I just completed Warlords Ruin solo as one of the last requirements to get to Guardian Rank 11. I played for 6 hours straight last and could not beat the final boss so I went to sleep and tried again this morning. Beat the final boss within an hour only to find out that it didn't count as solo because I didn't do it in one sitting. Bungie, this is garbage. I think its a punishment to people who don't have 6-8 hours straight to play. Some of your player base has families, jobs, etc that prevent them from playing a game for 8 hours straight. I am disappointed that all the time and sweat I put into this dungeon was a waste.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
They got to rank 10, but can't solo a Dungeon Players like these are examples of why Guardian Rank is a joke and not a representation of individual skill -
2 RepliesAll of the dungeons in the game require you to get the completion in one sitting for the solo triumph. It's always been that way.

It's a hard one for sure!! Until 11th Oct, this is the only one I'm yet to solo. I'm going to reattempt at some point soon - but this was the tactic (which I seem to be ignoring here) when running the others... get the pre-dps encounter set to run easily. If you make getting to dps as easy as possible then it doesn't matter how many dps phases you need. The reason I'm not following my own advice is because 2/3 encounters can be a little bit of a lottery at times (finding the eyes/capping the zone, and surviving the hex/capping the zone)... I just don't trust myself to do it successfully the next time etc... so will push dps instead. This is the part I need to improve... you might find some benefit in figuring out where your runs are going wrong and figuring out where to improve.

2 RepliesBut you clearly said that you played for 6 hours chief. So which one is it? Have the time to play 6 hours or don't have the time?🙄🤦

If it is taking you six to eight hours to solo clear a Dungeon you need to find those areas where you can make reasonable improvements to reduce the time needed for a single sitting completion. • Survivability over DPS: Ignore the YouTube videos where players fly through a Solo Dungeon run in under an hour using ridiculous DPS builds and risky playstyles; you should be aiming for a sub three hour run. Alter your build to prioritize survivability, adapt your tactics to utilize cover as much as possible and take your time between damage phases to regain your Super and stock up on ammo. Taking ten damage phases to clear a boss in a single, safe attempt will be faster than trying to two phase the same boss over fifty attempts. • Practice the Mechanics to Understand the Mechanics: If you’re having trouble with a specific encounter, get yourself a checkpoint and practice that encounter for maybe in a given day. Spending too much time practicing will cause you to burn out and will lock you into a given mindset. Giving yourself plenty of time away from a particular problem to focus on other things in your life improves your ability to reassess the issue, coming up with novel solutions. (As an example for Warlord’s Ruin in particular, many players have complained about the Hex mechanic during the Final encounter in which you have to pass the debuff to an invulnerable mob without letting them hit you back without realizing that these mobs can be Blinded, allowing you to smack them and run off to safety while they stumble about aimlessly.) Invest time in practicing in small amounts to save yourself from blowing a huge chunk of time slamming your head into the wall in a big, fruitless push.
