As a solo player I’m thrilled we are finally getting some attention though I have some issues. From my gameplay experience Strikes are way too easy or my Fireteam members just sword skate to the end boss room. Not Fun. Dungeons are just a little too difficult for the average solo player and they don’t have matchmaking options. Not Fun. Hearing about upcoming Solo Ops sounds almost perfect. Almost. I can’t speak for everyone but 10 minutes sounds awfully short. As a solo player right now my favorite activity is Onslaught: Salvation. 50 waves is perfect. Takes the right amount of time and there is actual stakes at play. We could die and wipe. Hasn’t happened but still. Honestly what I really want as a solo player is basically Dungeons with matchmaking.
You can absolutely make dungeons a little bit easier and add matchmaking. If folks with clans and friends want to continue to play normal and expert activities this won’t even interfere with them, they can select Normal or Expert which doesn’t have Matchmaking options.
Simple.
Of course I could be wrong and Solo Ops is more challenging and engaging than strikes, nightfalls, and dares. Cause each of those can be completed in about 12 minutes….

I like going solo sometimes when im just looking to play a little and not get into anything. In that spirit im also not trying to grind some seriously challenging objectives. Ill usually hit up the legend lost sector when im in that mood. Sometimes even master is a good fit for an easy lost sector. I even feel like the rewards are solid for the requirements. Im excited for solo ops to expand our options. But i feel like solo strikes and advanced nightfalls would be a low effort solution. A lot of us have been asking for matchmaking to be optional on everything for a long time. I understand why they dont want forced matchmaking on higher difficulty content. But couldnt we make it optional? Let us solo or matchmake as we see fit? An easy mode for dungeons would be nice. But i dont think thats gonna happen. Im not good enough to casually solo dungeons. i would love to jump into them more often. Dungeons are my all time favorite pve experience. But id imagine making a lower difficulty option would involve all sorts of unforeseen complications.

14 RepliesEdited by Avoodle Kadoodle Noodle: 10/16/2024 11:01:57 PMI get it solo players want matchmaking for pretty much everything in the game. At the same time though the game has “fireteam finder”. Something they added to help people find other people to do activities. Which is also something a lot of “solo” players don’t even try to use.

2 RepliesAs a solo player I am perfectly fine with Normal play because of work I can't play as much as I like. Dungeons I'm ok with Normal because it forces me to figure out my loadout, and I've been able to clear them. I mostly do Lost Sectors solo Legend/Master. I've also tried Solo Grandmaster Nightfalls, making it to the boss and dying. 😅

As a solo player your favourite activity is onslaught. You say 50 waves is perfect. Then say "we" could die and wipe. Solo means playing on your own not using matchmaking or pre made team. I don't get asking for matchmaking in dungeons as solo player. Once you match make you are not a solo player.

1 ReplyEdited by Obi-Juan: 10/16/2024 10:38:32 PMSorry but dungeons don't need to be easier in the way you're asking. Exotic missions exist. Exotic missions are literally just easier dungeons where the exotic literally drops after one run. They don't need matchmaking just use fireteam finder. What I do think is that dungeons can be made easier through fireteam scaling aka - Multiplicity. That would be nice if they added that soon. Keep dungeons as difficult for a 3 man as they want, but start allowing people who want to solo them to not have to deal with a boss having 3x more health than a 3 man. If an activity has any more complexity to it than just shooting enemies, it really can't be matchmade. The Coil and Deep Dive have shown that. Those activities were hell in matchmaking because blueberries wouldn't have their text chat turned on and no matter how much you melee'd or shot them to make them do the mechanic in the activity, they would ignore you. That doesn't happen with fireteam finder because they have actually sought out other people.

1 ReplySolo ops is looking interesting, after reading through the Dev post the plans for enemy spawns and dynamics makes it sound exactly like Warhammer: Space marine 2, all they need to do now is announce unique faction units that can grab or suppress you, or change current ones to fit those rolls. As for Dungeon matchmaking, it wouldn't work for many reasons. Key ones being if I'm looking to get a specific drop and just want to do the first encounter for it and load in joining a group on the second encounter I'm just leaving, or if I load in and complete the first I'm just leaving that too. Not to mention loading into a dungeon with people who don't want to communicate and have no clue on what they're doing.

2 RepliesYou think the solo ops will have the vanguard ops pathfinder in it?

6 RepliesA solo player wants more matchmaking options? So you don’t want to be a solo player but also don't want to use the resources at hand to create your own fireteam to complete said activities?
