They should at the very least let you get the anchors in normal, like encore, so you can go in solo & do the tricky things then lfg for a simple clear. The anchors are extremely buggy & it means going through the stress if you're unsociable/disabled, for nothing, like I did today. 3 of my 4 quests didn't count, I can't delete the quests & I'm short on room. Now I gotta find a group & find which anchors I'm bugged on, I'm like 2/3, 1/2,1.2 on the 3 quests.

Look up esoterickk, copy his movements, build, habits, etc You'll get it You don't need to be good, you just need to be smart with your cards

I hope they don't make a change so you then either have to work with others or find a way to do it by yourself

You say the catalyst is "locked" behind the Expert version. Then you state that you are in a clan and have teammates available to play with. You then state that you "choose not to." A door is only locked if you don't have the keys. Having them in your hand and not putting them in the door is on you. I can't believe anyone is complaining about this mission at all. It's essentially a story mission... jump through a few mirrors, gather some motes, and the bosses fall over dead with little effort. I'm middle-aged and got a 12 minute clear with 1 other person. Your post sticks out because you admit that the problem is you and not the mission itself. And I agree.

Just use fireteam finder, it's a simple mission, you don't have to communicate, it will be just like a matchmade Vanguard Ops There needs to be a reward to get better, without the catalyst there is no reason for the harder mode to exist If you don't want to overcome any challenges, then your decision shouldn't water down the game for everyone else, that's what happened in D2 Vanilla

You just also don't get to choose to get the reward without doing the required work. You are not being forced to play Destiny under any penalty. Its the same way it's always been. They are not gonna change it. It makes sense both thematically and in game mechanics. I run allot with randoms and clan mates. If you ever want help let me know.

Don't feel bad the stairs section sucked with 3 people. It's not a skill issue, they made it overly difficult in various sections. I agree, let players get the catalyst and intrinsics done at the lower level. Leave expert for more resource drops.

As someone who's never had too much difficulty getting these things done, usually by partying up with other players, mind you, I still completely agree with you. These exotic missions have always been infuriatingly difficult to complete solo. I did it once for Revision Zero, and for Wish-Keeper, and I kinda hated it both times, but especially for Revision Zero. That brig room was just miserable. Now I personally have gotten comfortable enough playing with others that I don't have a problem LFGing to find people to do these missions with (other than the fact that the playerbase is so dead it's hard to find people nowadays), but it should be a choice, not a requirement, and I'm sure the fact that Bungie has consistently done everything they can to give solo and casual players the middle finger has contributed to the dying playerbase.

It's not going to happen. Quit expecting it to happen just because you decided to play a multiplayer game solo and can't solo things.

The catalysts aren't really that much of a upgrade truthfully. If you don't want to play with other people and can't solo expert your not missing much. There's nothing wrong with better rewards being tied to harder difficulty. At this point playing solo is a choice.

TLDR probably just a skill issue

2 manned legend yesterday with a crappy build because I had to shoot the crystal things for a catalyst. We still nearly nuked the boss in 1 phase. We would have if I didn't have a scorn projectile hit my gl projectile as it left my gun. It's not a hard mission, even on expert. I could probably solo it pretty comfortably with an actual good build.
