I'm not going to go into explanation like the 200 other posts here about power level cap increasing but I'll just say the only reason I grinded for the 2000 cap was so I could kick back and relax after and it gives me a sense of achievement and completion. I don't think bungie realizes that most d2 players are completionists and feel a sense of achievement after completing/obtaining the most they can (power level) and don't want to keep grinding a never ending cap. As if d2 hasn't lost enough players already with the layoffs, this is how you dig yourself in a hole and never get back out.

"players have been able to steadily climb in Power...due to the absence of a Power level cap increase...we’re confirming today that we also won’t be raising the Power level cap in Season 22. We’ve seen a ton of positive feedback on this decision from players who appreciate being able to play at their own pace, rather than feeling compelled to chase Pinnacles each week." Guess they dont care about our positive feedback anymore or things we appreciate. They deserve the negative outcry they are getting for this

The fact that they keep heading on the same destructive path instead of looking for a new one is more of the issue here. If players keep dropping off because of how bad things are with the game, how is this going to give them an incentive to come back let alone stick around? There is grind in games that have a set path that gives players the incentive to want to play. Then there is Destiny's grind that has no meaning. Sure, it will give some players something to do, but if it has come down to chasing numbers to give the players something to do, Huston, we have a major problem. The problem I see with this business is that they spend way too much time looking for all the wrong things in gaming in hopes of keeping people around instead of looking at what improves the gamer's experience playing the game. Constantly being reset, raising the level just to re-enter activities that has been going on far too long is not an incentive when the loot, progression system, and power in this game has no meaning at all. I bet people are leaving the game because the way this developer designed it makes them feel their time is just being wasted when there are plenty of other games that have less content that offer a hell of a lot more incentive.

The only thing that beat it was seeing a 400lbs man do a perfect cartwheel.

1 ReplyWhat really pisses me off is I just barely finished bringing everything in my vault up to 2000 and burned a lot of resources doing it and now I've got to piss away hundreds of upgrade modules (and the resources to buy them) to push up another 10 power? Eff all that. Bungie has me ready to throw away this account and move on. The one lesson they have taught me is to never waste my time engaging with another live service game ever again.

3 RepliesI hope they don’t change their mind. 10 light levels to grind isn’t the end of the world

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Did they back down on legend engrams No They grew a spine and stopped listening to casual backlash -
I don't want them to, I want Sony to see what they are dealing with here and that is an incompetent developer. I want the player base to drop off because then and only then this business will maybe wake up and take things more seriously or the game will be shut down. This is a wake-up call to them should have taken place years ago. They have been allowed way too much freedom and they only seem to do better when they are forced to do their job.
