Title says it all. My favorite moments in Destiny were when I could play the game and not have to worry about my light level. (like the entirety of last year once I reached the cap) Nobody wants to grind light level every season in 2024. The sheer amount of backlash proves that. The changes to those increases last year were such a highlight. People have been tired of the power grind for YEARS. I personally have talked to people in the community that have said THEY WOULD ONLY COME BACK if Bungie removed the power level system entirely. So much for this new era of "listening to the community".

11 RepliesPower grind will keep me playing the game more. No power grind led to me taking extended breaks.

Forsaken Uber alles 👍

1 ReplySo your favourite time in destiny was when no one was playing, in 1 of the worst expansions ever.

If this past year was most fun you’ve had playing destiny then opinion disregarded
So much for this new era of "listening to the community".
The destiny community is one of the most divided communities I've ever seen. If you think the destiny community has agreed on anything largely as a collective since "year one bad" you've got to be delusional. And the forum is a very very small portion of the community, most of them exclusively here to whine. If you think this echo chamber is any kind of actionable feedback then [refer to first part]

4 RepliesI want to grind power leveĺ, it gives incentive to play more of the game. If you actually look back to last year after people hit power cap they stopped playing most activities. Youd play for the ritual weapon then stop only playing for the seasonal content. Having a reason to not just play crucible actually keeps me going and stops me from burning out as fast.

The power level grind coming back isnt the issues, it's that you are still gonna be capped below that point...so the extra levels don't matter
-
Same, I loved not having to grind every single season last year. It made it so much easier to just focus on enjoying the game. Hearing that it's being reintroduced is seriously making me question whether I even want to keep playing Destiny this year. That's how much I hate it.

9 RepliesPeople really need to stop using all-encompassing terms like "nobody" or "everyone." Despite the fact that I don't want to either and whatever you might believe, you do not speak for the entire Destiny player base.

14 Replies“Waaaah im complaining about 10 power level increase bungie do something or i’ll still play the game waaaaaaah”

It’s a horrible experience. You play old content that’s already been exhausted and hasn’t changed since it was released just to make your number go up so the game feels the way it did before the cap increase. And the last couple levels take forever because there’s no duplicate protection or whatever. You can spend weeks needing a pair of boots that just won’t drop. And that feels TERRIBLE. The increase isn’t meaningful enough to actually matter. So why even do it at all? It’s materials and gear that I have to go get and infuse just for the sake of infusing. Arguably the worst system in the game and they’re bringing it back.

1 ReplyMy happiest time was season of the seraph when I would solo seraphs shield often and upgrade revision zero. I got a lot better in PvP and it always seemed like there was fun to be had.
-
See if you were sad that you couldn't grind it anymore then they wouldn't have did the change.
-
I would like to submit for consideration that as a trashcan no-life PvP player it is beyond me how people think their time played isn't being respected or that they don't have enough "freedom." Where were all of you when they came for the PvP trashcans? Exactly. Yesterday's TWID was the worst news some of you could have gotten. For me it was a Thursday.

Edited by iCypher: 9/20/2024 11:36:29 PMThe happiest I have ever been in Destiny is when I wasn't playing. When people say why I still play Destiny 2 I say it's because I hate myself and support a company that doesn't care.

2 Repliesyou mean the moment the game start dying with the ultra casuals systems? spoiler you don't need grind levels, especially since the base 2000 will be ok for all activity outside trials
-
I just recently came back to D2 after a long break. I haven't been farming pinnacles or caring much at all about my lvl. Mostly just run strikes/missions. Just enjoying the filthy casual life after living for the loot for so many years. It's been a way more enjoyable experience compared to when I would grind dlc as fast as possible to reach max lvl

same here.
