I'm curious on others thoughts on the new game mode. Honestly I feel it's a very out of place game mode for the game and haven't really enjoyed it. It just feels so forcefully slow, we can't use most builds as many things just flat out don't work in the mode. I don't mind the rogue-like activities I enjoyed deep dives, but this just drags on with way too much down time between combat and lack of direction. I'm not ashamed to admit I got suck looking at the objective marker for a good five minutes before just shooting at a glowing puss ball which triggered the encounter, the game didn't even tell me that's what needed to be done and it's not like it stood out either.
All in all, I think I'll play it when I have to for progress aside from that I'd rather wait for the next activity when it comes to getting loot, I just don't like it.

Lot of wasted time wandering around trying to figure out where we were supposed to be. I like exploring. This was… vague for the sake of us spending time spinning our wheels. The last season was a big time waster with all the tonics. Boring.

Seems wack from watching aztecross

I started jumping off the side just to end it. Poorly implemented

16 RepliesTook me over an hour to beat it solo. It’s genuinely awful. Difficulty is purely artificial, having no health regen exists solely to slow players down to make the activity last longer. The puzzles are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. No hints, no clues, nothing. You’re expected to go in knowing what they’re going to be throwing at you and you’re expected to know the solutions. There’s one where you have to blow up orange sacks in a specific area, the same orange sacks that are extremely prominent in at least 90% of Hive tilesets. A regular, typical set piece is now randomly the entire point of a puzzle, and there is no context clues or anything to indicate that they are. You’re simply expected to know. It’s the most unfun seasonal activity they’ve ever made, and I’ve played every last one.

1 ReplyThe people who designed this should be fired with zero compensation for being such -blam!- Morons.

It is terrible. Just when I thought D2 could not get any worse, Bungie showed me that it can become worse. A waste of a beautiful, well implemented landscape.

I hate it. Plain and simple. Doesn't fit with the theme of Destiny at all

It’s garbage

2 RepliesEdited by Touch: 2/5/2025 8:28:23 PMNothing screams fun like almost no health regen and no ammo drops, so I have to use a primary to gun down a boss level Tormentor for 20 minutes. Edit: To be clear, this was my solo experience in the explore version. The team oriented version is very different. The solo instance needs work.

This game mode is so terrible I actually think im done with it. And I’m normally the fan boy that supports the game no matter what. I really really wish I played the activity before dropping a ton of $ on the cosmetics and emotes. You live and learn I guess.

1 ReplyDon’t like it and didn’t have fun. Very likely not to play it again. 1-3 shot by all enemies and limited healing options, along with swarms of said enemies. Probably the first seasonal storyline in a very long time that I am likely not going to complete even on one character. I don’t think that’s ever happened before, for me at least.

Terrible

1 ReplyWorst experience I’ve ever had playing this game. It’s totally robbed the player of what we’ve built. No healing rift, devour doesn’t heal like it’s supposed to. Stupid tough enemies. Just not fun.

Sucks.. maybe that's why the lead ( last) dev left. Peace out home slice
-
I'll run it the necessary to complete the "seasonal story". Other than that I don't even care for the guns. Really bad activity
-
I’m enjoying the “open world” GM level content that will get easier the more you play it and earn the buffs on the seasonal vendor
-
Way better than battlegrounds. Takes me about a half hour, and doesn’t feel like it’s dragging on too long. It’ll feel fine once people adjust, or upgrade their tome
-
I like it to an extent. The loot is good, the game mode isn't too bad and I like the theme. The healing is an issue however. At least ratking gives you a full heal, but it's an uninteresting weapon. For me at least, the last two seasons were soo bad that I'll take anything

It definitely seems tailored more towards a fireteam versus solo. Felt like a slog going around solo first time around. Still, I like the activity itself, it just needs some tuning.

4 RepliesIt has matchmaking on “advanced” difficulty, which is the normal difficulty for the mode. And it’s definitely best played with teammates. You can solo it, but it’s very slow of you do. If you liked the coil, you’ll dig it.

Not being able to quit the activity after every boss fight is pretty... inconvenient (hint: it sucks). Let us decide how long we want to engage with this crap and not force us to do all encounters.
-
This is easily the most fun I've had with a seasonal activity in a very long time. I'm mostly a solo player and I find the Nether to be really fun solo. The rewards are good, the boons are fun (although I wish that they were more impactful), and the lack of health regen makes me feel like there is an actual reason to not make mistakes.

For sure, and not only that like if it was a little less it would be decent, but when you get to an area and you quite literally have 40 enemies of each variety spawn at the exact same time and attack you with the exact same time, and then you get a few of them killed just to have everybody respond again is boring it's like you're going through a gauntlet but you're standing still. They also need a vendor there so you can get little missions almost like patrols but just bounties you can do or something.

Boring after an hour like everything else in this game

So I shouldn't play past the first mission, where I got the artifact, and just play a bunch of Control everyday? Ok, I will, but only because you said so
I promise I'm not looking for an excuse to do that anyway, like I have for the past 4 or 5 seasons 😅
