Destiny 2: The Game Where Full-Auto Guns Are Basically Sniper Rifles Now?

Alright, Guardians, we need to talk. And no, it's not about the latest nerf or buff that’s got everyone in a tizzy—it’s something much deeper. Something that’s slowly, insidiously creeping into the very fabric of the game we once loved: full-auto weapons with laser-like recoil at long distances. Yes, you heard that right, and I know I’m not alone in wondering, "Since when did Destiny 2 become a game where an auto rifle could hit targets halfway across the map without breaking a sweat?" Back in the day (insert grumpy veteran voice here), weapons used to require a little thing called skill. You wanted to beam someone from across the map? You grabbed your scout or pulse rifle, you lined up your shots, and you prayed to the Traveler you didn’t get flinched. But now? Why bother? You can just spray and pray, letting your auto rifle do all the work for you. Where’s the recoil? Where’s the skill ceiling? Where’s the challenge? This isn’t just an issue of balance—it’s catering to casuals. Yeah, I said it. It's another classic case of the game throwing a bone to the players who can't be bothered to learn recoil control or, heaven forbid, spec into stability. Back in my day (yes, I’m doubling down on the old-timer thing), if you wanted your gun to feel like a laser, you had to work for it. Mods, perks, masterwork the weapon, pour in your time and resources. But now? Nah, just slap on any ol' full-auto and voilà, you're beaming people across the map like you're wielding a scout rifle with a magnifying scope. I mean, it’s almost charming how little the game asks of you these days. Why aim when you can just spray? Why bother with positioning when your gun handles everything for you? It’s practically a warm hug from the devs, wrapping us all in a blanket of "Don’t worry, you’re doing great, sweetie!" Well, newsflash: some of us don’t want the game to hold our hands. Some of us actually enjoy mastering the art of weapon control and range management. Crazy concept, I know. And don’t even get me started on range. Since when did we decide that full-auto weapons should be shredding people at ranges that make snipers nervous? We’re talking about weapons that, in any reasonable universe, should struggle to hit the broad side of a Cabal at long distance. But nope, not here. Destiny 2’s full-auto rifles are like precision tools, painting targets across the map with zero recoil to speak of. It's almost like the game is saying, "You know what? Let’s make everyone feel like a god, even if they can’t aim for beans." Look, I’m all for balance and accessibility, but this? This just feels like a lazy way out. If you're going to give players the ability to shred people from crazy distances with full-auto guns, at least make them work for it. Want to beam someone from long range with zero recoil? Fine—spec everything into stability, make sacrifices, choose perks wisely. Don’t just hand it out like candy at Halloween. At the end of the day, it’s not that we don’t want casual players to have fun. It’s that we don’t want the game to lose what made it special: the skill, the challenge, and the satisfaction of earning that perfect shot. So, Bungie, if you’re listening (and let’s be real, you’re probably not): please, for the love of the Light, bring back some recoil to these full-auto monsters. Make us work for those long-range engagements again. Until then, I’ll be here, grumbling in the corner, shaking my fist at the sky, and pretending this is all just a bad dream. Catch you in the Crucible, Guardians—just try not to laser me from across the map with your no-skill full-auto, alright? Stay charming, A disgruntled yet still hopeful Guardian
