Am I the only one thinking this

This community complains SO. DAMN. MUCH. over the smallest things and some things that aren't a problem. Every now and then, I see a reasonable complaint. But out of every reasonable complaint there like 15 more that are just dumb as -blam!-. Like I can understand why some people are upset about chatterwhite not being fully white, but damn it's not that big of a deal it's a shader we have hundreds and we'll get more.( Artifice armor could have been better IMO) Also, getting pissy and throwing a hissy fit because you had to do like what 5 EASY tasks that take barely anytime is CRAZZZY.

  • Bruh, you know how you gotta go to Skywatch and farm for the triumph? The whole reason that exists is because people found a loot cave that the devs left in intentionally in early Destiny, and the bickering between people doing it and saying not to do it got loud enough that they patched it. The serious and realistic tone of Destiny was what drew me in despite it being a shoot and loot in space, but I think the most vocal of the community didn't reflect that, and what has resulted is friggin' Fortnite emotes, handholding and pandering. That and corporate greed has strangled out what would've been a legendary experience.

  • It’s almost like the community is made up of thousands of individuals each with their own personal wants and wishes instead of one big collective. Shocking!

  • I agree generally but at the same time, Bungie has given this community a lot to complain about especially at certain times and its 100% warranted. They've done a poor job of cultivating the community, managing it, and building actual trust and respect. Ever since the Director's Cut from Season 7 (if you're newer around here and don't know what this is, you really should read it to understand how the game and Bungie got to where they are. Warning its the longest "state of" thing Bungie has ever released) they've been on a very slippery downward slope. Yes, they've had highs, some really good ones along the way but sadly only managed to accelerate their decline exponentially after each high point by removing what players liked, doubling down on what players don't like, then ignoring everyone, while also having an utterly buggy and broken mess (see Season 19, easily the franchise's lowest point from a pure technical perspective). For those who don't know or don't remeber, that was when the game was pretty much unplayable for almost two months due to constant prolonged server outages (one was almost 4 days during Iron Banner and a highly antipacted Nightfall rotation), 3rd party apps being almost entirely down for two whole months, constant emergency fixes, two rollbacks, and disconnections almost every 30 minutes across the board. Error codes were rampant and lots of gear also ended up being disabled during this window. Also Telesto being Telesto and making it worse. If you know, you know and I still don't understand how that happens. Legit the wildest bug I've seen in my entire time from HoW to Lightfall. Back to overall though, Bungie ultimately delivered too little too late far too many times and kept shooting themselves in the foot every single time they got something right. We were on track to an amazing sandbox with the way mods were set up and then they removed them after all the work put in to obtain said mods during Y3 and Y4. Huge seasonal grinds just thrown to the wind. Warmind Cells? Gone. Wells of Light? Gone. Cool strong interactions that required build crafting and changed your playstyle? Gone or simplified AND nerfed. Ultimately, I still am of the opinion the most damaging thing to happen to this game was sunsetting, the DCV, and the general systems direction taken between Y3 and almost up to Y5 paired with the absurd lack of support for Crucible and Gambit during Year 3 excluding the Season 8 competitive rework. The huge sweeping changes that removed so much content, gear, story access, trust, and more set in motions decisions that otherwise never would have been made that continued the trend of a declining sandbox and systems. Even story delivery suffered from removing lore collectables that fueled the Chronicler title which was really the first and last time Bungie gave any actual love to the lore community in game. They got things back on track mostly for Y5 and then ruined everything again with Y6 while also releasing easily the worst DLC we've ever had (across the board, story, music, art, all of it) while going silent and doubling down on what people didn't like and what STILL doesn't work. 1 step forward, 2 steps back. And sadly its been that way since the start excluding Taken King and Forsaken which is why they're so well recieved. Because they took mile long jumps and ran a few more miles after the fact before slowing down. Just go back and look at the franchise between 2015 and 2019. Yes, there was D2Y1 issues and yes things happened here and there but overall the community was excited, confident, and happy and/or content 75% of the time. Bungie was actually working, listening, engaging (most the time), and (mostly) kept the game's identity and leaned into it.

      • Agreed. Why play a game you despise so much? I’m starting to tell them to quit when they announce to the world that “ me leaving, game bad” post.

      • It's a lack of education as most people provide 'feedback' in a very nonconstructive form. Other part is simply just trolling and tons of bot accounts with no activity posting hate for a game they don't even play.

        • A shader that doesn't fit the color and time gated tasks for that, don't be surprised people complain with time gating for something that ends up not worth it. If this is how they give a shader, what's the guarantee they won't do the same for upcoming content? Drip feeding content with time gating

            • This bento box stuff may be just a mini side quest but I'm glad I could get a few neat items. Plus the Drifter and Eris back-and-forth gives me hope for a future tender cinematic scene between the two of them. I'm here for the small bits of wholesomeness.

            • For years upon years, people in our community have continued to promote negativity about the game. People are far more interested in negativity than positivity. Most of them don't even play the game anymore, and haven't in a long time, but what happens is that those people who left the game give tons of attention and support to anything negative, and almost nothing to anything that isn't. Datto brings this up in one of his most recent videos. The one video where he caved and got really negative about the game brought in an obscene amount of views, and therefore money. The video immediately after? Barely a fraction of that. So, people get rewarded for being negative. Then more and more people see the negativity in all corners around them, and start to think negatively themselves. It's hard to enjoy the game when everyone you see is telling you it's bad, after all. It's gotten so bad now that positivity is considered an affront to the well being of the community. Saying "I enjoyed this activity, I thought it was fun" might as well be saying "I wish that all of you never get what you want and suffer for it" to most of these people. Saying you enjoy the game, or heavens forbid, that the game is good, might as well be putting a giant sign with flashing lights above your head that reads "please start a fight with me". This is something that we as a community, and bungie as developers, should have fought back on a long time ago. But that's not what happened. The community supported it. They continue to support it. This content, both on the forum and on other social media and video sites, has been growing in popularity since d2 launched, regardless of how good the game actually was at any given point in time. The only way this stops, is if we as a community, on a wide spread scale, stop watching and stop supporting this pointlessly negative content. But we don't, and at this point I feel like we won't. Too many people are making too much money off of this content engine that thrives off of being negative.

                • Lots of people here don't even enjoy playing the game. Half of the forums is just alt accounts or private profiles (which shouldn't be allowed) or accounts that haven't played in months. There are also people that defend even the most outrageous problems in the game (diamond lance). It tends to annoy those who are typically reasonable. I would say that most people who play this game are pretty reasonable, but most people on the forums are not.

                  • lol nope. I honestly cannot believe all the crybabies crying about a shader… yes a SHADER. Sure it’s supposed to be like the og one back in Destiny 1 but still… there are plenty more white shaders to choose from.

I agree but love how much fun I get from the drama from some people over something so small. Diamond lance seems to be a hot topic with the whining groups. Just gotta laugh at them.

Nope you’re not the only one who thinks this. Players on these forums are miserable regardless of what’s going on in the game. It’s a lack of mental stability, life balance and proper perspective over a video game.

                    • All of this, like the entire event quest-line is MAYBE 30min-1hr long and most can be done in nightmare hunts or one round of gambit, hardest part is gambit specific weapons since nobody really plays gambit like that. People are blowing their tops over a 2-day wait
