It's time for a Destiny 3 announcement
We have been playing Destiny 2 now for 7 years and me and many others just want a third game Bungie.
Please stop with seasons/episodes already. So much time and resources being put in seasons and so many useless weapons coming with it, it's just too much!
I know the community asked for more content in between the bigger expansions but this is not the way to go. We want quality content and actual exotics. This game needs new game modes maybe something like battle royale for Destiny. We need new storys and not another sibling of the hive or another big bad boss like the witness.
Give us new supers, new movement style, new game modes, new exotics, and please no more seasonal activities.
I never even used one of the new legendary weapons of this episode and have just been dismantling all of it because it looks so boring and repetitive...
Why is savathun still alive? I can't hear her no more, wasn't she killed like 3 times already and came back each time? Why? Once, the hive was our biggest enemy in this game with the mf oryx and now they're a freaking joke.
My advice would be take your time with Destiny 3 and announce it for something like 2027 or 2028 and give us new enemys, new supers and new vanguard characters. Let Zavala Ikora and Cayde/Crow rest because they played their part.
I love the Destiny Universe and I play since D1 Beta and I really hope this ip will make a great comeback with Sony investing in it. Sony knows exactly how great this Universe is and how much potential there is for it, that's probably why they paid so much money for this studio. But sometimes things need time to be great. Look at Rockstar. They take their time to develope great games and I wouldn't be suprised if Gta 6 broke records when it launches.
Bungie, stop being so money greedy and use your talent for good games. And stop putting so much illuminati -blam!- in this game with all the triangles and darkness bullshit. Stop promoting those things and focus on innovation.

Idc if you want Destiny 3 or not, the fact is this game is old now and we need a fresh start. Just because you grinded for some weapons doesn't mean you have to play with the same old -blam!- for another ten years..
I'm not sure if Marathon is going to be able to financially keep Bungie stable that they abandon Destiny for it. Never ever.

Bud the studio is winding down. There’s no way they can support D2 while developing D3 and hoping Marathon becomes their new cash cow. If D3 does happens down the road it might be another D2 style release… probably best to let it go.

I have it on good authority that Bungie will announce the release of Destiny 3 the same day as Half-Life 3.

Bungie makes a ton of money, yes. That said, they have an unbelievable amount of overhead as well. It doesn’t take a lot to hurt the margins and for them to start hemorrhaging cash. As fans of the game, we should want both - for them to make money and to make a solid product. You really can’t have one without the other.

It’s funny that Bungie stubbornly clung to their demand to ditch Halo after 10 years. Now after 10 years, they’re doing a D3??? Is anyone else ready for something new? D3 would just be more of the same… (use fomo to get engagement, then ruin your stuff with nerfs so they can fomo you again.) Now, after the bajillionth nerf, I’m over it. Besides, John Deere, Harley, Lowes, and others are all facing the reality of not satisfying their paying customers.

3 RepliesAs I said in another post: I think the only way a D3 is made, and accepted by fans, is if everything is new. IMO: Probably set far into the future, where the current Vanguard, Characters and story is just lore. Weapons and armor would for sure have to be new. I highly suspect many longtime players wouldn’t want to grind for the same stuff again. I would also think it would be likely that any leadership/ management roles, if not a full team would come from within Sony vs Bungie. I could also see, having one Class/ a Guardian. You could have “subclasses of Titan, Hunter, or Warlock “ but have the ability to change anytime. Each one could have certain abilities or perks that unlock/ activate when you switch them on. Then assuming space-magic is still a thing, maybe all of it is just 3-4 kits worth of Prismatic to pick from.

What don’t yall get… ? They are cutting the studio left and right because of budget issues. They aren’t making a new $250 million sequel to the game they are already scaling back because of lack of ROI. Like just get it already PLEASE !

[/quote] You poor soul, have you not been paying attention to how Sony is looking for ways to milk more money out of their customers because they ripped people off that they are being sued for 7.9 billion? Sony invested in the name, not the game.

2 RepliesBungie - Destiny 2 - is on hold. It's all over the news. The future of the whole company is uncertain: it's to speak, live or die for them. Destiny 3 would be a huge investment. Too huge. Sony would be the one paying for that, and they already had mass layoffs and just shut down Concord again, after eight years of development for $100 million, just after two weeks.

Not going to happen - it was never on the cards and it certainly won't be now. They're banking everything on Marathon right now (even though Sony have just witnessed what developers with a Bungie pedigree can do with a live service game with Concord). You're better off hoping for them to make improvements with what they have right now (which while still astronomically unlikely, is at least within the realms of possibility).

They can't write decent stories for D2. They have trouble releasing any content that is not bugged. Their servers are crap, PVP is a hot mess and the nerf cycle from lack of testing is immense. They have no clue what the average player is capable of and continue to make thing hard for top 15% of players. They push too much woke agenda crap over making a fun play experience. I would not purchase a new destiny as this group of devs is so BROKEN they could not put anything together that would be successful. I doubt they could find their way out of a paper sack.

They made the DCV so they wouldn’t have to make a D3. Not sure how much more clear Bungie needs to be. They don’t want to make it, they will ride this game for as long as they can.

If they make a D3, I guarantee you even less people will go into it especially if they nuke our Vaults again. People didn't like it when they did that going from D1 to D2, they'll hate it even more now especially with moral where it is.

When and if there is a Destiny 3, I sure hope it's not Bungie in charge of making it. Maybe Larian can do it in 2050. Worked for Baldur's Gate 3. I am hoping Sony will deliver a single player Destiny 1 for PC.

Even if they announce it now, it’s only as a stopgap to keep people from writing off the series completely. They have no intention of a D3 and have made no plans for the future of D2 outside of small seasonal/episodic activities and the little bits of story each week. They’ve had years to make real changes. They made Marathon. It’s time to let go.
