This past week 6v6 Control has been a mostly miserable experience. Feels like how it was before Snake Draft Lobby Balancing was introduced. Most games feel like the outcome is decided before the first shot is fired. And connections have been awful. It doesn’t feel like the current player population can support whatever matchmaking settings are currently being deployed.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I leave matches when my time is being blatantly disrespected. When I load into a match and my teammates spend more time staring at the spawn timer than actually playing. Or when a couple players on the enemy team are teleporting and unkillable. I’d rather just leave and requeue than subject myself to that.
The quitter penalty just adds insult to injury.

1 ReplyOh great its Iron Banner.
-
and you're in the good region.
-
6 RepliesPotential solution: Quitter penalty is increased, but… Have a “surrender” option. If majority (4 players on a team) select it, match ends early. However, Shaxx refers to you as “sissy” and mocks your fortitude until reset.
-
2 RepliesJust toggle cross play off, it will kick you from the game without a penalty, then toggle it back on before you join your next game. It works I do it all the time, especially when the matchmaking glitches out.
-
2 RepliesSimple. Stop quitting. Everyone goes through their slew of uneven matches. We all get beat downs.

4 RepliesEdited by ImANub1817: 9/3/2024 10:12:15 PMThe quitter penalty is like 5 minutes 1st offense. Quit leaving, or deal with the occasional few minute suspension. A big reason pvp is so bad is because people leave all the time. I cant take on 4 people all game long when im stuck with people -blam!- to play agressive at all. Edit: also i did not use profanity. Censoring the word "u n w i l l i n g" is absolutely bonkers Bungie.
-
3 RepliesAgree with this! I hope the -blam!- team who thought it's a good idea to implement this gets the sony boot.

Seems pretty easy, don't quit the match and you won't get a time out. I was playing Gambit this weekend, i'm after void, arc andsolar kills in gambit, thats it oh and it has to be vex. I accepted my timeouts as I had no wish to play the game if it wasn't going to give me vex. I didn't come here to whine about being timedout, I accepted the penalty for my actions. If only people would accept the penalty for their actions instead of blaming someone else.
-
2 RepliesStop quitting. Simple. Or stop playing. Why is this such a revelation? You're one of the reasons there is a "quitting penalty'. Because you're having a bad day, or got killed twice in a row...it's worth screwing your team by quitting? Stop quitting or get a fire team and communicate. Simple, right? You know the consequences of playing solo.
-
The only time I quit is when one or two have already quit - see the issue
-
If leaving becomes standard, people will keep putting up subjective reason for them leaving the game I left cause of ~~, I don't play match that is ~~~... normally this doesn't become a problem when 0.05% of population does this, cause it's gonna impact very short to game mode. However, when it goes upto 10% or even 20% this means that at least one or two people will leave matches every game. This results in more leave, cause many people hates to be against odd cause they have less numbers. Cycle continues, and people will start to not play the mode cause they know what happens in every game.

4 RepliesYea fr ,this time of year we get random storms my power goes out and I get a quitter penalty. I get booted from game common Bungie network errors quitter suspension. The other day was in the middle of a match my batteries died before I had time to change them and turn my controller back on I get the are you still.there message quitter penalty. This seriously needs to go. In competitive or trials I understand but not in quick play.
-
3 RepliesDon't quit, and then there isn't a penalty as simple as that. If you aren't having fun playing or you think you need to win every single match you play, then just stop playing in the first place. Not everyone wants to or needs to play crucible 24/7, so don't expect them to be up to your high standards of they need to win every match and have a 10.0 kd. More importantly, just stop whining about a penalty that you rightfully earned due to you ignoring the fact that it's a clearly stated penalty for leaving matches.

To be honest does this even have a impact to people who do leave a match, I won’t lie I do leave matches not cause I feel like I need to win each match more like I know that I know I’m out of my league and rather not get annoyed and want to quit the game Sure some people will say “I ruined the game” I only leave when we are pretty much getting stomped meaning the game really should have ended sooner now I will not be a hypocrite and say I enjoy stomp matches if I am on the winning team and we win cause of it, no I hate those matches just as much But I’m just going to say this, people who leave won’t stop because bungie said so and we know bungie ain’t going to start throwing out bans to people not with the game as it is plus it’s quick play, not a game to be taken seriously from the get go
-
1 ReplyYep. Agree with all of this. But Bungie doesn’t seem to understand the basic, curb-height entry level concept: people will stay in matches when they are having fun. They don’t have fun when they are getting stomped, especially repeatedly. People will continue to leave—and get time outs—rather than get stomped repeatedly. Gotta solve the real issue: lobby balancing. Until they do that, Crucible will continue to be shite.

Edited by Nimune: 9/2/2024 9:54:51 PMOnly thing 6v6 needs is freelance. They can't balance lobbies when premade teams are involved. Also people who stack 6v6 are pathetic clowns and should be in their own pool far away from solos.
-
Remove it from 6v6 Remove it from trials (only for the remaining teammates of a player who quit)
-
I quit regardless of penalty. Then I quit D2 and move on for day. Today PVP was good though, for a change. I actually got to play some games that everything on me worked like it was supposed to. I didn't run into blatant manipulators unto last couple of games. I'll take it!
-
8 RepliesEdited by Wolves: 9/2/2024 12:28:28 PMIt would appear that Bungie doesn't like quitters.
-
53 RepliesOther PvP focused games don’t have a penalty at all and it works fine. After 2 or 3 leave then most likely the team leaves, the team that stayed steam rolling gets rewards/xp faster and the leaving team has a better overall experience. This makes sense to me. It’s more of a Destiny 2 pvp mindset that ppl should be held in these games for whatever reason. But I don’t understand pvp sweats in this game because it has soooo much AA you really don’t know if it’s you or the game that’s getting the kills. I guarantee the PvP sweats tried real pvp games and came back because of this exact reason.
-
2 RepliesI think it should be removed.....but I can tell you that we won't get high-quality matches. Bungie had their chances and they have nuked the PvP in this game.
-
2 Replies??? Everyone here cried for their forced 50% win ratio....

Miserable for you. Chill and casual for the hardcore. It's all perspective.
