I dont think its elitist to add requirements to your fireteam and enforce them. I used to raid a lot in d1. In d2 i haven't really wanted to, but when i do i look for groups that are teaching. Having plenty of raid experience i know theres people out there who will join a group and drag the whole thing down. They wont even stand on a plate and stay alive. People dont always have time for that. If they just want to get it done theres nothing wrong with them vetting their fireteam. If you or i have a problem with that we dont have to play with them. I can make my own post and do things my way. Afk listings need to be handled better. Ive seen them stay up for the whole day. With an endless stream of players joining and leaving when they realize. But one minute seems a little short. I can spend one minute looking at my phone trying to find something in my vault without even thinking about it. I want [b]optional[/b] matchmaking on everything. Raids, gms, strikes, dungeons and everything else. Let me roll the dice or play solo as i see fit. Maybe fireteam finder could be improved in these and other ways. But im pretty happy it exists. I dont like using out of game things like forums or discord. Ive successfully done several gms with ff. Ive done all my d2 raids with ff. Ive had generally positive experiences.

Do better.[/quote] There is little difference between reviewing an application or having someone join inspecting them then removing them. No way to fix that issue and it is nowhere near elitist separation, don’t join a post for an activity you aren’t geared or experienced for (if the poster is asking for experience). 1 min is way to short of a timer, people can set a team up then step away for a second while waiting for people. Fire team finder is literally matchmaking with a few extra steps and you have a say on who’s in your fireteam and the ability to remove griefers. You won’t have that luxury if it’s built in fireteam matchmaking and you get paired with griefers or saboteurs.

Having used it several times, I find it a bit clunky and confusing, though, that might be down to this old tortoise!?😵‍💫 For example: the other day, I finally completed the campaign on my T, ie, the -blam!- mission. Once done, and Pale Heart unlocked, was looking to do the final 12-man mission…but, got mightily confused…🤔 12-man mission - GM vs. Narrative?? 😳 That made no sense to me? I’d already cleared it ages ago on my H…so I knew the narrative’…so I assumed the other option must be the right one…and clicked it… Instantly in a pre-game ‘searching for Guardians’ MM mode…and was astonished at how quickly it filled up!? Then, mission starts…and within the first minute or so, the team was kaput! This routine happened a few more times, before I ended up as Team Leader…and still they came…to fill those empty slots…😵‍💫😵‍💫 I promoted someone else, and bounced. Time for 😴 Next day, I hit the Narrative’ button - more out of curiosity than anything else! And, lo and behold, this is the 12-man mission on NORMAL mode! Finally…🙃 So, the issue there, was the lack of clear signage…that must catch out and confuse many…as it did me. 😁 Moving on… Fireteam Finder - I just find it clunky and confusing to use…but more so after my team is Ready…though it’s pretty straightforward in establishing the parameters of what I’m actually trying to do, and the kind of help I’m seeking. 👈 I’ve met lots of great Guardians…and maybe a handful of ‘creatures’….but, as I’m team leader, I have options at my disposal to deal with said ‘creatures’… TLDR: create your own team. But, if you’re joining a team, be straight with them…and read the tags b4 you spam that ‘join’ vs button! 👈👈 That is all. 🖖 Ease Springs! 🫡

So it's elitist to pick who you want in your fireteam? Sounds like someone doesn't know what the word elitist means. Add matchmaking to all activities other than raids? So, just completely ruin a bunch of things by letting those who don't know how to do something, refuse to talk to others, and run the worst builds for endgame into everything to force others to carry or leave to find others who can actually do what's needed.

Hate to break it to you, but the application is absolutely required. Last month, I was finally tackling Feather Light (hardest raid triumph in the game btw) and there were plenty of people who obviously just didn't read the post and had to be either kicked or asked to leave. That's just a waste of my time. "1st Checkpoint - Triumph" Also, if I want a fast run of a raid/dungeon/gm, I want to make sure I don't get a player who utilizes builds from youtube shorts. If you don't like the application process, that says much more about your skill level than the game. Not to mention, you have the ability to join lfgs who don't require application. Edit: That first point was to simply emphasize the community's incompetence at times. Even though there were players who actually made it through our checks, some of them were still too lazy to actually READ the post they were joining, resulting in their removal. The application process is just a barrier to block 70% of the incompetency, but it helps.

I don't use it that much these days but every time I have its worked basically perfectly. You might have to leave one or two groups but overall I've been able to find what I was looking for. Some of the harder activities might be different though. And like other people have said, everyone should be able to choose who they play with and that's basically what the application process is for. People shouldn't have to be fooled into playing with someone who might not be prepared.

It's weird that there are people out there posting lfg's and then ignoring them when the fireteam is full, and also people joining and then not readying up. I tried 5 or 6 different times this weekend and got zero runs in.
