With the removal of seasonal crafting, triumphs for seals that are excessively tedious once again and bugs that give the indication that the QA team is not being listened to, I don't know what the point is anymore.
With the removal of seasonal crafting, we're stuck in the same situation as before. Vault space will become a seasonal issue again. And when we can't store the loot we earn, we'll judge the gear on it's general use and how overpowered it is. Meaning most loot in the game will no longer be worth obtaining, and therefor there will no reason to play the game. Why should anyone care to spend hours upon hours to get -blam!- roll of any weapon if it'll never leave the vault? It's great that we can attune weapons now, but what's the point in getting it?
As for the triumphs, we're back to high numbers to chase? 250 barons? 150 upgrades? timegated armour? If the limited time gear wasn't a turnoff, we're back to having to play the same activity over and over for hours to get one triumph done? I thought we were on the way to make the player's time worth it.
And now we've got Vesper, and it's been a few weeks. Yet the worst bugs are still there since day 1. Bugs that are so severe that the QA team should have caught them. And with how many issues we've had recently, it frankly doesn't look good.
Perhaps I'm just outgrowing the game, perhaps it's moving into a direction that just isn't for me. Most people I know who plays the game only logs on once a week anymore, at most. The motivation is lower than ever while burnout is at its highest.
-
Agreed, also I think Vesper Dungeon has the worst boss fight in the game, it's too much, too long to get back to damage phase, too much at the final boss actual damage phase. I bet it will have the lowest player completion rates, the lowest LFG rates, the lowest players returning and playing it each week after week. Failure I think Bungie is listening to hardcore and streamers more and more. Also agreed with what you mentioned and will continue losing players. Without crafting I have barely touched season of the tonics.

12 RepliesEdited by CookieNiki: 11/8/2024 11:42:02 PMWe have too much gear. Way too much gear that works and feels the same. New weapons barely mean anything anymore, their novelty wears down quickly. Destiny gear has become like Netflix: way too much tedious, uninteresting, gear. And when some weapon starts to shine brighter its nerfed to the same boring level as the rest. The only thing that will revitalize Destiny is a hard reset AND a much better and original philosophy when making the next Destiny. Keep the great gunplay and universe but change the core game, think out of the box, because just more Destiny won't cut it, no matter how many twists and mixes you throw at the game. The episodes are just glorified seasons with another name. The core activities have been strikes, gambit and crucible for waaaaaaaay too long. Players are genuinely fed up with the same thing over and over again.

2 RepliesEdited by TACO_Adept: 11/8/2024 8:53:49 PMIt always has.. And I too feel like I've lost motivation and don't like where the game is moving. It feels like we older and long term players have been sold out for the new round of Blueberries and mobile users. They sneakily increased the XP points for levelling, cut back on Bright Dust, rehashed and rebadged weapons and events and they're just stale. And Triumphs are just not worth chasing anymore. This last Sept saw peak player numbers on Steam around 41k.. where last Sept was 145k, and highest numbers were over 300k. Which is probably why I can't ever log into Comp and get timed out regularly. Also, they have still done nothing about cheaters in PVP, which are at an all time high. At its peak, it's fantastic. But they are struggling to keep it up. It's just sad that it's fallen to this. 7700 hours where I could have played something that respected my time.

3 RepliesEdited by Morakx: 11/9/2024 3:13:49 PMBungie has made it clear as ice that their targeted audience consists of content creators and unemployed 24/7 gamers nowadays. If you are not one of those 2 metrics, play something else. They are wasting your time. I used to main Destiny 2 from 2018 until last year. Now i barely log in anymore and simply play games that give enjoyment and fun back to me while playing. One job is enough for me personally, no need for a second one called destiny.

