Anyone else just skip through cutscenes/dialog any chance they get?
I've been playing since vanilla D1 and I can't tell you wtf this game is about. I tried to pay attention and get into it but I just didn't like it. Bungie stinks at telling a good story post Halo. When they forced Staten out and completely changed his work, it was probably a mistake. I like to see what he came up with. Everything about the story and the characters dialog is pure cringe to me. The characters look and talk like they're cosplaying from different video games. They don't have good/interesting relations with each other. They don't seem like they're connected in the same world at all. Couldn't get myself to care about what was happening in Final Shape. Tbh the game was better when they didn't explain things and didn't force you to sit through unskippable cutscenes.

Yep. Lightfall cured me of my need to know the story. Cringe dialogue and cardboard cutout NPCs are just there to drone in the background while you delete all the junk loot from your postmaster and then get a drink and go pee. Skip. Skip. Skip.

No but I can't be bothered to play my hunter and warlock for along time because I can't skip a campaign that I've paid for on an alt characters I've seen it all once don't need to play through the unlocking process multiple times

This season I’ve been skipping EVERYTHING, mind you I’m the type that likes to sit and “wait” by watching all the lore, talks, and cutscenes. This season I found out (even though when I first said it I was being sarcastic) everyone in Destiny is gay 🤦♂️ (which is statistically impossible) and cringe is lightly putting it 🤢🤮 I hope one day they let us have a choice cause I’m sure as hell not picking the looney left. I going to side up when anyone and anything that is all about destroying them…

2 RepliesIt's not even that the story is bad it's just that the characters and dialogue SUCK. They had to bring back Cayde for final shape because he was the only character they've ever made that people actually like. Nobody cares about Ikora, Osiris, Hawthorne, Shaxx, all these characters that are supposed to be integral to the world are so worthless and forgettable.

All of the time. Honestly, the campaign feels like a chore now. I honestly don’t care what’s going on in space soap opera land. Just tell me who we need to take down and give me cool weapons AND STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!!!

Lately with Saint and Osiris I have. Osiris was a little much in lightfall too but at least it was focused on the plot and lore. I didn’t really login to a space shooter for romance though.

No but have to re watch them on you tube as the voice mixing gets lost in the background music. Do not like subtitles on screen all the time and cut scenes come out of nowhere.

Just like how It's trash that the new exotic mission is basically dual destiny... Yet again with dual destiny you're forced to play with one other person but you Don't see streamers getting garbage on for saying that they want to do it by themselves... this community is mental asf trash talk when something affects their ego over a game lol 😆 😂

Yeah. Half the time the voice is so deep and raspy that I can't understand it anyway. The gist of the story is this; Guardians good, Bad guys evil. The bad guys are evil because - well, just because.

The sad thing is that beyond the amazing gameplay, I was in this game because the lore was deep, like very well inspired and it always had a ridiculous cringe characters on top of it, in D1 was okaish… and in D2 became unbearable …
