Unpopular Opinion: Destiny 2 is actually fun right now.
Just wanted to give props to Bungie. I bought Final Shape when it launched but couldn't really enjoy it since I had a breakup with my partner and was in a bad state of mind. I played the main story and finished Legendary Mode and after the Excision Mission I left because the DLC felt lackluster at first and I'm not sure why.
Now came back playing again and it kinda feels good. I think maybe the reason for that is the game felt so buggy with all the Error-Codes at Final Shape launch.
The Echos Offensive is so much fun and it feels good using abilitys and weapons that launched with the new DLC. Especially the Song of Flame Super for the Warlocks.
But there are some problems for me: I don't really understand how to unlock the Prismatic abilitys..
The new Class-Item is disappointing because the Exotic Perks aren't as good as the original Exotics, whats the point then? It would have been much better if we could just equip a normal Exotic Armor + the Exotic Class Item with 1 Original Exotic Perk, but not half baked like this.
But I still didn't get it because it's a little complicated with the Witches and Dual Destiny Mission. I like that it's actually hard to get so I'm not gonna complain here.
I really like In-Game LFG, it functions really good. Though sometimes it sucks that some people fall asleep and are too incompetent to Ready-Up...
Otherwise I'm really happy and I hope Bungie won't nerf the abilitys and weapons to the ground. This feels like Destiny Age of Triumph all over again and that was the best Destiny 1 has ever been.
Eververse... is still a mess and way too overpriced so I'm not gonna spend anything there. I never understood why Bungie couldn't just put some of that stuff there as loot to the core playlists and maybe keep more players playing them + some good will wouldn't be bad for their reputation after Lightfall..
But like I said overall I'm happy and hope they will keep delivering us fun weapons and abilitys and perks like this.

I enjoy playing destiny…. But not for the right reasons, I enjoy the feel of the game, the graphics and the build crafting…. For a very long time I haven’t enjoyed playing any playlist activity nor raids or anything to do with quests….its all very stale to me I load into the game and I’m not even sure what to do out of the 5 activities that I have to choose from, but I do like to do something that lets me utilise my guardian even if it’s the same nightfall over and over again

Coming back after a Lightfall which I didn't really enjoy, the locations and the art direction in FS, I like that a lot. What I find completely lackluster is the salad of the prismatic class, it just shows they're out of ideas at Bungie. But, all in all, I like this better than Lightfall, and at the level I am playing (slow, and not raiding and getting sweaty all over the controller), it's good enough. But the game is slowly going away though.

So it’s unpopular on these forums to say that but the Bungie forum dwellers have been and still are extremely negative, regardless of whatever DLC drops. That isn’t reflective with the player base as a whole.

As bad as the game is, hoping on to play some control and just popping heads with my Sniper is still fun. Unless my aim sucks that day. But nothing beats just clicking heads and chilling lol.

It's just that Bungie has way overtuned to a very specific type of player/gameplay, and alienated a large portion of the rest of the population. I don't know if that's 20%, 50%, or 80%, but there are a lot of guardians out there right now that are not happy, and the player numbers reflect that. I'm glad some people still enjoy Destiny; what I don't understand is why Bungie can't just provide a few different difficulty options for the rest of us. I'd never try to tell you you're not enjoying Destiny, but I sure as hell get told regularly that I would be enjoying it if I'd just [i]*insert thing that doesn't work for me*[/i].

Look, a large portion of the population has burnt out from the game, myself included. As a result, a ton of us are taking a break. I might come back for Revanent, but for now, I’m just done with Destiny. I am really glad that you are enjoying the game, but that doesn’t change the health of said game. Even I, someone who is usually very optimistic about the game, is downtrodden. Sure, part of it is burnout, but there is a reason as to why I burned out, and why so many other players are unhappy as of now. Currently, I’ve been enjoying a couple small Indie games like Nova Drift and Yomi Hustle. They’re good fun.

I'll second that without a hint of sarcasm, but I am probably in the minority having just finished the Lightfall campaign and am getting a few odds and ends before doing a Worlds Tour visiting all the locations I haven't visited in a while.

I actually started playing again recently. Vanilla D1 player, played all of D2 and up until forsaken D2 and just couldn’t get into D2. Now that I’ve returned, D2 makes me feel like I’m playing D1 again, but much improved. I ran a raid tonight and spoke to 2 or 3 other guys with the same feeling.

Hard agree. The biggest problem with the game right now isnt even in the game. Its the crapshow with these layoffs and poor leadership. The game itself is honestly about as fun as its ever been.

Glad you're having fun but you're in the extreme minority of those who find it fun and minority who also find what they're doing objectively sound game design. What I can tell you is the experience you're having right now is not what Destiny is or was meant to be and its not even close. Anything Lightfall forward is not true Bungie. Hell, even as amazing as Taken King, ROI and Forsaken were, in light of the recent new interview Act Man had with Marty O'Donnell, even those were riddled with an absurd amount of behind the scenes BS that pushed a lot of the Bungie staff the wrong way and was already leading to this point of no return.

Really? Well at least someone is having fun kudos Btw you unlock the prismatic abilities by doing the adventures missions in the pale heart tower after you complete the campaign and for the fragments its thru activities in the pale heart

I'm not having fun at the moment. Burnt out on it all but it's cool you're still enjoying it. I did love the campaign, but the seasonal stuff besides the battlegrounds has just felt bad. I am still logging in now and again, I'm just not sure why, and my sessions don't last too long. I'm looking forward to a quick session for the new exotic mission though.

But yes builds this dlc actually are fun so has been the content except: I still think adds kick out too much damage when guardians have 100 resistance titans need a pve buff and class item optimal farm being locked behind a mission that requires communication instead of it just being multiplayer like a dungeon and lastly sucks that bounties have been removed from vanguard except that the games in a pretty fun state . Il not comment on the seasonal acts since ive yet to actually get passed act 1 lol