Rn its just dry. I feel burnt out too but its more because of the lack of interesting guns to chase. Lets talk about seasonal guns for a second, many say lack of crafting right? Wrong. The guns themselves are not good aside from the handcannon in pve. The sidearm feels terrible and has a tiny magazine-almost 0 reload The doubleshot stasis special GL has the same issue, reloading is pain and the area denial is just better in every way The arc pulse with jolting feedback enh needs 11! Shots to proc it, every red bar dies in less than 11 shots and nobodys running it in GM’s. The neonuma pulse with high caliber/voltshot/tracer rockets is way better u can often get a redbar kill in 1-2 bursts (3-6 shots) in any content and then u can apply the volt where ever u want The arc heavy GL has so many competition of 120 heavies with bait/expl light that its not even worth it, its basically only for boss dps because wave frames are better for anything else, and there 150 rpms now which do more dps. I probably forgot a few guns, the hc is decent with rimestealer headstone but only because of the artifact perks, without the artifact it ‘d be -blam!- too On top of these guns just not being worth it AT ALL, this weeks GM isnt worth it at all. So in short there isnt much to chase rn, we got our new glaives, you can do some Garden, but yeah we’re headed into another dry week till next reset then we get a little itty bit of content for 1-2 weeks and we’re back to whining like this because these guns and rewards are incredibly weak.

It sure is, which is its MO to be honest. I've played less this entire year than in the previous 10. Still fun to shoot baddies with friends on occasion. Story sucks. Missions suck. New stuff generally sucks. The FOMO is finally dead and gone. I don't even do the events anymore. Why bother? For shards? Oh wait those are gone. Well, we can still see them on the app so... hidden, not gone. Half--blam!-ed like everything they do lately.

1 ReplyLong time players are going to be burnt out regardless because there isn't much new they can do with this game that we haven't seen before No D3 was a mistake, The main series needs a refresh in the worst way, if Destiny Rising was on PC and Console it would have higher numbers than D2

Edited by 史提芬: 11/11/2024 1:38:45 PMI recently deleted 150 items in my vault. But within five days my vault was completely full again. Because i have to deal with Echoes and Revenant Weapons/Class Items/Dungeon Weapons/Festival of the Lost Items. Now the vault only has 20 slots. When playing Onslaught 50 waves, every time an item drops, i need to decide in a few seconds whether it needs to be cleared before i can continue the game, and I also have to pay attention to the 20-minute countdown of Tonic Formulas. There are more than 20 items to be processed after each game. Now there is no space in the vault, so I can't keep my hard-earned loot for future testing. which feels really bad! In 《This Week in Destiny》, it was announced that the problem of insufficient vault space has been included in the work plan. but A solution will not be proposed until next year. However, now I am spending a lot of time every day organizing weapons and armor in DIM.

1 Reply"QA team" lmfao. There are none of these left.

1 ReplyEdited by UltraRage101: 11/10/2024 10:16:25 AMI would say that since there are no side quests that have nothing to do with the main story burnt out sets in, even I'm burnt out because it's the same thing every season or episode, we don't need more weapons and armor content what we need is story content, because if bungie's focus is on weapons and armor content first and story last then players are going move on.

3 RepliesDestiny taking too many hints from netease. Speaking of that, has anyone seen the streamers fawning over a gatcha game like that? Brings the whole company to a brand new low.
-
1 ReplySo, the armor is time gated? ( Here's looking at you Hunter cloak)! Seriously???? 😑
-
4 RepliesCouldn't have said it better myself, especially the part about them taking away seasonal crafting. It's completely killed all my motivation to play the activity. Why bother grinding for hours and hours when there's no guarantee I'll ever get anything worthwhile for my time. I played MORE when there were patterns to grind for, because at least that was a guaranteed reward for my time investment. Taking away the patterns is making me (and every other player I know) play less, rather than more, even though Bungie did it to try and inflate play time.
-
1 ReplyEdited by JocyBossy: 11/9/2024 8:34:12 PMJust look at SE. It's barely played anymore and the ingame LFG for it is a ghost town most of the time. The timer must be removed(normal only) as it's artificial difficulty and timers in Destiny have been hated since their inception.
-
2 RepliesNo you’re pushing yourself to burnout. When did people start blaming everyone and everything else for their own poor decisions? If you feel the game is designed to make you miserable then stop playing and talk to a therapist. Or maybe take a break and play something else.
-
1 ReplyI'm just not playing this 'episode' since with the seasonal crafting gone, I don't see the point in really playing right now since I'm not going to slog through a grindathon just to get the rolls I want. It's asinine that Bungie somehow thought this would increase 'engagement' cause for me personally it's just creating unengagement.
-
This is an easy one! Stop playing games that make you feel burnt out.
-
I work away from home for a couple of weeks at a time. So I get an enforced break. Keeps the game fresh for me. 👍🏻

