Why are we given seasonal challenges like kill x amount of scorn with void in gambit and strikes ? There are to my recollection 2 majority scorn strikes. Why are we doing this ?? I’ve sat here just for science now loading into strikes and leaving if they aren’t scorn . I’m up to 20+ attempts to find 1 or 2 strikes . The odds of finding the strikes you need are actually ridiculous .

1 ReplyI did the exact same thing a few days ago while cleaning up challenges for bright dust. I got lucky doing void and got a scorn strike twice in 5 load-ins. Then i wanted to do arc and stasis..... It was about 30 minutes of loading in over and over before i gave up. If they want us to kill certain enemies then tie it to the seasonal activities not strikes. It's been an issue for years with several factions.

Seasonal Challenges are fine. Bungie being predatory with them isn't fine. If Challenges lined up with the weekly events going on in game, cool. This predatory or incompetent way they are doing things is not cool. I don't worry about them anymore. Whatever completes during my natural playtime is good enough and then complete whatever is left at the end of the Season, if possible.

Yes if you depend on randomness and don't play regularly then it can be be pain if you want to get it done. However, there are much easier ways to get most things done in this game. All It takes is a bit if critical thinking and knowledge of the game.

I'm very glad I saved my birthplace of the vile GM until the challenges were all out so I could just walk in and choir of 1 my way through the first few rooms. (Or use whatever element I need to use.)

3 RepliesThis season you’ve got the Corrupted and Birthplace of the Vile in the nightfall rotation, if you want this seasonal challenge done load into an expert nightfall solo when either of the aforementioned are in rotation and kill enemies in the patrol spaces, lost sectors etc. until it’s done. This is by far the least tedious/time consuming way to complete that particular challenge.

The “challenge” is finding the right enemies to kill
-
5 RepliesWell, if it makes you feel any better, in science a negative result is still a result.

Edited by PipeWrench: 1/20/2025 2:29:05 PMI launched into corrupted when it was the nightfall and went to the scorn lost sector. It was annoying and boring, but better than waiting for playlist strikes or gambit to assist.

Truth .. if it was kill hive with arc that would be much more manageable. Lol

1 ReplyI lost intrest in seasonal challenges a long time ago for this reason. It's busy-work to inflate metrics and nothing more.
-
One would think they would prioritise a scorn strike as the Nightfall or something so that people could chase that challenge, but then I remember that this is D2 so convenience to the playing consumer is not high on Bungle's To Do list. I don't bother checking the challenges anymore and am pleasantly surprised when the game tells me I stumbled onto completing one. Must less stressful.
-
I wouldn't be too concerned anyway. The seasonal challenges are bugged. Even if you complete them all you can't claim the huge pile of bright dust as the game thinks there are more challenges to complete than are actually available this episode. Nice work Bungie.

3 RepliesI found myself doing exactly the same 2 days ago. I hate bailing on the other players but it was the only option to find scorn since they were just not happening for me in Gambit. It's not a great challenge at all.

This is why I don't Gild my Conquerer Title. So I can just select the best GM to get it done without waiting for Bungie's RNG. You have no idea how sick I am of loading into Birthplace of the Vile.
-
Nugget and tha third guy are on point with their answers. One easy way if you haven’t got the conqueror title, and one even easier way if you do. Really dumb challenges though. It takes between 300 and 400 kills I think. I’m not exactly keeping track when I do them, but the stasis one I got in one go on birthplace of the vile when it was in rotation. Had 375 kills when I was done. I’m doing the void one right now on birthplace GM, and it seems like a lot more lol Not everyone knows about the unguided conqueror work around, and if the intended way to achieve completion is “get lucky in gambit or vanguard playlist” because you missed when a nightfall was in rotation, it needs serious reworking. Either lessen the amount or make it so strike selection from director counts. Something. Good luck!

Yeah we've had this issue in the past too with other challenges and I've always wondered why they dont just allow us to manually pick strikes from the map. Arent we paired with people in the Vanguard Ops anyway? It also doesnt help that strikes/BG's seem to be on weighted rotations and said rotations never correlate with the things they put up as challenges.
-
These challenges were available when Birthplace and Corrupted were the nightfalls, so no reason to complain about RNG of the vanguard playlist.
-
The number is waaay too high for how specific the requirements are. If teammates counted, or if the number was just 100 or so kills it’d be manageable without having to resort to weird means
-
I don't know why.

1 ReplyEdited by Killapete232: 1/20/2025 9:34:01 AMPersonally have every seasonal weekly challenge done since the very first season it was introduced. It's at least rewarding to say the least, had 30k bright dust saved up since TFS dropped and used it on the dawning ornaments for all 3 characters. Now back up to 15k bright dust 🍻 To get some of these challenges done as fast and efficiently as possible try to post a FTF or go in with friends, when you get the strike you need just do lost sectors or public events around the map if it allows you to. For the pvp challenges try to run private matches, also for the kills with specific weapons, use a subsistence variant and run grasp or sorrows harbor for infinite spawning enemies.
