Checkpoint in Encore Please
I was working on the Encore mission for the story progress. Bungie decides they want this mission "big" so it takes an absurd amount of time if you're going out of you're way to do the secret stuff. I finally make it to the final boss after over an hour of work and almost kill it, only for the servers to have a hiccup and I'm sent all the way back to the beginning.
This is absolute nonsense.

Has any exotic mission had checkpoints ? No It's the shortest and easiest exotic mission on Destiny history, doesn't need checkpoints -

2 RepliesThere’s a group called Discord LFG Every 5-10 minutes you will see people are posting Encore @final boss /join All you have to do is to copy/paste those lines in your chat thats it and there are many people doing it.

Why bother it's timegated. Just do it once all the secrets and collectables are actually possible to get. Of course I have now often just skipped the stuff after many weeks of waiting. By then all the surprises are spoiled and the content creators have run it into the ground with vids. Oh and the guns are already nerfed by then as well

1 ReplyDon't even bother grinding for a weapon you will probably use once or twice as it will be useless in most activities. It will just sit in your vault. Don't waste your time on this.

Check points have been an issue with Destiny from day one Bungie does not believe in them as it gives too much control to the player and that has to be avoided at all costs when the game relies on grind.

3 RepliesI tried this mission. During the hydra boss, the thing you have to shoot to knock it's shield down didn't spawn when it got to about half health. After that I just turned the game off.

Shows how unwilling Bungle is to respond to their customers. It's not just how long it is, but how boring it is. Once you figure out the blue and green keys and the jumping part the rest is pure grind.

They named the mission "Encore" (Again) They are making you repeat it and mocking you for it They no longer care It is all coming to an end and they know it.

4 RepliesBro .. the logical conclusion is to stop investing time. They do not respect the time you put in and half of the game is so wonky that you have to invest twice as much just because something doesn’t work. Checkpoints would be the easiest thing to implement. They’re not doing it. It’s intentional and by design. They want this to take long.

4 RepliesI had the boss glitch on my last time I ran it solo. Capped the plate— but the node to pop its immunity shield didn’t appear. Being able to jump to orbit and reload the mission on a checkpoint probably could’ve fixed that.

It should definitely have a checkpoint, if nothing else to mitigate that softlock issue they had (which I personally haven't had but I can completely sympathise with). Annoyingly, this is definitely achievable solo on Normal, and I even did it flawless last night. Expert though? I can only imagine having to suffer that solo only to have the boss bug out on me in the end...

1 ReplyI spent nearly 3 hours to try to complete Encore only for the mission to “soft lock” at the final boss. The final diamond to break the bosses shield wouldn’t appear. So infuriating as any time I have to spend gaming is rare and now I just wasted 3 hours for no reason. There should be some kind of compensation for stuff like this.

What a giant waste of my time.

Yes. I just got error coded out of the fight as I was killing the final boss. This is beyond pathetic.

Amen to that! Finally completed that mission on regular difficulty after multiple attempts at killing the boss ended with the invulnerability bug. I don't think I'll be trying that -blam!- on expert difficult any time soon. :D
