Revenant is TERRIBLE

I think this episode should have taken place following The Final Shape instead of Echoes. Maybe it wouldn’t have the lowest population in the franchise’s history. This episode has brought the game population to the most barren it has ever been. Beating out Curse of Osiris, and Plunder. Those were also some terribly low points for this game. I have played the franchise for 10 years, and the fatigue of the same 3 person cookie cutter activities, and your story telling has been underlined by the community with Episode Revenant. NO ONE IS PLAYING THIS GAME!!! I have run my clan for 7 years, and a hefty chunk of them have been with me for 4 of those 7 years. I have NEVER seen my entire clan offline at once. I do not just mean for a few hours, they are offline FOR DAYS/WEEKS at a time!!! My community has no desire to play Onslaught, or Contest of Elders. We don’t like your Kell’s Vengeance “variant” of it, either. The exotic mission is short and unbelievably boring. Most people don’t like Crow as a character, let alone to continue a 6 year old storyline no one can even play the origin for to understand, and thus they are not even interested in it at all. It’s a shame what you have done to this game. The magic is gone. You really need to give this game a face lift because the population is on life support right now.. ENOUGH with the new destinations when your existing one are a giant waste of game data. There is no point in ever going to a planet, EVER. No one I know starts the game to go patrol a planet. Absolutely no one. The planets in the game need a facelift. The 3 - Person model is 10 years old and needs to change into something more. Season of The Drifter gave us The Reckoning which was a 4 person activity. GREAT! DO IT AGAIN!!!! This game needs a new activity in that 4 player model. On that note, it has been almost 2 years and there is still no new 6 player activity in the game. Here is a brilliant idea - ADD EVERY PAST 6 PLAYER SEASONAL ACTIVITY TO THE NEW “DARES OF ETERNITY PLAYLIST” Season of Opulence - The Menagerie, Season of Undying - Vex Offensive, Season of Dawn - Sundial, Season of The Splicer - Override, Season of The Lost - Astral Alignment, Season of The Deep - Salvage. Instead of pushing the data for all of these activities to the consumers storage, Bungie can host these activities internally on their own servers. I’m not in your field of work, but I’m POSITIVE you all can find a way to make this work. TAKE YOUR THUMB OUT YOUR BUM AND MAKE DESTINY GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!

  • 110+ up votes, the most in the Feedback Category, and yet this post has somehow been pushed like a page down the list. Was top of the list for 3 days straight lol I wonder if someone at bungie os upset by seeing how much we hate this season?? 🤣

To those claiming Episode Echoes is worse than Episode Revenant you need your head examined. Allow me to break down the two episodes… EPISODE ECHOES In this episode’s 3 Acts we had 9 weekly story missions that each took MORE than 10 minutes to complete. EPISODE REVENANT In this episode’s 3 acts we had 3 weekly story missions that took LESS than 5 minutes to complete. Over-All Weekly Story Content Winner: Episode Echoes! EPISODE ECHOES In the first act we had 2 NEW activities. The first is Breach Executable: an activity that has 4 possible objectives that the game would select 2 of those 4 objectives randomly on the start of each new run. The second NEW activity in Echoes is called Enigma Protocol. EPISODE REVENANT In the first act of Revenant we get 3 ‘new’ maps for the existing activity Onslaught. This activity is one that most people have burned themselves out on by playing it so much in the 4 month delay before the launch of The Final Shape. This activity is also listed by Bungie as Revenant’s ‘seasonal activity.’ Over-All Seasonal/Episode Activity Content Winner: Episode Echoes! EPISODE ECHOES Act 2 presents the player with another activity, Battleground’s which were 3 unique strike-like missions that were built to add another layer of story on top of the weekly missions. EPISODE REVENANT Act two gave us Contest of Elders which is an unoriginal mode. Anyone who played Destiny 1 remembers Prison of Elders and this is just the Coke Zero version of that. Nothing unique or interesting about its design, mechanics, or play spaces. It all felt the same as it did in Destiny 1. Over-All Act 2 Content Winner: Episode Echoes! EPISODE ECHOES Act 3 gave us a new Exotic Mission with depth and a thoroughly thought out design in Encore. The exotic mission’s mechanics were NEW just like the environments you traverse. The story told throughout the mission helped to flesh out the over-all story of Echoes and give more insight to a new(er) character, Maya Sundaresh. EPISODE REVENANT Act 3 gave us a new, and much SHORTER exotic mission built to wrap up a 6 year old story that practically no one who is playing the game today would know much about unless they look it up on YouTube. Pretty sure no one cared about Fikrel and the other Scorn Barons, either. No one who has been playing since Beyond Light will have any clue as to what happened during Forsaken. Oh, then there’s the “Kell’s Vengeance” version of your cheap Contest of Elders which is a JOKE. My group and I beat that in less than 15 minutes on average… HA Over-All Act 3 Content Winner: Episode…erm, well… this one is a tie. As much as I like Encore MORE than I do Kell’s Fall, I think it’s safe to say that an exotic mission as an Act 3 content drop is a lackluster idea… Point I am trying to make is that there is more effort, care, thought, and originality put into Episode Echoes than there was in Episode Revenant. This is the most bare bones episode in terms of story and content I have witnessed in 10 years of this franchise….

