Armor 3.0 is bad

Adding a special ammo stat like in what world what that make the game better? I can’t even conceive of a reason to change something that already functions right it already has a build crafting investment for players. Also not getting rid of stat like intellect entirely so we can reappropriate those “dump” stats is mindless for pve. So with the current system unless cooldown base at tier 3 is removed and is just base zero with what is live currently speccing into a 200 stat inflicts negative cooldown modifiers on all stats that are below tier 3. These are absolute trash changes if armor cannot roll higher than 68+. These changes plus with banes coming amping up the artificial difficulty you are on track to tank your player population to even lower lows. Players want new, memorable, repeatable and fun activities challenge and engagement bloat will not fix what is currently broken and killing the destiny 2 playerbase. Moving destiny into the direction of dark souls the fps rpg will only make the game reach lower lows. Since the bringing back the challenge article the game has overall seen massive declines year on year expansion on expansion it’s become insufferable. People do not at the end of any grind in destiny whether it’s raid titles or exotic weapons chase ever want to participate in those activities again and actively choose to never go back to them because the difficulty/challenge is not fun but extremely frustrating aggravating and simply not worth ever repeating at that high of a level of challenge. It becomes work and a chore. For example during pantheon once the community I was in completed it no one not even for close friends could we get enough people to run the -20 it was in some peoples eyes too much to ask. This is what I’m talking about people get left behind and it’s not even because they’re not good enough it’s simply the balance kills the replay-ability and simply it’s so overblown no one wants to revisit the content and any reward for overtuned cheap content is not worth it in the end. Challenge needs to take a backseat if stuff like the banes are what bungie defines as challenge they’re nothing but artificial ohk wipe mechanics that will just cause people to go and play something that entertains them rather than punishes them during their time playing. Destiny as a niche game that caters to only the hardcore crowd won’t survive and my proof is just look at the numbers since post lightfall. Lower lows ahead.

  • Armor 3.0 and difficulty changes While it's understandable to have concerns about changes to a well-established system, Armor 3.0 offers significant potential for customization and strategic depth. The introduction of special ammo as a stat allows for more nuanced build-crafting, enabling players to tailor their characters to specific playstyles and challenges. This can lead to increased replayability and a more engaging experience. Regarding the removal of Intellect and the impact on cooldown modifiers, it's important to consider the broader implications of the system. While it may require some adjustment, the new system can potentially open up new build possibilities and encourage experimentation. As players learn to optimize their builds, the potential rewards in terms of power and efficiency can be substantial. It's also worth noting that the increased difficulty, particularly with the introduction of Banes, can be seen as a positive step for those seeking a more challenging experience. While it may not appeal to everyone, it provides a way for experienced players to test their skills and push their limits. Moreover, the game's diverse content offers something for players of all skill levels, from casual to hardcore. Ultimately, the success of any game depends on a balance between challenge and accessibility. By offering a range of difficulties and playstyles, Destiny 2 can cater to a wider audience. While some players may prefer a more forgiving experience, others may crave a greater sense of challenge. By carefully balancing these elements, Bungie can ensure that Destiny 2 remains a vibrant and engaging game for years to come.
