First off, I'm completely in favor of making our stats mean something for our build crafting. I'm glad Frontiers intends to shake things up in such a significant way.
Now for my critiques of the new system.
Throwing out our old armor Stat system so that we can "Go beyond 100" sounds cool, but all we're really doing is making a new cap at 200.
Wouldn't it make more sense to keep the current system and give bonuses after hitting 51-100?
200 just sounds much more arbitrary than 100, imo. Eventually, we'll have to "Go beyond 200" and that'll be goofy.
Changing the name of Disciple to "Grenade" for simplicity is unnecessary. What if Discipline doesn't just affect Grenades in the future? What if it also grants bonuses to dexterity or reload speed?
Artifice Armor. I really don't see how this will work at all with this system. Sure, you could abandon it, but it'll definitely take some of the thrill of doing Master Dungeons and getting that coveted armor.
Exotics aren't going to work with the new system when Apollo launches? Then don't do the new system, or at least just do what I suggested earlier and keep the stat cap at 100. The idea that this is for simplicity while Exotics are confusing flies in the face of this whole endeavor.
If anything I've stated above is disregarded, at least let us Forge old armor so it can acquire Set traits. This can require some form of currency, like a cipher.
And that's all I've got. I'd really hate to see the baby get thrown out with the bathwater here. You guys are really on to something.

2 RepliesI’ve spent WAY WAY TOO much money on this game and WAY WAY TOO much time farming and grinding for this to basically tell me, “All you worked for is just trash now so… thanks for giving us money and wasting all your time day and night and full weekends away from friends.” Just save all this for a D3 installment. What a waste of my life for four or five straight years. I thought leaving D1 and coming to D2 was a positive move; what a total waste of time spending all day and all night every day farming Exotic Class Items and working hard to solo GM’s. I’m moving on to other games. This ruined my entire D2 experience.

The core efficacy will be d100... with every point granting benefits. Then also d100 101-200 for specialization... with every point granting benefits. Armor tiers, using... dealing dmg, receiving dmg - to grant stat benefits over time as you gain experience and level up your armor alongside the weapon enhancement system. That's the future. "Artifice Armor. I really don't see how this will work at all with this system". +15 stat points and every point matters. Meaning... it won't be used to round out or ascend a tier Only. Every +3 will matter no matter where you allocate those points. So... artifice is getting better. A full set of artifice with origin traits is going to be great. If you get that set, 2 set bonuses + 15 stat points. That's the future. "Exotics aren't going to work with the new system when Apollo launches"? Incorrect. I think I answered everything. I'm excited 😇 👍💠.

What in the name of everything that is holy, is this going to do if we will forever remain underpowered for every bit of content in the game? I'll repeat what many other players have stated. Sunsetting without using the word sunsetting.

It's another grind increase. I'd been holding out hope before this change. But this is my line. I've already stopped playing, but now it's time to stop watching. Nail in the coffin. RIP Bungie Pt. 2.

4 RepliesSine I bought the pass I’m going to finish up the last two episodes and then I’m out. Kind of burnt out anyway honestly, but I’m really interested in seeing what happens with the dreadnaught episode.

100-200 does something completely different to 0-100.

Good questions.

1 ReplyEdited by Dredgen Truth: 10/1/2024 6:53:54 PMI suspect artifice armor will still be a part of the new system, but they are likely gonna want us to grind out more. The big problem currently, is that once you've got a few sets of artifice armor, and a lot of us do have enough to make basically any build we can think of, there is literally no reason to get excited for armor ever again. The changes to stats are meant to make it so it's still possible, but not necessarily a good idea, to carry our old armor into the future. It's gonna be like the change to armor 3.0. We will inevitably leave behind the old sets, because the payoff for the new stuff is too big to ignore. Plus, this gives them the opportunity to go back and revitalize old dungeons by giving their artifice armor set bonuses. Kind of like giving old raid weapons origin traits like they've been doing over the past couple years.

1 ReplyKeep in mind this is all like 8 months out, so I’m sure any kinks will be ironed out by then. Honesty I just hope that armor will have MORE stats on them if there is now the potential to go to 200. If not, there will just be more dump stats. As a titan, I’ll want my strength to be at 200 and my mobility to be at 0, but if there is no way to do that then idk.

1 ReplyMy assumption is that they want us to take off our Artifice Armor we have already ground countless hours for, so they bumped it up past our current limit. Personally I think the set bonuses are more than enticing enough to make me grind new armor out, without needing to farm Master Dungeon bosses. The worst part about that is the encounters are bad to farm for the most part outside of maybe a handful of Boss checkpoints, all because Bungie is too stingy, which is the bigger issue here.
