Between those two, do you think one is better?
Majority of use would be for PvE….but I do play some Control at times as well.
Also: Are there other exotics to consider using besides those two and Getaway Artists?
Thanks for any suggestions. Just looking to improve my warlock build-crafting.

1 ReplyCrown for prismatic, sunstar for arc. I have been having a lot of fun with crown + devour on prismatic... a negative can be that stormtrance lasts too long sometimes; but that is only in situations where a barrier champ exists, or there's some other timed dps mechanic.

elitegcan you clean up PVP a little? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - 3/9/2026 1:16:08 AM
Also: Are there other exotics to consider using besides those two and Getaway Artists?
Vesper of Radius is now my favorite PVE exotic (potentially of all time). Its taking rifts and weaponizing them to the max imo. You can now offensively lay your rift close to enemies and maybe just next to cover... Periodic blinding arc blasts that can kill + arc souls for all, recharge quicker when surrounded, spark of resistance (making you even more resistant when surrounded), spark of feedback and your melee is even better as you take a hit from the surrounded.. you add some attrition orb healing (recuperation, absolution, better already in the legs) and double distribution in the bond... and that rift is a weapon. Prefer to use Ex Diris as well with this... :) resil & recov 100 and then in order of importance what you can do > intel, strength, dis for this build -
Normally I’d say Crown for lower difficulties and Sunstar for when you aren’t killing as often (higher difficulties). Jolting Feedback is a great addition though and helps keep Crown’s buff going in higher difficulties.

Gateway artist for prismatic and fallen sunstar only for arc build.

Crown. Super charges ability charge rate. Charges super fast as hell. Makes it last longer when you get kills too. Just had way more upsides than sunstar IMO.

2 RepliesEdited by OG (117): 12/12/2024 2:44:12 AMCrown for tougher content, fallen sun star for easy to mid content. Both are solid, but I tend to lean towards crown if I’m running an arc subclass.

2 RepliesI've not played arc for a good while, but when I did, it was ballin sunstar all the way. Those ionic traces were ability printing machines

Edited by GradeMyGuardianTTV: 12/12/2024 2:32:59 PMI'm personally a bigger fan of Fallen Sunstar. Ionic Trace builds lend to better ability uptime on Warlock than damn near anything else. Crown demands ability/jolt kills, not always feasible in endgame. Spark of Ions, Spark of Beacons & Spark of Discharge are all necessary implements to maximize Sunstar, but as long as you're willing to commit to them, you'll pretty much have infinite abilities. Throw in a Voltshot Special (Indebted/Undercurrent/Ded Grandma) & you'll be all set. Another factor for myself is my preference for Chaos Reach as a Super. There's already so many potent ways to ad clear in the game, I prefer to not use my Super for it. That said, Crown has great Fireteam Support, especially when run with the Power Preservation Mod. You can enable allies to chain Supers after you destroy with Stormtrance. . That said, my personal favorite Arc-Lock is Vesper Radius. You can build a Chaos Reach in around 30-40s provided solid ad density. It's hyper aggressive and enables crazy CC for ad dense scenarios. The Super uptime is nice burst DPS to boot. . Another fun one is Verity's Brow. Though strongest on Solar, there's so many absurd Arc Weapons in the game to make this Exotic shine on Arc as well. Forebearance is great with it, but once again if you build into Ionic Traces, you really can't beat Indebted or Undercurrent (assuming Voltshot). I personally run Storm Grenade when on this, but Pulses & even Flux are pretty awesome when on Verity's.

3 RepliesYou have to think about it this way. Crown gives u more benefits than sunstar. u get extended super plus all of the extra benefits from sunstar without need to get the ionic traces. And imo jolt is top tier for add clear so most of the time I got on a voltshot or jolting feedback weapon so no worries about arc kills.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I prefer crown, it's basically Arcs version of Nazeric , all Arc damage charges your abilities, plus it makes stormcaller last longer -
You can also try stormdancer's brace combined with bad jusu

For the ocasional control I would recommend Getaway Artist over the others.

1 ReplyI absolutely love my fallen sunstar build. Pulled it back out recently to see if it still shines… And it does. Arc subclass. Stormtrance Ball lightning Storm grenade Arc soul Electrostatic mind Spark of beacons Spark of shock Spark of discharge Spark of resistance Seasonal artifact of concern: Scout anti barrier Total carnage Trace evidence Debilitating wave Retinal burn Head mods: Harmonic siphon x2 Special ammo finder Arm mods: Momentum transfer Impact induction Bolstering detonation Chest mods: x2 activity damage modifier Charged up Leg mods: Harmonic scavenger Recuperation Insulation Class item mod: Powerful attraction Special finisher Reaper Key weapon: Coldheart Weapons of my choice; primary: Last rite scout with reconstruction and focused fury and vanguards vindication. *NEVER have to reload. Power weapon: Bitter/sweet with bait and switch and envious assassin. *never have to reload. Gameplay: Throw rift. Per need; Stun unstoppables with blinding by the artifact perk. Stun overlaid with grenade. Throw melee and grenade. Spam coldheart to recharge all abilities. Bonuses.. Hitting with the coldheart blinds trash mobs and yellow bars alike. No range fall off but recoil becomes difficult. Scout for distance needs and anti-barrier. Scout, cold heart damage reloads power and triggers bait and switch.

1 ReplyCrown of Tempest, but only slightly over Fallen Sunstar. But I always want to wear the Fallen Sunstar over anything because it looks so weird and cool.

2 RepliesFWIW: in this old tortoise’s vanilla build world, Crown is what I normally use when on arc…though I swap Crown for G Artist gloves when better suited (🤭) to a mission…to give arcsoul via a rift, as desired. Sol - Helios + snappy Sol gloves is a hoot. Void - big and slow is the standard. Strand / Stasis - basic ++ Prismatic - x3 is basic but fun too! That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡
