Glimmer cost me a solo-flawless attempt of Vespers Host..
First damage phase on final boss and as I start to unload my heavy GL, 1 small brick of glimmer lands in my face and barrel stuffs my GL causing me to detonate myself. Super duper cool. I will figure out how to post the clip. I had to manually slow it down myself to realize what happened.

Edit 2: Just got error code Arugula with about 1/8th final boss health left. This one might do it for me chat. I was already feeling apathetic towards the game. @Bungie I hope you see this post. Do better. This is actually pathetic.

1 ReplyI swear the game knows when we’re attempting solo flawless and messes with us on purpose. I’ve farmed the encounters solo since VH came out with little issues, soon as I decide to go for flawless things go weird. Servitor going immune with only a tiny bit of health left and not reforming so I can do another phase, they just float there and shoot at me lol, decoys not dropping bombs even those the scanner says they have it and my favourite is the exploder shank that teleports right beside me once in awhile. It kinda of reminds me of when Duality first came out, you needed more luck than skill to beat it without it bugging out and ruining your run.

3 RepliesJust save some sanity and don't do it. That's why I don't solo dungeons or play comp anymore. I'm pretty much done with trials too with record low numbers every weekend

OP: Ouch! 😵💫 And on a solo run, too! Double-ouch!! 🤨 Maybe on your next attempt, switch to an MG / something else…but NOT a heavy GL - especially the FoTL ones…therein lies a glimmer of hope that this issue won’t be a rin$e and repeat! 🤑 FWIW: this old tortoise has noticed more than a few instances of being exploded by dubious means whilst pootling about doing vanilla stuff, eg, kamikaze red bars / incoming rounds zeroing-in on my heavy FoTL GL round(s) / other unseen objects / etc… 🫤 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡

That sucks that that happened, but on the other hand, it is a little funny that a random glimmer drop caused it instead of literally anything else in the dungeon.

Honestly, since the start of this episode I've hated how the dumbest crap can make you -blam!- with a grenade launcher. It's happened to me so many times, and even more so since Act II, to the point where I almost don't even want to use grenade launchers. I don't know why they changed this to happen, but it's so frustrating.

1 ReplyI remember watching a video on trials or something on midtown and guy was standing on top of that mini shop by the little bridge on the long lane, guy stepped back to snipe and a piece of random debris like a vase or something ate his snipe which would have been a headshot otherwise lol. I’ve seen some really obscure stuff like that before.

That's why I dread when the GL's are in the artifact. They inadvertently kill you when a butterfly goes by and glances off the grenade. Good luck on your solo run, something I wont attempt.

Well since glimmer is a physical object, it can interfere with with explosive weapons. I once blew myself up with a rocket launcher since the ad that I killed shower glimmer in front of me causing my rocket to explode before it left the barrel.

I’m with you in this. The explosive damage from GLs especially heavies seems to get me killed all the time. I especially hate when an enemy shoots it out of the air in my face… 🤯😶🌫️☠️
