I could be jumping the gun here and feel free to let me know but I’ll explain the encounter to see if I can understand what players are or aren’t doing. I don’t think the quest is bugged, I think a crucial mechanic is being missed.
So the encounter begins,
-You kill a Minotaur that spawns in the centre of the arena, it should drop a green key
-You insert the green key into the green node in the middle of the arena, this spawns a conflux
-You tamper with the conflux and this will spawn a cyclops on left or right which is your indicator to which side you need to take the green key to
-For arguments sake the cyclops spawns left, you remove the green key from the centre node and take it to the left hand side on the first island and deposit it on the green node that is there
-This will construct a new island with a vex plate that needs to be captured, capture this plate while fending off the attacking vex goblins.
-After successfully capturing the plate the boss will spawn a weak point on the invulnerable cage around itself (it’s a triangle), break this weak spot to begin damage.
This is where I think some players are missing the trick, it doesn’t matter if you’re dps gods or you are using nerf guns the damage doesn’t matter at least as far as I can tell.
-Damage the boss until it teleports away (I’m assuming you haven’t one phased it) when this happens one of two things will or should happen, if you got the boss down to the last phase of health it will teleport to the centre of the arena and is vulnerable to attack. You will need to kill a Minotaur and take the blue key to the blue node next to the portal and use the portal to access the centre of the arena again and kill the boss.
If you’ve only tickled its -blam!- then it will teleport away to the back of the arena and THIS IS IMPORTANT you will need to take the green key that you used to spawn the original island/s and re-insert it into the FIRST GREEN NODE the one in the centre of the arena. This will spawn the access conflux again and once again you need to tamper with it to spawn the cyclops to determine which side you need to head to and once again you deposit the green key into the green node on that side and it will spawn the island with the vex plate.
You rinse and repeat that whole process until you get him to his final phase of health. Breaking his shield once isn’t the end of his shield and it will respawn if you don’t do enough damage. If that is the case you need to repeat these steps again until you get him down.

1 ReplyThe arrogance I'm this post is wild. To challenge the player base to say this mission isn't bugged is so ignorant that I'm floored. Especially in destiny, the spaghetti code king.

7 RepliesEdited by PipeWrench: 8/29/2024 11:52:43 PMYou know that little pyramid thing the plate spawns that you shoot to start damage phase? That doesn’t spawn the third time if you haven’t done enough damage. The boss sits there. I don’t know if this is every time you don’t do enough damage, or just lots of times, but it happens.

1 ReplyI've run this mission about a dozen or more times now, mostly solo and have never had any issue with the actual mechanics. It's pretty straight forward and honestly very easy if you know how it works.

Can confirm it's 100% bugged. Ran it today & it took a while as I was totally blind, around 2 hours I think, I'd read about not doing too much damage so took my time, pulse & sniper, for 8-9 attempts I'd do the routine & every time in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th rotation the weak spot didn't spawn, the icon was above the boss but no way to progress. After realising how long I'd been taking & I grabbed 2 guys off off to test, n wiped. They joined, n melted the boss in the 1st rotation, straight to the final rotation n we just killed him, took 2 mins tops.

Need to add a timer on the bosss that takes his shield down automatically after say 10 seconds. This is a case where times are good LOL.
