Just as I thought after reading the patch notes, Bungie have ruined the Raneiks boss fight. Boss now has at least 5 times the effective health and shrugs off tether and ignitions now as well.
Why do they always have to “fix” things and in doing so usually always worsen the player experience?
It’s now a slogfest to solo just like every other dungeon boss in the game, perhaps moreso.

With a reputation below rock bottom and a collapsing player base, this is definitely the kind of thing they should be doing.

They are restricted in the content they are allowed to work on, and making a sub-par activity take longer is an easy win. Bonus points if we have to run the sub-par activity multiple times for an real reward. It’s all about dragging out rather than creation.

Edited by xbroggiex: 1/16/2025 12:19:10 AMThey obviously "fixed tether" by reducing the servitor count didn't they? lol if this is their capability of fixing bugs now they should just shut down the game and save themselves further embarassment because I doubt they will get work in developing games again unless the company that hires them is looking to make another Concord level flop.

4 RepliesI just don't know why they don't do what just about every other game does when multiple enemies are used to represent a single HP bar. All they had to do was put an NPC out in the void somewhere that players couldn't get to that all those Servitors would share damage to, and once that NPC died, the encounter would complete. It would prevent all the "cyclical" damage bugs entirely by itself and even let you potentially destroy individual servitors without affecting the actual boss encounter mechanics. Fromsoft did this in Elden Ring with their Godskin Duo fight and plenty of other games have used this kind of trick in the past. Why Bungie didn't do it this way is anyone's guess.

6 RepliesThey also supposedly fixed the first encounter skip that let you use the cores from the second encounter to complete it, which stinks. I haven't gone to test if that's true or not, but the way the notes read and from what I've heard, it's the case.

I'm not surprised less copies in dps is the fix. At least they maybe fixed the guitar errors.

Hence why I solo'd this on Hunter a month ago, you shouldn't use Tether if you're solo'ing anyways.
