• Were some people really getting the whole tonic thing done in the first or second week? Either they ground the hell out of that or that's just strange. I still have quite a ways to go myself.

    • You might wanna swap your build. Getting multikills gives you a lot more materials. One 50 wave run should give you enough for about 20 green, 10 blue or 5 legendary potions.

    • The primary way of unlocking tonics is making them after completing the field assignments. I didn't even know you could unlock recipes by doing the activity. I unlocked every one a week ago... after being sick the entire 1st week.

        • If it takes you 40 to learn a new one and 100 hours to do it, then you're clearly doing it wrong. You can learn all of them in a week or if you're playing the right stuff a day or 2. Play any other mode that still drops the materials for all the other tonics, then do the onslaught ones.

I got that done fairly quick because I figured out they unlock every set # crafts of a lower tier tonic. Not week 1 but week 2 and I didn't grind onslaught. Only 5 out of 12(?) full decent attempts of expert, this onslaught is a lot easier than the original.

          •
Allowed me to unlock a SINGLE tonic recipe. I like a little grind , but there’s what? 40ish recipes to unlock? This is absolutely ridiculous. That’s close to 100 hours of onslaught at this rate just for the act 1 fieldworks.
I'm sorry but that's not true. All I can say is you must be doing something wrong. I have only done normal onslaught and completed all recipes plus all the field work quests. And I only play for a couple of hrs every other day. It certainly didn't take me anywhere near the amount of hours you are claiming.
