing less than they should, this doesn’t change much in terms of treating health as a resource. This activity is there most innovative in years. It’s a gameplay experience that can’t be found in other activities, making the Nether feel like having a reason to exist. It’s a better version of patrol. This has nothing to do with time invested, lol.

10 RepliesIf you've been playing for 10 years, doesn't that make you a "fanboy?"

1 ReplyMore excuses for hand holding. Get. Skills.

2 RepliesSkill issue. Just like in Crota’s End, it has ways to ignore the health negation WITHOUT the chalice or in this case boons. Can’t wait to hop on in a few weeks.
-
I really want to see everyone complaining about "no heals" try to beat prime crota. The forums would be filled with crybabys

What's the point of bungie having a live video chat with people who are talking about the Dreadnought before release and they not seeing issues before release is my question

23 RepliesThe difference with the Health change and a mobility change is that going slow is fun for NO ONE. The health Change encourages players to approach the game differently, and because they give us 3 times the usual amount of health I think it’s a equal buff to nerf ratio People are complaining about Artificial difficulty with the champions, and having to use Anti Champion mods, or having to use specific weapons because of Oscillation or because they are not overcharged as a bad thing, yet when Bungie introduces a simple change to the game that alters our approach by rebalancing how things work, people don’t like that. The issue with Artifical difficulty is that it doesn’t change the way we approach the game, rather, it forces us to play a specific set of options within the game, so nothing is changing except for the game becoming more tedious. This actually alters our approach. We have to watch our health now. We can’t just run away and hide, cause health won’t recover. This actually helps more aggressive builds, but doesn’t hurt the long range Andy’s. The way I see it, this is a good change and should be implemented into Patrols along with everything that the Nether and Derelict Leviathan did. Oh, and add Difficulty scaling or Private Modes and what not to the Patrols.

Edited by GrayWolf: 2/7/2025 12:00:10 AMHow many times is it now they've tried to make specific changes to an instance of healing within the game and broken many more parts of healing in general? This must be the 3rd or 4th time....has to be giving changes to people to implement who lack experience/talent in object-oriented coding where methods are defined in general and inherited or specific parts overridden meaning you have to know what you are doing i could go on...
-
That's a typo - they forgot the comma. It should read Health regen is not working, as intended... 🤷🏽 They even disabled the 2 Artifact mods that they created to heal you on kills. You can't make this -blam!- up...

2 RepliesIn this case, as an average player, you're both right. But you're both wrong. It sucks not having the normal health regen in game, but you can adapt as well. Took me a couple games to figure it out, after my team beating it the first time I went. So It can be beat, as I've had two groups do it. The last was the best. We wiped, but my Lost Signal round finished the boss and we all revived to finish. Anyway I digress. I found that the ceramic pot will drop health at times, plus the bright drops on the ground from kills will have health. You just can't be all gung ho and Rambo anymore. have to find positioning and cover. Area denial frames seem, so far to work great for ad clear. Especially if you get them on spawn. I agree it's not a fun game mode, but with a little patience, and trial and error, you can adapt. Get low health definitely work on watching your positioning and cover. Just don't be the guy I had one time tanking yellow bars and boss and dying constantly. Used up 7 or 8 of the revives. Maybe all of them, I don't remember the other guy dying either. I find Titan, with barricade, and Hunter, with invisibility on elemental kills, have a better chance than a Warlock whose ability is turned off. Unless ma turrets. So yes your right the mode does suck, but so are they that there is some learning and adapting.

2 RepliesI havent had an issue when it comes to healing. The issue is that your health bar is 3x as much as it normally is so the actual health increases look like less.
-
15 RepliesBro.. does seriously no one see that this is Bungie’s attempt to spoon-feed endgame content to the “its too hard” crybabies in the community ? They’re giving you a RAID map, with a couple of basic RAID mechanics thrown in. They’re giving limited revives, that supposedly end in a wipe? Idk, I never got to the point of exhausting all revives. For the people who dont understand how to build-craft… they’re nudging you ever so gently with the “no health regen” modifier… I was able to HEAL with no problem. There’s literally a boon in activity that “creates a healing burst when you use your class ability”. They also provided a FREE auto rifle that heals teammates and in some cases, yourself. Wtf more do you guys want? They’ve given you ALL the tools necessary to overcome the challenge, and so many of you are still too damn dense to even ATTEMPT to figure it out. Its like the second you experience an iota of confusion, you run to the forum to complain, instead of just locking-in & trying a new strategy.

2 RepliesI second on this proposal. I always said that this game is the most sophisticated iteration of a jump 'n run game. Basically Donkey Kong and Mario on steroids. Mobility MUST be taken away. We had a smell of that with thralls way in Shattered Throne. It just needs to be deployed globally. 😉👍🙏❤️
-
1 ReplyLol they already have slowed us down to a walk and no jump. The filthy bats that seem to be everywhere I go now.
-
1 ReplyWhether some is perceived as fun or not is highly subjective. Stop shoving our opinion down our throats. You don't like it? Fine. We don't call you an idiot for that.
-
1 ReplyThe sad thing is I can guarantee you all this negative feedback would be significantly tamer if we could use abilities to heal.
-
5 RepliesI literally soloed that pathetic challenge without even breaking a sweat, didn't take a single scratch, and was so caught up in my own brilliance that I didn't even notice my health was not regenerating like some amateur's safety net. Only after the victory screen graced me with its presence did I bother to check and, lo and behold, my health bar was as full as my ego, untouched by the feeble attempts of my adversaries.

2 RepliesJust wait till the exotic mission in act 3 if you think this is bad, watch bungie pull the same bs and have such low clears that even there precious streamers and carrys won't be able to help bungie fix the f up
-
I mean it is pretty ez. It's just boring af
-
Sounds good!! Hardcore streamers be liked ( a little joke )

9 RepliesThe painful part is it's only "blocked" in one activity, but we have to have a full meltdown about it like it's permeated the entire game. Do I think it's a good idea? No. Did I know it was going to be whined about the second they announced it? Yes. Is it remotely the issue people are making it out to be? Of course not. Idk, it just doesn't seem like a huge deal. It's something different. If people don't play it, they'll change it/not make anything like it again. See: Gambit.