      • Revenants OK tbh but not being able to craft weapons is a real bummer and should of never been removed. Onslaught is fine and is what the playerbase asked for ,brave weapons are also great, legend is a bit much difficulty wise considering its waves without much of a break in between rounds Seasonal story depends on the player tbh for myself i enjoyed revenant even the playlists except the 2040 kells vengeance. Last season I wasn't fond atall of the whole osiris and saint love story it felt really forced and un needed to progress the story for last season and hurt the playerbase count Exotic revenant shotgun mission was good ,how to unlock catalyst was cool aswel .shotgun is awesome with the right build and hits like a truck in pve Nerfs to alot of builds and difficulty increases to some content especially within the season has pushed alot of players away ,so makes it hard to recommend for new lights (Main problems we're perk weight gating ,Christmas event being broken, seasonal quests and parts in the exotic missions broken ,tonics being broken, cheaters in pvp which sucks to admit isn't completely bungies fault but the mm is, older subclasses getting buffs which were great then being nerfed again for no reason, error codes/booted out of content that has no checkpoint ,dungeons even on normal getting harder and bosses being bullet sponges that kick out insane damage like vespers host last boss, destiny duo mission which would of been a success if it didn't rely on strict callouts on mics and was more like a dungeon where one player can do the mechanics, latest raid on contest mode and after having really low clears with ugly af armor, gl backfiring in guardians faces during solo runs ,rewards for endgame like artifice armor having really low stat's ,kells vengeance having really low clear numbers on content alot of players would like to enjoy when it was released myself included and lastly the final shape boss for alot of players that normally do legend campaign was an issue for some because difficulty or just as annoying to do as calus for lightfall, which lightfall should of been an eye opener that the difficulty spike was not liked by majority of players .) (All problems in brackets above were all one after another which did not help player morality atall) I do wonder though why d2 streamers are moving to other games and trying to take there fans with them to other games aswell ,since the game has been more catered towards them as of recent. The only high point was into the light with the shiny weapons and during Halloween because of the class items which bungie should of continued this trend for dawning ,plus the auto rifle from Halloween having Rewind rounds with kinetic tremors was a great idea by bungie and really made the pursuit for that roll worth it 👌

This and last season just showed me that the developers got lazy and understaffed to the point I have literally no hope for frontiers each year these season been getting smaller and smaller to the point we got to get 2 small year expansions in place for one big one it reached the point all seasonal activities feel the same with no story and engagement creativity like some man 5-6activities or a 4man strike or dungeons I'm sorry but this ridiculous amount of 3man activities need to stop, we can get up to 6man teams yet we still doing 3 or 6man activities no 4-5 not to mention they even stop doing seasonal activities in the Open World while making the game tedious for underwhelming loot that you most like have three different variations of in your vault and don't me started on exotics the mods in the seasonal relics feel more exotic then our armor do.