I’m running more PvE because I’m holding back Khepris Horn, I haven’t been studying like I used to. Due to avoidable circumstances, I’m under a device restriction. My mom took my Red Elite Series 2 completely decked out, paddled up, and shifted. I am currently near the end of my 2 day catchup experience trying to obtain Choir of one and all of its perks. Been doing it with a default controller and it’s been eye opening.

People keep bringing up the removal of seasonal crafting are weak minded. A good 75% of seasonal weapons we can craft aren’t being used. Every weapon this season is straight up cracked so if that’s how Bungie is going to do it then I prefer to grind for rolls rather then craft a bunch of decent weapons and possibly one good weapon.
-
Vault space being a seasonal issue comes down to a simple point. Too much emphasis on trying to predict Bungie's future direction. Grab something you want and know you will use. Throw everything else away. I've never really had a vault issue.......so you'll forgive me for not being sympathetic. Overall I barely break a single page of the vault. Elaborating on why........Most weapons do everything you need them to do in the game across the board. From GMs to Vanguard Ops. I just never saw the point in hoarding unnecessarily. I spent a week looking for a G Roll Randy's. Got it and kept only it. "Perhaps I'm just outgrowing the game, perhaps it's moving into a direction that just isn't for me. Most people I know who plays the game only logs on once a week anymore, at most. The motivation is lower than ever while burnout is at its highest." Haven't touched the game in a while myself. I'd recommend taking a break if you do feel burned out. You don't have to quit the game. Just find a way to play that works for you. I hate the drip feed.........so once I finish a prior season. I don't log back in for weeks. I did that recently and by the time I came back......Act 3 of Echoes was out and I got it all done in 3 days. Do what you believe is best. Even if you love D2.......sometimes you have to let it go for a while.

It's just not fun replaying the same content over and over again. Just to complete a random checklist of goals (examples: triumphs, guardian ranks) THAT SERVE NO PURPOSE
-
2 RepliesIt always has. Take a break; sounds like you need one. Play some other games.
-
1 ReplyI have my favorites, and I don't need every weapon the game offers. TBH, I don't like the seasonal weapon-designs... maybe, because I can't craft them. I also don't need every triumph - it's too much. But, after a break I'm starting to enjoy the game again. I know top-players who say they are burned out. I'm not making that mistake too. One should realize that Destiny 2 isn't the center of the universe. It's just a game, a distraction, nothing else. Look for a healthy way to approach it, or you will only harm yourself.
-
2 RepliesIt's all about player retention and cash flowing through eververse.

2 RepliesI’d start looking for a new game. Destiny’s numbers aren’t up to projections and this trend will continue as they keep screwing with the game. Marathon will fail, between their crap PvP talent and the garbage engine? That’s years and hundred+ of million down the toilet, so expect that team to get the axe as well. So at what point will Sony decide to axe the studio and internalize whatever skeleton crew they need to keep Destiny and Marathon running? For however long they remain profitable. Everyone talking about Sony not doing it because of how much they spent? Keeping a studio alive that only loses money isn’t how you recoup that money! Basic 101. You monetize its assets, in this case, the secret sauce behind the gameplay feel. That alone is worth money and can be handed out to all their studios and partners. Then they can make better games, that’s where they get back their money. Buying Bungie wasn’t just for their games, it was getting the rights to their tech.
