1 ReplyAlso, KWTD means “know what to do” or get verbal abuse and kicked

3 RepliesThey have a mic. They just don't wanna use it.

1 ReplyI do the same thing and I'm still amazed at how many stupid people still join but don't communicate at all! Not having a mic is fine if you at least use chat, it's just ignorant to go into a pinnacle endgame activity expecting people to do everything. I've had some people have no idea what to do but still don't communicate and just kill ads, instant kick! I've only been doing raids for about a year, it's just common sense to look up a guide and communicate. Just say you don't know what to do or kinda know what to do from a video, most people are fine with teaching.

3 RepliesEdited by King: 1/18/2025 1:49:20 PMI’ll do you one better. “Looking for Experts” “I’ve never done this encounter before.” 😐

I miss old days “ Have Izzy or kick, have Div or kick” 😂

3 RepliesIf I join a LFG that says "mic required", I will usually ask the raid leader if I can be off mic if I can't talk. If they give me the green light I'll run (I usually have to send my raid report to show them I know what I'm doing). If they give me a red light I just wish them luck and off I go. No harm no foul.

2 RepliesI mainly teach raids as my form of entertainment in game (over 50 in DSC alone, and around 70ish combined with other raids) and I usually use this system: I ask if everyone has a mic, wait for everyone to answer, if someone doesn’t I ask if they have a mic, if still nothing after about 15-30 seconds, I explain exactly why I require a mic, and state that I’m giving them a minute to find their mic and plug it in. If still no mic then kick. The only exception is if someone is very fast with their typing, then I will accept that as a substitute.

You know I always thought that those fireteams required players called Michael but were too lazy to write their whole name.

1 ReplyIt's funny how many down votes this has gotten, yet everyone seems to agree with OP.

18 RepliesTHANK YOU, SOMEBODY FINALLY GETS IT. PUT ON MIC YOU SOCIALLY AWKWARD PLAYERS

2 RepliesI always have a script handy whenever I require a mic in my fireteams. I've used it so much now it's baked into my brain. As soon as people ready up, (which let's be honest, people should at least test their mics to ensure they're working before hitting the ready up button) I always give them a friendly greeting. If they don't reply after about 10 seconds of waiting, I ask if they have a mic. if another 10 to 15 seconds pass without them speaking, I inform them about the mic requirement, and if they don't plug one in, that they need to leave. Then if they don't leave or talk to me for another 15 to 20 seconds, I tell them to read the post next time, and kick em. So in total I give most people a good 30 to 45 seconds to remember what a mic is and use it. Sometimes they do rejoin after being kicked. If this happens, I ask them by name if they have a mic this time. And if they still remain silent for another 15 to 20 seconds, then I block em and kick em once again. For those who aren't aware, blocking someone prevents them from joining any of your future fireteam finder posts. It's a good way to prevent repeat offenders from joining your posts and wasting your time. Also, I do encounter these people who think they're real cute from time to time. People who will plug in their mic and blow into it to show it works, but refuse to speak, even after the content has started. If you do this in any of my fireteam finder posts, I will treat you as not having a mic and kick you. I honestly don't care how good you are at the content we're attempting. If the post says "Mic Required", either plug in a mic and speak English or get lost. Tldr: My fireteam, my rules. If you don't like my rules, don't join my fireteam. It's literally that simple. And to the people who complain about game chat not working, if this happens to me, I always quit out of the game and hold down the power button for about 8 seconds to reset the console. 9/10 times this resolves the issue on my end, and I can hear most people just fine afterwards. If it doesn't work, then I just wait till tomorrow, and comms seem to work fine by then.

1 ReplyI am deaf. I have keyboard. Would that count?
I put this in every raid I do, and YET SO MANY PEOPLE JOIN WITH NO MIC
I joined without a mic. Get kicked out. Rejoin. Repeat. But I agree, thing is not everyone has mastered the skill of reading. Kwtd, yeah that ain't me either. I usually join randoms when attempting strikes, do type message if the group is ok with a heavy mute potatoe tho. Some of you guys really could do without a guy that will drain all the revives right? Just be polite, or booth.

Edited by UnleashedArcher: 1/18/2025 4:28:37 PMI like it when the people who post KWTD, don't know what to do. That's my personal favorite For the mic, I don't get it. You just need at a min to say yes or no depending on the activity. It ain't hard

2 Repliesagain bungie needs to make mechanic's no mic required . problem solved. I'm surprised bungie is still in business way to competitive of a market to get bent up over making things dull and boring with cluster throwed together mechanics that players have zero fun doing ,plus listening to purple haired Karen's explain the same thing ten thousand times that it makes you leave the game for shear bordum .

The fact that in this day and age that the thought that a mic is even optional is absolutely mind blowing. I'll do you one even better. If people don't use discord they don't get to join. Especially because we have our maps, guides, explanation baked in and it helps carries go much smoother. If they can't figure out how to join then some of these raids are going to blow there minds. If the expectation is that a few of us are going to carry and spend alot more time to get something done then they can spend 10 minutes linking whatever platform they use so they can utilize discord.

2 RepliesEdited by Zoidberg: 1/18/2025 3:34:18 PMIt's crazy how people think it's okay to join those when it says mic required. I wish they had a mic check before you join the post in lfg.

1 ReplyI don't use a mic , but if it says mic, even for a GM, I don't join, I respect your requirements Now with a raid ,I would expect everyone to be using mics, well, maybe not RON except 3rd encounter

1 million upvotes from me!

people like that dont wanna do anything, they just want a carry and free loot. people like that pi_ss me off,if they cant carry theyr own -blam!-,go play minecraft or forknite xD some people shouldnt play destiny

People suck. That's why I play solo 99.9% of the time. I'm one of those "Control Addicts", and I'm just slightly above average. I can have a good night every now and then, where I'll maintain a high kd for the night, and I'll get a bunch of friend and clan requests, but for the last few years, I just deny them all. Because, here's the thing - You saw me on a good night. I don't maintain high stats every game. I just can't do it. I'm not a "great player". And in the past, I've accepted those invites, and almost always, those people expect you to be able to play that way at all times, and many of them get p!ssy if you don't, and they'll just leave or kick you, if you don't maintain their "standards". So, I just play solo, and avoid that drama 🤷

I have several mics!! ...oh you want me to use one!! I'm just joking around, if a mic is required I will use one!! There are (or were) activities that fill quickly and sometimes you just need to get on asap... it might take a minute to get on the mic after joining. Or, when rushing to join, you've joined the wrong post; I'd back out of those (only happened once or twice for me).

1 ReplyIn game chat doesn’t work half the time on ps5. Bungie hasn’t fixed this issue n it’s been months. How can call of duty cross platform chat always work but destiny can’t get it right?
-
3 RepliesI have no idea why someone without a mic would even look at a raid because communication in raids is crucial. And I say this as someone who has no mic.
-
5 RepliesYou have this problem because gamers are so impatient they do not read the requirements. I hate to say it, but kick them and get someone else, or you will have a team wipe soon enough. I have a similar problem with GMs and level requirements. I have to deny numerous requests because many players do not read the level requirement. Unfortunately, Fireteam Finder does not enforce the requirement. Application Required does not prevent someone from responding to the post.

1 ReplyBut then you'll get those same people complaining on here that they got kicked from the fireteam when they refuse to talk in an activity that requires. Dungeons are at least somewhat acceptable to not speak in. However, I've done enough lfg dungeons to know that a majority of people using lfg for it just don't even know what to do when the mechanics are extremely basic. I even had a dude leave a warlords run just because we wiped 1 time.
