Hear me out Bungie. I understand giving players a challenge. The Puppeteer has way too much health. It would be reasonable, but the fact that it takes so much time and effort to even get to damage phase makes uber tank health the issue. There are simply too many ways your team can wipe to excuse all this. Let’s list them:
Normal enemies can kill you
Getting sniped by an enemy that has auto-aim can kill you
Radiation can kill you
Trip mines can kill you
The nuke wipe mechanic can kill you
The nuke glitching out of bounds can kill you
On top of all that, you have to survive all that TWICE to get to damage phase. Then in damage phase, you can get wiped by a random unavoidable lightning strike that can one-shot you even in a warlock well. But again, the Puppeteer is a tank, that teleports, so you have to focus on damage and his location, at the same time running around to avoid random lightning strikes. And if that doesn’t wipe you, again ANOTHER nuke wipe mechanic can, which can glitch out of bounds so you can’t dunk it.
And congrats, you end up doing enough damage for a 3-6 damage phase run.
All that time and effort and survival, it should be a 1-2 damage phase MAX. It just is not fun in its current state. Challenge shouldn’t take away from fun factor. It feels more challenging than raid encounters, and I don’t think that makes sense. So again, pls nerf the health. Thanks.

1 ReplyI would like to jump in and express my thoughts and what I have seen so far. This new dungeon, a lot of ppl are not even going to try to finish the last boss. Instead choose to do the other encounters instead. The last boss, the team that I ran with. We couldn't beat it, not lack of skill, weapons, or too low of light level... It was because of the poor mechanics, overpowered red bar adds, and being cheesed too many times... This game cheesed us at least 7 times... I actually have recorded one of the times where we killed dunking the nuke before the wipe mechanic kicked in... and still died for no reason. There are a LOT of issues I have to mention about this new dungeon, but instead I let others tell also... I will say if 50 ppl say the red bar adds are too powerful, Bungie I hope that you will fix this (one example). For me, I am not doing this dungeon again, until I hear it's fixed and I will tell others not to do it... It is not fun, or it's nothing but problemed. After spending 4 hours trying. I will not waste any more time... I have beaten the other dungeons many times over, this one I will not do again any time soon.

1 ReplyI think the lighting needs to be tuned and thats about it. I dont think the lighting should insta kill but should put you near death. Mayb 75% of health bar damaged. Enough time to move and regenerate if you dont step in another strike

5 RepliesM8, me and 2 guys almost 2-phased the Puppeteer recently with 1 using a Div, me using Titan Axes and Microcosm, and the 3rd using Pro Memoria. It really isn't that hard. I did 9.2m damage using Micro and Axes and thats not even close to the best methods. What r u doing in there, m8? Using Shadow Price and Riiswalker? 🤨🤦♂️

Use grand overture

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 10/25/2024 2:15:31 AMGot a new one for ya • deposit box to avoid Anomaly wave wipe bugged out on us near low % of her health, teammate tried putting nuke in then gave it to me, same thing.. No prompt.. Then we got wiped. Way to go bungie, all that long hard work and time spent erased because of a bad mechanic IMO that "put ball in to LOCK A DOOR" shouldn't be a thing, simply going in the room should of been enough and have the airlock close, why would you code it like that? So absurd

2 RepliesTL:DR I get it but would sadly say to just stick it out. I understand what you’re saying however I’m gonna disagree still. While I’d prefer the health changed for solo/duo/ trio runs(just revise health based on players like legendary campaigns) I feel Bungie would screw it up. You’re completely right that majority of players aren’t gonna be able to one or two phase a boss. Other players say that’s by design because if you’re good you should be able to do it easy. However I don’t think that’s necessarily why Bungie does the absorbent amounts of health. I think Bungie does the huge health pools because they don’t know how to handle power creep outside of sunsetting and while I hate sunsetting and LOVE power creep, the dungeon will last longer for this community’s enjoyment. Pit of Heresy is forgotten after a few months but I suspect GOTD and WR will be fondly remembered dungeons because people will continue to play them. Lastly, Bungie has a habit of screwing up. If they lowered the health pool they’d likely make the bosses TOO easy and then you’re just entering into a long glorified lost sector. You’ve got a better chance of asking Bungie to nerf the Lightning bolt amount or damage rather than lower the bosses health.

9 RepliesThey need to chill on instant kill mechanic. Save that for raids please.
-
16 million health btw. Up there with raid bosses
-
Master I agree, but normal is an easy 2 phase. I can easily hit 2.5M per phase with a super and Bait & Switch GL. Master it goes down to 850k lol
-
5 RepliesTether being enabled. would make the puppeteer a joke. Much in the same way it makes the warlord final boss easy as well.
-
8 RepliesIts a 3 phase fight almost every time, if it takes more than thats a skill issue. Theres 2 safe spots from lightning and even if you dont use them it isnt difficult to avoid it. Also it has the same health as Hefnd (about 16 million) so it really isnt a problem.
-
2 Replies6 phases?😂 sounds like a skill issue
-
I agree only for solo because this boss is such a headache on solo runs. Also the dungeon needs so many bug fixes it’s crazy
-
1 ReplyBut what will happen to bungies precious carry services aka streamers if bungie made the game enjoyable for the other 95% of players😆 🤣

Edited by Kiro - 13: 10/23/2024 8:42:44 PMY'all said the same thing with Ghosts of the Deep. Its fine. Zoomers these days...
-
The boss is a very easy two phase.
-
Every team I've been with for this guy we've been able to two or three phase him. If it takes you and a team three to six phases to kill him, maybe rethink your damage.
-
2 RepliesActual skill issue, there's already been videos of hunters 3 phasing final boss and titans have 2 phased it. I'll admit for a dungeon it's alot of steps before dps. But his health is fine, the damage phase is like 2 minutes long
-
We must be doing two entirely different dungeons 😂
-
People already solo 3 phased him And with a group its easily a 2 phase The only thing that might could use tuning is the lightning
-
Edited by DataButcher: 10/23/2024 2:48:16 AMGrand Overture in a Well on the metal box at front right makes for very comfortable & safe 2 phase 👍 Have done numerous clears with no mic LFGs, if one/two players have the mechanics down it’s pretty easy
-
I could see a 20-30% health nerf for both bosses. While a 2 or three phase is possible with a competent team, most of the lfg teams I get typically take 4-6 phases.
-
20 RepliesConsidering it can be one phased by a team and two phased solo, the health is fine where it is. Too many of you watch damage test videos on Caital and expect every boss should be super weak.
-
hard disagree
-
10 RepliesWhat? She can be one phased already, and most teams are 2 phasing her Yes she has a lot of health but the damage phase is extremely generous