      • I’m honestly tired of the seasonal model. Nothing they create for it sticks around, and it’s all rushed, copy pasta content that’s just stale now. They need a model that lets them innovate and expand on content in the game already instead of content that’s just slated for removal and a gimmick like this season was based on being a monster slayer slaying “monsters” we already killed. Like come on Bungie how many times do I need to kill the machinest.

      • Honestly the first time I’m not getting the seasonal seal title onslaught salvation is utterly boring and goes on for to long in my opinion even the 10 wave is boring.

      • The lack of crafting hurt a lot of people’s desires to play I think. Feels much worse to just pray you get the roll you want.

This is the worst seasonal grind since Drifter. Removal of crafting for seasonal weapons was the worst possible idea, especially now. I used to chase all weapons for the patterns and then I had on demand stuff to play around and experiment with for fun during down time. Instead I only chased 3 weapons this whole season and they are all less than desirable rolls. Absolutely nothing about that feels good or is fun AT ALL.

        • this is what happens when the suits consider the franchise a permanent loser as far as increasing revenue they bring in the D team who blindly applies metrics building tedious systems all over the place, a team who has no goal other than manipulating the playerbase with a sledgehammer they go too far and participation drops off a cliff thing still makes an obscene amount of profit, but suits act like it is struggling and must be stripmined for player cash our destiny future is the grind/metrics guys constantly pushing our boundaries to find out how much they can extract from us before we give up

Something is DEEPLY wrong when even Cyberpunk can reach over three times more players than Destiny 2 on PC. Destiny 2 - 9,961 Cyberpunk - 29,916 Warframe - 47,282 Destiny right now is as good as a dead game, considering that it's a live game. Btw, I stopped playing because they removed crafting completely.

          • Not necessarily the seasons fault that player numbers are dropping like flies. Player sentiment is at an all time low cause of the conclusion with final shape, that probably cut the players who are willing to stick around in half. Next thing was the announcement of no big DLC going forward. No proper future for the game to look forward to. Next reason is that Bungie exclusively listens to elitist minority and structures their entire content around that vocal minority nowadays. A trash season is just the icing on top if you asked me. Game has had its death sentence signed so people leave. If the dev doesnt care about the game anymore, why should we? Just to waste money to finance the suits next yacht? Nah, im good. I spend my money on games with passionate devs now.

          • Yep. Agree. The person who came up with the idea to kill off Cayde should never be allowed near any decision making process again. Crow is the most boring character ever.

I would ve been fine if they said will launch the new saga in 2 years and until then will bring back all content from the dcv, reorganize the gamea structure, update the core playlist and make destiny a complete package again. Create new events and not have the same one for the 6th time in row...

            • To be fair, destiny didn't really have any competition before and refused to innovate and now that there are actual games innovating, it was pretty much the the straw that broke the camels back for the game and it's community. They have done nothing and expected everything. Frontiers will most likely be the last update for D2, and Marathon is just set up to fail. If you want an extraction shooter game, you'll be competing against The Division 2..... and they have a whole decade worth unvaulted activities.

I don’t really want Astral Alignment, and salvage, they were very boring for me.

            • It’s a mid season for sure, but not one of the best. Story wise, there were a few issues: - The implementation of the no-time gating dropped some of the storylines - Problems with lost mission dialogue on Eido’s fieldwork tasks that people can’t redo - The scorn and their plotlines again were swallowed up by the Fallen ones. This leaves the scorn to be much weaker narratively and in-turn worse villains. Gameplay Wise, the activities were solid. - More onslaught - Tomb of Elders is a great activity - Exotic mission is solid but not amazing - on par with last season’s. - Dungeon is one of the best to date. Rewards wise, it was a fail - Onslaught and the exotic mission aren’t overly rewarding on their own - The Tonic system is a disaster - No crafting isn’t in itself a negative, but rewards need to be more plentiful to compensate for/justify it. Overall it’s a B-tier season. - Gameplay and what actual story we got were good. - Rewards were really bad + story implementation and focus to heavily on the fallen and not the scorn made the threat/villain fall flat.
