Kell of Kells

Alright, so this post was originally supposed to be out before the Episode launched, but the opportunity to catch an early (for my country) screening of Transformers One couldn't wait. Now I'm reading through the Episode page and;
Reverberations of Power Fikrul has declared himself Kell of Kells. Guardians and their allies must defend the future of House Light.
This was meant to be the same unbridedled copium I spew every time Mithrax comes into play about the Kell of Kells prophecy and here Bungie are, referencing it for the first time since... well, Beyond Light, where its mentioned that Variks gave up his attempted claim offscreen. For those unfamiliar with this prophecy, we only have fragments but it goes as so;
"What Whirlwind whisked away will be rewrought, and every kell and ketch will kneel to the Kell of Kells." —Prophecy, House of Rain

"Before him, foes will flee or fall. But he will heal the houses, make them whole." —Prophecy, House of Rain

"The Great Machine will marvel, moved by might, and come to crown him Kell of Kells." —Prophecy, House of Rain
Now, for our purpose only that last fragment matters. Which, for those wondering, they come from the descriptions of the quest chain from House of Wolves. The Great Machine is the Traveler, as the Eliksni called it. Since the Echo has been ejected from the portal in the aftermath of the Witness's defeat and Fikrul has claimed it, I suppose he has seen fit to fall back on the prophecies of old. But why does this seemingly random return to this prophecy matter? Well, I have been theorising since we initially heard the prophecy that it actually entails the rise of the first Eliksni Lightbearer, with the recognition mentioned from the Great Machine being a Ghost. Since his introduction to the story proper back in Splicer, I have made a post or comment every time Mithrax shows up predicting that he will die and be the first Eliksni Guardian. I even had this post planned out due to his affliction with Nezerac's Curse as a potential cause of his death. But now? With the game finally bringing back the Kell of Kells prophecy and giving us the third claimant to the title (second if you discount Variks, who never done anything with it) it seems highly likely that this might be the season this prophecy actually gets resolved, one way or another.

 • I think this season will end with Mithrax getting revived by the light

 • While I fully agree with you that Mithraks is probably the Kell of Kells, we do have to take into consideration two things 1. The prophesy could just be fake, false, or otherwise outright wrong. The lore has been known to falsely lead us before, or otherwise be retconned. While I don’t think the Kell of Kells prophesy will be directly retconned due to previous in game significance, I wouldn’t put it past Bungie to change or add on to it. 2. Fikrul could be the Kell of Kells. Unite all the houses. He fills this role by making Scorn from any and all houses. While it might primarily be made up of the House of Kings, we see House Salvation Eliksne be turned into Scorn. before him Foes will flee or fall. We currently have an empowered Fikrul who House Salvation was actively running from. This paired with the fact that prisoner or not, he will turn you into Scorn finishes the “Fall” part of this part of the prophesy. From what we know, the process of “Scornification” is permanent. The Great machine will be moved by his might…crown him the Kell of Kells. As you suggested before, a Ghost could be this recognition, but some key words I would like to point out said by Fikrul. He said the Echo he had gave him the power of light, or more particular, the power to change others. This is an aspect of Light Energy, being Creation, so just as much as the Ghost could be a gift of the traveler, couldn’t this echo also be a “gift” (I understand that the Traveler did not actively bequest Fikrul the Echo, but it being of and from the traveler could be viewed as a gift.)
