Too many materials. Did the entire act 2 story and didn’t even unlock a single new attunement tonic, let alone actually being able to make that tonic once I do. The act 2 fieldwork awards zero of this new material.
Tonics aren’t it. Seasonal weapons should have just been like regular onslaught attunement. Let us do something to unlock it and then pick the one we want to unlock first and then just turn it on.
This was such a poor replacement for crafting. I want to grind weapons. Not potion ingredients.

I just played 5 rounds of Tomb of the elders, did the extra Objectives „almost“ every encounter and got 1 tomb flake.. in total!!! I’m playing since D1 with all the ups and downs.. didn’t miss one season and love the Game.. tomb flakes almost made me stop for good. Wtf is this ??? I won’t finish Eidos stuff now.. just missing 3 recepies.. (all with tomb flakes) giving up now.. really can’t be bothered anymore.. Thanks a lot @Bungie !
-
1 Replydid 4 runs of tomb today, not 1 single flake. they -blam!- our asses so hard.... not fun anymore
-
I just tested that bitter/sweet tonic. 66 mins I believe, and I did at least 15 master lost sectors, and - got 2 bitter/sweet to drop. Same test for a 50 wave onslaughter - got 2 as well

What they’ll do is increase the tomb flake droprate and say that there was a bug with tonics dropping the incorrect weapons or up the chance for a tonic to drop that weapon. And they’ll think they’ve done a great job , and deserve praise. A company with 800 people. Doing this to “satisfy the players” , while not fixing any of the other bugs Or giving us decent guns or craftable guns, or adding actual rogue lite mechanics to contest of elders. Nah. What we get are more of the total -blam!- seasonal guns. Great. I delete all of them. They are all -blam!-.

I get 8-10 Tomb Flakes per full run of the Contest of Elders. Tomb of Elders has way less opportunities for loot and bonus objectives. The reason being that the field work missions unlock enhancements to things in Tomb of Elders/Contest of Elders. Contest gives more opportunities as well. I actively do the bonus objectives when they show up. Doing these give you more resources from the mode combined with the field work bonuses. Ignoring the bonus objectives and field work missions is not the way. All you need is right there in the field work missions and bonus objectives. This is the way.

did a run today, got 1 tomb flake, did a run yesterday, and got like 13. I just don't even understand it, but i do know wasting 40 minutes to get 1 flake feels absolutely terrible....
-
I wouldn't say tediously unfun. I think it has a nice charming feel to it It isn't perfect. I think enriching tonics should be replaced by "alchemical charms" which are a more expensive (like 5-10x) but once unlocked they are permanent and can be equipped and removed at will from the tonic menu. And I like the minor gameplay benefits from the volatile ones. But I think they shouldn't expire until you go to orbit. It's a good set of bones that needs a few weak points improved.

Bungie doesn't care... If they get rid of the tonic system, then we are right... Bungie doesn't want that... Bungie will continue to dictate how we play and experience D2 no matter how much we complain. They're the abusive partner in this relationship... They continue to beat us over the head with their B.S. "Things will get better, we hear you, guardians. Transparency is important here at Bungie." Blah blah blah blah blah.... Then the following week they kick our butt's again....

"Hey, here's these tonics that are required to enjoy the full extent of the season and its rewards. By the way, the only way to unlock them is make more and hope 1 unlocks with the materials being more rare than actual world drops, have fun!" I wouldn't mind it as much if there was an actual way to unlock them beyond random chance and hoping, especially with how excessively rare some materials are even when you constantly play the activity they're supposed to be from.
-
I am absolutely loathing this season thanks to the moronic tonic crap.
-
They actually think that people want to spend 50mins in a activity with poor rewards just to get maybe 2 or 3 flakes from it lol
-
Tonics are OK. Rewards are OK. ... OK, not very creative but well, OK. The 3 rare flakes are the usual treadmill middle finger. Increase their drop rate by factor 3-5 and everything was OK.
-
1 ReplyBungie really looked at KH3's ingredient process and thought "we can make it even worse."
-
2 RepliesWhy not be able to turn in a few dozen or even hundred of the low-level ingredients for higher level ingredients? Nobody's crafting green tonics anymore after the better ones are unlocked; make their ingredients valuable again.
-
Tonics are the “middle man” used to bump our play time. It’s boring. Tedious. Uninspiring content.
-
8 RepliesThe fact that you can do a full run of Contest of Elders and not get a SINGLE DROP of TOMB FLAKE is laughably bad. Bungie, people no longer want to grind a mid-tier activity with garbage modifiers for aimless loot.
-
Does tonics drop from gms? been doing a lot lately to gild my emperor seal, tried to check dim but i couldn't find it.

"Tonic system is tediously unfun" Hello! 3 weeks ago I posted a thread regarding my complete disengagement from Act 1 citing Tonic brewing as one of the reasons. Looks like more players are feeling the "ugh factor" brewing as well? The thought of this game mechanic left a sour taste.....🤣🤣🤣!

Yeah it’s pretty bad. You should get at least 3 from opening the fancy treasure hoard chests in challenge of elders.
-
Tonics and tomb just seem uneeded and an attempt to push play time.
