Horde Modes Node

Dungeons, raids, modifiers.. all fine. However, for Me, historically the most rewarding, intentional, and least problematic matchmaking experience has been the horde modes. Think about it… Escalation Protocol. Not only one of the best loot tables ever… but, also, really was the pre-cursor to the 12-Man witness mission. Though it was an instance glitch, but, much like The Craftening players showed what they want by being willing to go through elaborate hoops to get a larger instance. The Menagerie. Intentionality, again, Loot Table. And also the pre-cursor to the “deck” style seasonal unlock grids. With the exception that players could be intentional about the weapons and armor they grind. Niobe Labs / Bergusia Forge. Once again, some intentionality, and one of the best loot tables in the game. ALSO, one of the few times I really remember people actually grinding for Shaders, alongside the Glowhoo shader grind. Infinite / Haunted Forest. Really the pre-cursor for Deep Dives. Not really on par with the others as far as loot but it introduced the possibility of procedural generation and an endless fight to achieve levels higher than others, with a slight time trial element. The Sundial took this to another level with the pathways through time. Sundial had a great loot table. To me, Deep Dives aren’t so great but combining the procedural branches along with the rogue mechanics, along with loot intentionality.. there is potential there. Onslaught. Once again… a marriage of it’s predecessors. And, again, an awesome loot system with lots of enemy go boom. Could benefit from some randomization.. especially the pyramid ship run gets old. But, you could just add 1 map every now and then and I’d keep making things go boom. It’s the only thing that gets me out of bed to try out new builds currently. It needs matchmaking for hard mode too. They all would need universal matchmaking.. esp since there’s match making for the Vex speedrun activity, which is more tricky than all of the mechanics in these modes. These are all highlight moments of their perspective releases, and I’m willing to bet far more players engaged with them than the raids, or dungeons. Soooo… all of that to say… can we has them back, please?! I’d rank having these in a node to just have mindless fun for shiny loot above most other things, as far as what I’m actually going to sink time into. Grinding horde modes for “shiny” weapons > Run dungeon dozens of times for 2% chance at exotic I’m NOT saying the modifiers and other changes to Dungeons and Raids aren’t cool or important, but I am saying the majority of players would likely want something ALSO that is Simple, Fun, Rewarding, Easy to Matchmake and jump into.
