I have been playing the game for over 6000 hours. I love this game. I love doing triumphs, gold seals, having rank 11. But this disgusting dungeon is impossible to complete even alone. Not to mention solo flawless. The disgusting random lightning on the last boss does not allow me to survive. Even duality was easier to complete. Please stop counting solo completion of the current dungeon for rank 11 and for the seal. It is disappointing and discourages the desire to spend time on the game.
8-10 damage phases - this is the most stuffy thing in a single passage of the dungeon
Yes, I have to complain, think what you want. I am a strong enough player, I have closed solo flawless dungeons except for the last two and reached the rank of ascendant in competitive play (by the way, I have no strength to talk about it, what horror happens there).

The stupidest dungeon ever. I saw twitch streamers on day one and just thought to myself. Oh deep stone crypt. Oh look more deep stone crypt. Oh wow look it’s just a watered down raid. With a really stupid health bar for boss. I’ll never touch it.

1 ReplyI refuse to solo dungeons anymore. Mechanics are getting to long and boss encounters are just way to tedious anymore. I don’t mind difficulty but when it just starts turning into bs and isn’t fair I just don’t do it. It’s just not fun anymore. Power to those that do them but I’ll take a hard pass especially after vespers host dmg fase.

3 RepliesI’ve done the solo flawless, hated the final boss, the rest was great. I hate how much health dungeon bosses have now I hate the amount of constant “radiation” clones are in there I hate the bosses ability to never miss I hate how stressful the damage phases are, too much constant enemies and lightning strikes. It wouldn’t be so bad if the lightning strikes weren’t basically a 1 hit kill against us.

I gave up my rank 11 last season. I refused to do SE on master. Mainly because, imho, the raid is simply not fun. I’ve done SE twice. I will not step foot in there again, unless hard Sherpa’d. Even then I’ll wager it still won’t be fun. I have a clan full of Iconoclast seal rank 11’s. Most aren’t playing Destiny 2. I couldn’t even fathom doing the raid on LFG. I’m not a poor player. I’m average for an endgame player. I suspect that you are in fact better than I am, OP. That being said back to the topic at hand. I feel your pain man. However, giving up my GR11 has given me a new lease of life in the game. No more punishing myself in Liminality GM to guild my Conqueror for the 6th time this season. F**k that. No more punishing myself in an overtuned dungeon to achieve solo or solo flawless. F**k that too. GotD was a slog, WR was full of bull💩 that could wipe you. But Vesper’s Host? F**k that. And f**k you too Bungie. Radiation bar stewards and random buggy BS that can cause a run to go south pretty quickly? I don’t f**king think so. I immediately went “nope, not soloing this 💩” after my first clear of the VH dungeon. Don’t get me wrong it’s a brilliant dungeon for a three man fireteam. I’ve even two-manned most of it. However apart from all the other bull💩, the bosses health bars!!??? Dungeon bosses should have somewhere between 33% and 49% of the health a three man fireteam experiences. But you keep on sinking resources into more and more difficult encounters designed for the <1%, Bungie. I’m sure that won’t have any detrimental effects at all? /s. Wait a minute…🤔🙄?

This dungeon is again throwed together on the cheap. bungie knows the radiation needs adjusted down. they have also known final boss fire floor is not balanced . they do all this to keep you in the chase increasing player time . bungie won't fix this game to help players . but they will nerf you into the sun and arrange content steal your player time. it's called business . they just happen to be in the software industry. there to blind to change and l wouldn't expect them to.

Post patch my desire to solo this dungeon has pretty much gone. Raneiks used to be such a decent boss but Bungie’s decided it wasn’t long enough so cranked up its health massively, with no justification why. As a Hunter main I was waiting for tether to be re-enabled to cut down on final boss phases but now second encounter is now even tankier than final. They really need to consider health scaling based on fireteam size at this point. I get the opinions against as it dilutes the achievement. Myself included, I’ve got all the emblems bar VH so I would feel the sting if all dungeons suddenly became more accessible to solo flawless. But there’s a fine line between a fun challenge and tedium. And let me tell you that spending an hour plus doing phase after phase on the GOTD boss for example isn’t it.

8 RepliesI soloed all dungeons up to GOTD. Since then all boss encounters have been too long and unforgiving for me to complete. Some of it is a skill issue, but mostly I don't want to spend an hour fighting a tanky boss, and with glitchy one shot mechanics.

1 ReplyIf you look at my emblems you’ll see it’s not impossible, but after getting solo flawless I didn’t feel like I accomplished something challenging, I felt like I finally got lucky enough to get through a run without the game screwing it up. It gave me Duality release flashbacks. I solo all the dungeons and imo this was the most annoying one, it certainly wasn’t fun and I have absolutely no desire to touch it ever again lol

So I just soloed them instead until Ghost of the deep. They made the final encounter have long mechanic setups, crazy high boss health with little to no cover, and particle effects that obscure the boss. I'm not even gonna bother with Vesper solo. The final boss has wayyyy too much health, the lightning isn't in a predictable pattern, and all the clones are nailing you. The setup to do it is awful as well with a sniper boss who doesn't miss and radiation. I got to final boss solo and tried for a while and just got tired of it. I do guardian rank 11 for fun because it's neat little things that I'm already doing and the solo is the cherry on top. Not with this dungeon though. And "why do they give final bosses so much health" you ask? It's because Datto and other streamers cry about dungeons not being hard enough. Also why they even have the day one dungeons now to begin with. That would be fine if there was fireteam scaling but there isn't.

I simply can’t beat all the bugs in this dungeon. I have 4 clips saved now where I’ve only died due to various bugs. I just posted another clip of the one that happened today. Thank goodness Bungie is aware of the issue that’s been present since release though.

I have almost no interest in the guardian ranks, they have no meaning. I'm Rank 6, have one Solo Flawless dungeon under my belt (Avarice), it was not a fun experience for me, I much rather play with friends and enjoy some laughs, and banter when someone gets the exotic to drop :)

I haven’t even attempted a solo flawless on it and I know it’s got to be horrific but it’s doable. My younger brother has only been playing for 6 months and he’s solo flawless-ed it.

5 RepliesThe Guardian rank system needs to go away it's a useless measuring stick . I've played with so many trash paragons. I'd rather play with 7 and 8. So many factors go into the guardian rank . Someone can be stuck at 9 because they haven't unlocked 100 plus exotics . Some people don't want to purchase a separate dungeon key. It doesn't make them less of a player. Too many times I'll see a lfg post ,be Rank 11 kwtd and the host hasn't even completed the activity . Best of luck to you

The Guardian Rank and Commendation systems were both huge waste of development time where they could have been making something great with that time instead.

Guardian rank is a trash system and should be removed. That way nobody have to deal with some bs like the solo dungeon.

7 Repliesin my opinion they're generous enough that it doesn't have to be a solo flawless clear. they should add going to the lighthouse a requirement as well. maybe add adept in comp to that list too. too many rank 11s who are awful at PvP.
