The real reason for implementing contest mode for the Dungeon in the way they did is only for streamers.
Just think, why not just release both contest mode and normal mode at the same time? It would have caused no issues. People who want to do contest mode have that option and people who want to run normal right away can as well.
The only people that this would affect are streamers. And Bungie just can't have that.
All this does is add evidence that Bungo is once again giving streamers preference.
Edit: For people with the argument "why can't you just wait 2-3 hours, for the normal mode"
First, I have no intention of playing the new dungeon, I haven't logged on in months.
Second, You really don't understand why people don't want to wait a couple additional hours to play after its release? I mean c'mon, people paid for it, they want to play asap. Why do you think that every DLC drop people are unable to log into D2 for hours because of how many people are trying to login at once.
Nearly everyone who has made this argument already admitted that plan on playing contest mode. So then Bungo's decision doesn't affect you and you can hope on right away. So just try and put yourselves in their shoes, the people who will end up waiting for a multitude of different reasons. People who paid to get in just like you but now have to wait because Bungie decided to change the way Dungeons are normally released.
This is just an outside perspective, I'm fully aware just how much of a non-issue this really is.

Regular dudes not streamers were worlds first in the newest raid. Anyone who works as a team can complete it.

2 RepliesIf you dont play then you dont need to care and should really just move on with life. The reason is simple, people wanted it and Bungie are testing it in way that gives both groups something.

2 RepliesI love how half you kids on these forums are completely terrified of streamers and the other half worship them and repeat their opinions as fact. It’s clear what side you’re on.

4 RepliesContest mode always creates a lot of buzz. That's what they want. People complaining about not being able to play the new dungeon for 24h are ridiculous as no one prevents them from checking out contest mode.

Anyone who disagrees is just a hive-minded drone

The real reason for implementing contest mode for the Dungeon in the way they did is only for streamers.
It's not only for streamers but it was mainly for them so they could get views. The game is losing its player base slowly but surely and so far this business has made a lot more poor decisions for the game as expected than good ones that would improve the game. The ones that finally woke up and stopped letting themselves be manipulated by this business with the physiological nonsense won't be returning no matter what this business does. This business burnt their bridge, and that is one thing in life you never, ever do.

5 RepliesIt's ALWAYS tHe StReAmErS fault. Their victims are billions.

1 ReplyYes but no exactly. Streams are free advertisement. So whenever a game is “give” streamers what they want it simply to benefit the developers or the game itself
-
1 Reply1st, you’re probably right. Why do dungeons need a contest mode to begin with? 2nd, I ah… stopped caring. It’s fine, let there be contest mode.

4 RepliesEdited by Astroniox: 9/30/2024 7:45:29 AMWdym it wouldnt have caused any issues? Teams could jsut launch normal, learn all the mechanics and then launch contest. That will ruin the whole point of contest mode and both runs combined probably wouldnt take more than 2 hours lmao.

1 Reply“I don’t plan on playing the dungeon at all” “People who have brought up this topic have said they will play contest” …? So who are you complaining on behalf of?
-
9 RepliesI'm not a streamer and i'm extremely excited for contest. Normal mode will be available soon as the first 3 teams complete it....
-
18 RepliesBro normal mode can be selected after its completed by 3 teams first on contest mode first. You are fine. Quit complaining.
-
Normal mode is always easier, can’t have someone blaze through new content then tell people best strategies for dps checks?!?!?!

4 RepliesEdited by Meow Fairy: 9/30/2024 10:02:34 AMI am pretty sure you can wait 1 or 2 hours for the normal mode to be released. Think about it this way. " Streamers"gets one day of content made for them. And casual players gets the rest of their life to play said content in normal mode. Seems pretty fair (I say streamers.. But all of my friends and i are going to do the contest mode for fun as well and we sure arent streamers)

Idk imma try and do it
