High Ground, If somethings good, it gets buried, and that needs to stop

In a game about killing stuff, they bury anything that actually kills stuff The crafting glitch brought huge numbers back to the game that weekend, I wonder why, maybe because in a power fantasy, we actually felt powerful But no, the nerfherding snowflakes cry about "Balance" , because they can't stand anyone having fun, and take getting killed in crucible personally In year 1 we had static rolls and no special weapons and boring exotics because of these same people

  • The perk should have only worked after a kill from higher ground. Also only while still on higher ground should it been able to stay active. Get back on same level plane as next shot registers, perk de-activates. Simple! Easy to read and understand perk descriptions and benefits. Kill clip - get kill reload get benefit. Rampage - instant increase to new damage increase. This is not about what’s fun. It’s about them not coding the perk properly to begin with. They are wonderful at getting the new things added to have “better than expected performance.” They have mastered free publicity and earning potential for them and content creators off these items below. All businesses find best way to make profits for them Bungie and (content creators of Bungie’s ip). Here is a small list of over tuned items “in my opinion” just off the top of my head. Prometheus lens. “Laser tag weekend” Luna’s howl. The rich get richer. Best and dedicated players get weapon and are rewarded with best ttk at the time with minimal setup. Recluse- mountaintop. I don’t think revoker was too bad. Although I understand that players that snipe and take shots getting free return after missed shots is bad. Stasis beyond light launch till about 6-9 months after launch. Strand slightly scaled back but still op for a time. Prismatic multiple builds still being tuned still to this day. Love writing these responses that no one will ever care or objectively think about the totality of everything stated!!!!!!

  • If they bring out an overly powerful perk like what high ground was everyone starts using it because that’s was the only way to compete and once that happens it’s exactly the same as static rolls. Boring!

  • Maybe if you kids stop acting like anything that kills you in PvP is the most broken thing to ever exist, this wouldn’t happen. The amount of random excuses I’ve seen is just embarrassing.

      Seriously we're at that point where I never wanna see PvP related Perks/Exotics/Abilities ever again. Storms edge was completely made for PvP and has now been nerfed to the point where it's just not worth it. Thus making said ability used nowhere. This happens over and over and over again. Juggernaut was made purely with PvP in mind, since it's nerf it's not used anywhere. Shatterdive while yes over-tuned at the time has since been rendered completely useless since it's nerf. Spectral Blades was made with PvP in mind, nerfed almost immediately after it came out and has not been used since (we're up to [b]SIX YEARS[/b] of it being useless). Every single PvP exotic if it gives you any kind of advantage for using it whatsoever even if it's minimal will be nerfed into the ground (khepris sting and osmiomancy were stupidly niche in PvP yet still got hit with massive nerfs). Threaded Specter was a minor annoyance at best yet the bungie team treated it like it's one shotting players and so now it's not good ANYWHERE. What was once my favorite ability in the game has been killed off because of PVP. High ground was ONLY GOOD IN PVP and now it's good in NO part of the game. They need to stop making things that are FOR PvP and just have things that HAPPEN to be good in the mode and adjust later. I'm so tired of this song and dance...

        • If the crafting glitch is what people need to have fun then what's the next level after that? Damage perks for shooting can be problematic. You should probably have to do something else to get a damage buff.

            • High Ground and Knucklehead nerfs do basically nothing in PvE and are very fair in PvP. Power creep to craftening level was fun because it was temporary and a bug. Trivializing literally all challenge in the game ruins any incentive to get new gear and improve as a player. If you want to destroy stuff like that, play patrol. Players loved craftening because it allowed them to accomplish things (and thus earn loot) they had no right earning. Once that novelty fades away, it stops being interesting. If everyone can solo a GM or insta kill a raid boss, does it really feel interesting to do it? Personally, I find power creep to that extreme to be incredibly dull and draining of all skill expression. Theres a reason there aren’t tons of players just stomping patrols, even though that experience is essentially equivalent to what the endgame would feel like if craftening was permanent. Its boring. That’s not to say there aren’t players who would enjoy that, but that there are plenty of players who having that be permanent would kill all drive to play in the long term

            • Nah nerfing knucklehead radar and high round was good. Free damage perks are totally not good for pvp. Lower skill players should hit their shots without relying on overpowered perks to do the work for them. Over powered perks are not fun, gunning your opponent in an even playing field is.

