The point system in comp needs some serious work. I’m talking about the biggest overhaul to the PvP ever, this problem needs all hands on deck and needs to be corrected before the new episode starts.
It makes absolutely ZERO SENSE that I can win a game and gain 49 points then lose a game and lose 129 points. The math on that does not add up at all. The point system win/lose needs to be static, the SAME VALUE EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have been stuck at adept 2 for 3 weeks because every game I win I get less than 70 points, but every game I lose, I lose over 100 points, no matter how well I did or how close the game was , nothing. If no other factors will play a role in points gained vs lost then it needs to be static, same points gained every win, same points lost every loss.
I should not have to win 3 game to make up the points I lost after losing a match. There’s no way in any universe that is viable. It needs to change now.
You want more people to play then you need to make this point system make sense because right now it absolutely atrocious and overly punishes every loss.
No one in their right mind will want to play comp with the way the point system works right now.

1 ReplyEdited by Kiro - 13: 9/24/2024 9:25:25 PMDont worry I kept the receipts before you hid your games. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Pgcr/15532961747 https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Pgcr/15532976192 https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Pgcr/15532950440 3 of the most recent games seems like enough to make a point, but I got more as well. In case you try to defend your self saying the account was breached/hacked.

You do realise that people already had seen your win trading history before you woke up and locked it?

Edited by Vapor: 9/23/2024 12:52:07 AMIf you're gonna cheat by win trading hide your stats . Good lord this is embarrassing.

This is the moment where you hide your match history...

All things considered with OP's game history. I still think there is a valid point made. It's like a hamster wheel, until at some point you decide to just not play or the damn thing throws you off.

I agree the point system makes 0 sense. You can win 6 games in a row and lose 3 and be back where you started p

The math on that does not add up at all. The point system win/lose needs to be static, the SAME VALUE EVERY SINGLE TIME
What do you expect from bungie? Even mobile games have common sense to make win/lose point to be equal

The score system including sbmm is build on your cr score. This score can be found on trials report or other website. The cumulative score of you’re team determines if you lose or win many points. This also determine the match devide between the teams. This can be offset by team matchmaking. The issue is not bungie score system the issue is there initially matchmaking score. Some players are like 1500 cr sore. And there kd are around 3. While others with 2200 cr score can have a kd of 1.7 this means bungie thinks that the player with 2200 is miles better then the 3 kd players this starts the snowball. Of to players with 1500 against 1 2200 player.

1 ReplyBungie had a decent Comp ranking system that only needed some tuning. They foolishly modeled their revised system on that of Halo Infinite with its Trueskill 2 rank system that killed Halo Infinite not long after it launched. It is a stupid system that locks a player into a rank that is nearly inescapable. As soon as you near the next high rank, or get slightly within it, the game then places you in impossible to win matches. You lose your progress and waste more hours grinding.

Most people in their right mind have left the game.
-
It is nonsensical. It should be a win equals two losses, so you feel progress with a win but penalised if you have a losing streak. The current system is inexplicable
-
They also need to sort the Match making out, I've just played 5 games in a row and lost 4 out of those 5 because the lobby was heavily unbalanced I went positive once and all the others the other team had atleast 2.0kda one game mon of the other team went below 3

Yea, when you get down to the wire and hit adept 1 it’s almost as if you’re not allowed to lose a single game and doesn’t matter what kind of streak you’ve been on and it’s super frustrating because it’ll give a trickle of points for each win; then one loss and it’s all gone. It’s very irritating but kind of makes sense until you hit promotion series and it stops making sense again—you do that grind, realize you can’t lose a game once you’re adept I, finish the rank and now you gotta win 2/3 games still?! The point system is fair in my opinion but Bungie needs to explicitly say how the system works 🤷🏽♀️ “It’s a grind until you’re about to reach ascendant, then it’s like a harder version of Trials where you can’t lose but your almost always facing people at, or above, your skill level.”

They take less points if they think you should rank higher

3 RepliesMy gripe is losing points when a player leaves your team at the start of a match, where’s the protection that’s supposed to be there
