Bottom line just don't grind or farm pointless stuff. At this point everything is a waste of grind time and development.

Yes and no. I stuck a very long time with meanwhile obsolete or replaced (by better versions) weapons. Like ones with origin traits vs without. Not everything is good/mandatory but Bungie are still very creative with adding new perks, traits, artifacts and meta changes. Hence I find often something interesting. On the other side I own for every weapon type more choice than I ever needed. Aside from very niche situations there is always an array of possible highly viable loadouts. Bottom line as long as I play I can acquire some good loot alongside but it's not my main motivation. And I have no issues deleting as I won't use everything anyway.