              • some things like storm's edge dont deserve the nerfs, its just htat something new is immediately good for pvp, i mean its not even good for pve, but some times, I feel like nerfs are deserved, specifically when one particular weapon or weapon type is suddenly outperforming all others very easily, fun as that might be, its join the meta or get destroyed type -blam!-. I mean idk about all weapons, but I got two tapped by bygones a lot, tbh, it didn't seem too bad, I never died to it too much, so maybe it didn't deserve a nerf, maybe, but it depends on how easy it is to do IG.

                    High ground was busted. Plain and simple. The nerfs to hunters only come bc the 💩 players of destiny always think that it’s an exotic or a gun or an ability that’s the reason why they die. They can’t fathom they simply suck and should keep their mouths shut. Would suck less if they just did that.

                    • The hight for activation is ridiculous. When will those bungi learn? DONT NERF EVERYTHING TO THE POINT OF BEING USELESS! And do something about lobby balance. Remove FBMM from the game. The more it’s in the more people will leave.

                      • PvP should have been a Static Pool of weapons and class armour, everybody gets the chance of the same weapons doing the same damage and ditto with the armour. Then it’s SOLELY based upon skill, but no, that’s not what the nerf babies want. Incidentally, in my opinion that’s what cost Bungie a Slot in eSports. Instead PvE gets stuffed and our magic broken. Great play Bungie, playing to the less than 10% and losing everybody else.

                          • Bungie is the one that decided sleeper sims ricochet was too strong and the identity of the gun should be more damage if you miss. Before we start blaming the community, let's point towards bungie and their goal to rip the identity out of any gun that's neat or fun. Don't forget bungie nerfed ruinous effigy not because it was soloing raid bosses, or melting ads, or any number of game breaking things. They nerfed it because they made a legitimately cool and fun gun and it's usage numbers were high reflecting that.

                            With so many different teams that has handled this game, you would have thought that someone would do it differently, but no. It was either run by the same person the entire time, or there is some sort of blue print to how to piss your entire player base off, that these people follow.

                          • I’ll never understand why anyone takes pvp in a space magic game like destiny seriously. This -blam!- cannot be balanced, because there will always be a perk or an ability that kills too quickly for the pvp crowd which just starts the nerf cycle all over again. Personally I think pvp should be melee/-blam!- only and remove kd and Elo stats from pvp while we are at it.

                                (although population figures may not allow it).. If I was running PVP - I would offer 2 modes. [b](Mode 1 - Balance)[/b] I think the PVP mains (me) require balance as they view it almost as a sport (notice this includes casuals or sweats). I consider myself in this camp. Also.. you keep using the word fun... as if this style of play is not fun? Its very fun.. I just wish it could be more casual in allowing more weapons to play and not optimizing every single thing. The goal here is balance, gunplay featured, abilities tamped down.. and offers some modes with no abilities whatsoever.. no heavy..etc. [b](Mode 2 - Fun/Experimental)[/b] Higher ability and almost unbalanced weapons or perks on purpose and on rotation.. fun modes like Mayhem or whatever this crowd likes :) Heck I would even play this mode if Bungie could just clearly state a philosophy.. goal structure..etc. So to me players shouldn't be arguing with each other really... Its just that Bungie won't listen (and maybe hasn't listened and its too late) in PVP.. and is making a decision for balancing the viability of more weapons (the high ground nerf) as that is still the fairest way to approach PVP for the majority of the population that plays PVP.

                                • Agree, a lot of the guns feel underpowered now, especially the primaries when doing harder content. And now they talk about nerfing the rocket side arm as well. In PvP, I thought for High Ground they just increased the height difference required for the perk to activate.

                                  • I'm still sad they nuked Citans. Instead of making things viable they just nuke them to oblivion. They should just start removing perks completely from the game.
