In case anyone was wondering, assuming equal weight between 8 slots the chances of going 57 consecutive drops without one particular slot dropping is about 0.049%. Yes, you read that right, not 4.9%, not even 0.49%, 0.049%, less than a 20th of a single percent.

And yet some players defended the absolute stupid decision of the return of power climb.

5 RepliesEdited by Hippo: 11/6/2024 11:04:21 AMI still believe every guardian is assigned a seed number when they make their account and that seed determines the RnG pool, it's why the same people hit pinnacle cap week 1 and others are stuck needing a certain item for weeks.
-
1 ReplyMy first two were class items yesterday.

B-b-b-but it's only perk combinations on certain weapons that have an RNG issue.... right? (and for anyone wondering, those odds are only about 20 times higher than the odds of having 8 consecutive pinnacle drops in each slot with no duplication, so there's something seriously wrong here)

1 ReplyIf you did dual destiny you would have gotten pinnacle class item

1 ReplyEdited by Morakx: 11/7/2024 8:54:15 AMI am not questioning Bungie for terrible rng anymore at this point. What i am questioning tho is the playerbase. Why tf are you guys still willingly grinding for a completely irrelevant number that goes up while forcing you to waste valuable life time inside of activities you do not want to do? Like are you okay? There is not a single benefit you get from "number go up by 1" in this game. They literally put you on level for everything these days. Why are you guys so easily fooled and keep chasing the irrelevant number? Play the parts of the game that you enjoy and then get off the damn game to play actual quality and fun other games instead of chasing an artificial number in a dead game while complaining about a rigged system thats been like this for half a decade expecting it to change.

I have been constantly getting energy weapons as Pinnacle drops the past few weeks. This is just as worse as the weightgate / perkgate scandal, lol.

1 ReplyWhy do we spend so much time just for that again?

Good day Guardian! I find that very unfortunate, given that Dual Destiny gives a 100% guaranteed pinnacle drop for a class item for the first run on a character per week. I, too, was stuck on the class item on my Hunter, and just ran that activity one time to hit pinnacle cap. Glad you got yours (finally) and hit cap! Eyes up!

6 RepliesGrinding for max pinnacles on characters is a waste of time. You can improve your experience with a different method. If you allocated that same time to grinding power level through the artifact, your power level would be higher than the 2016 - 2022 held by your characters. My current power level is 2027 across all characters. By the end of this week it will be about 2028, bringing me closer to my desired power level of 2030 - the recommended power level for GMs. I have always found it easier to complete GMs when I reach the recommended level, so I focus on the overall power level, not individual character pinnacles. A high power level is useful in any activity because you take less damage and output more damage. Moreover, I do not have to be concerned with power difference when switching characters because they are at the same level.

I know the pain of that. You reach the Pinnacle on every other armor piece and weapon slot, but that last one eludes you for an unreasonably long amount of time. I got lucky, this Episode, when I got the Class Item to drop from Deep Stone Crypt when it was on the rotator for the Weekly Challenge, and it was the last one I needed. One of the things to remember if you are running the most recent Raid or Dungeon (Vesper requires you you unlock the Class Item through the Quest) is that each encounter has a specific loot table. In Salvation, it is the second and third encounters that drop the Class Items; in Vesper, it is the final encounter after the Quest is completed. Of course, the deal with Salvation is getting enough people together to run through the Raid, and it is only one potential drop out of five (one out of six for Vesper's Host). Still, it is a way to narrow down the loot drops to get what you want, and you just need to get it on one character to hit the pinnacle cap for Powerful Drops on all characters.

2 RepliesGood for you ! I am at 64 pinnacle engrams at 2010 And still looking for a class items on any of my 3 characters.... Bad rng or bad luck here feels like artificial really.... I read your post last week so I am happy for you cheers

Skill issue
jk, I also was hunting for the class item for a long time.
the chances of going 57 consecutive drops without one particular slot dropping is about 0.049%.
Which is why, out of hundreds of thousands of players, you're the only one that's reported needing 58 drops to get a class item.

I have been missing the hands and cloak for weeks. In the first 2 weeks. I was getting nothing but hands and cloak. Almost every pinnacle was those. Now that I need arms and cloak, it's not dropping. Heres the funny part, all my prime engrams have been hands and cloak lol. But nowhere near the pinnacle I need. It's like it's taunting me. I don't believe in no rng. Everything is tweaked and adjusted for us to keep grinding.

See that means its very random.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Glad it finally dropped. 👍 I abandoned the chase a while back. -
This is what I also need for my Hunter AND Titan. The cheeks I'm slapping couldn't be redder.

5 RepliesYup, RNG can be rough some times

This is crazy. I only get pinnacles from pathfinder, trials, 2 strikes, and that clan vendor, and I reached cap last week. I don’t think I’ve got a total of 58 pinnacles, not to mention 58 2010 pinnacles….

This is one of the reasons I've given up on Pinnacle power. Don't want to do any of the Pinnacle content that hasn't changed in ages and just has the goal posts moved in difficulty every season, just to get the same -blam!- over and over. The few pinnacles I have done, vast majority are energy weapons. There's too -blam!- many of them, so they drop constantly. Congrats on finishing, I just can't be bothered any more...

U r beyond unlucky I feel bad for u bro I got all of mine like this: Suppose an encounter/raid/dungeon giving pinnacle. I equipped all pinnacle items except the one that I didn’t have (gloves) then I got a pinnacle drop of the gloves..
