Destiny 2 sits at 22000 active players right now. Has it ever been any lower than that? The worst part about this bleeding player count is that it makes it impossible to play some activities now, things like legacy raids and dungeons are such a pain in the -blam!- to find now.

3 RepliesIf Bungie has proven anything with TFS, it's that they are incapable of making good content anymore, and that they are willing to lie about what they do create and pay off people for better reviews than they deserve. Now they're bragging about the next exotic mission. I'm betting it's just a bunch of empty space with cool skyboxes. It will probably require twelve people and have no checkpoints as well. F Bungie. They've lost all the goodwill they once had. I still believe D1 was the most fun I've ever had in a video game, but D2 feels like I've just been waiting for them to get it together, and they never did.

Are you surprised? I loved this game but bad decision after bad decision doesn't make me want to log in and be bored doing the same crap I've done for many years I'm lucky to play twice a week now, where as it used to be 5+ hours every day

So u do know there is more then just steam players right. Yes I would agree this game has lowest players it’s had in long time but it’s not at its lowerest numbers if remember right cures of Osiris had lower bungie even reported those numbers for entire community was 100000 and if it dropped any lower they shut down. The game will die there is no dought about that with how little effort they putting into the game but just to report on a game with only one platform is just no indication for how a game is doing. -blam!- for all we know console could be at 100-200k but consoles don’t report their numbers. Also destiny has always sold more copies on console those are the only numbers u use to gage by.

9 RepliesThese numbers are probably not even accurate anymore. For all we know it could even be lower. They’re just probably punching numbers to inflate it!🤣🤣🤣 It’s been dead for years. It’s just a living corpse now. A walking carcass!🤣🤣🤣 This company is toast! This is their only running viable product and they can’t even make it happen. They can’t make a good game now, let alone make new ones after.🤣🤣🤣 Laughable in the industry! These guys have no talent at all anymore. A one trick pony. They killed their golden goose a long time ago and they are finished! TOAST!!! 🤣🤣🤣 They’ve become car connoisseurs!🤣🤣🤣 They have no talent left anymore that their staff are probably spending most of their time cleaning cars at headquarters! 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!

2 RepliesEdited by Northern: 8/23/2024 10:11:29 PMFor comparison purposes, Counter strike on Steam has 929,000 currently playing. Warframe on Steam has 49,000 playing at the moment.

PvP is dead. I had a 4v4 match tonight for control with no replacements. I’m actually ok with it. I play about 20-40 matches a day. With the current state of the game and constantly playing the same players for quick play , PvP is done . 10 years. It’s been a fun ride.

4 Repliesif the anti cheat actually worked it would be about 11000 players.
-
6 Replieswe're below Curse numbers, so yeah.

3 RepliesBro, just move on like everyone else. You'll land on a game that treats you better eventually.
-
3 RepliesHere's the thing. In the past Bungie has always had the ability recover because money (at least thats what it seemed like at the time), still so much to make, plenty of staff, people still being very interested in the franchise (there was very little mass apathy rooted in the community), and just generally room to make moves. Now? Double layoffs plus saga end (a pretty underwhelming end might I add) plus financial woes with looming total acquisition and poor product quality for the past 2 years to boot? They're screwed. Nothing is pulling them out of this. And honestly, good -blam!-ing riddance. If Bungie is going to exist just to ignore, scam, gouge, and devalue players and treat their employees and IP like -blam!- they can disappear.

I quit playing every time I get TIME OUT in quick play --I refuse to finish a game 20-60+ or similar, or lose six games in a row. If I get punished b/c bungie refuses to address or correct --fine. Let someone else play that garbage. If they want exploiters playing -fine. Many other games out there to play and I am. Just sad they have taken the fun away from the casual NON exploiting player base. I did everything I wanted to do this season (minus three GMs left) --it was a chore, grind, and tedious. Yes, challenging but fine, but when I want to blow off steam and have fun, I go to crucible...NON COMP. You have ruined that now too. For you trolls that will defend bungo at all costs --buzz off. My opinion and not talking to you that has ZERO life outside of bungo.

8 RepliesI think to most people it’s clear the game is at the end of its life… no more decent content drops… for me it’s like why even bother

2 RepliesCurrent Steam numbers, for anyone interested. https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660#7d Refresh to update if needed.

4 RepliesWhere are you getting 22k active players from?
-
just played 2 matches, in 6s and encountered cheaters in both. incredible how they had heavy off spawn. this is fine. this is definitely healthy for the community.

There nothing going on until next week except Solstice, I’ve always skipped solstice, I used to use that time to bounty hoard for the next season and catch up on games I ignored, so a low player count right now isn’t surprising. Not that it matters, no matter what happens Bungie has to give us the rest of the episodes, many ppl already payed for them. If it’s going to die it won’t be until after episode 3, I personally think ep 3 is going to bring back lots of ppl, if it’s good, it certainly has potential.
-
No it’s not lol. The obsession over player count is hysterical. D2 has hundreds of thousands of players logging in daily. Steam is only a small portion of that.
-
Edited by DarthWolfric: 8/23/2024 10:03:10 PMIn the US that is a morning on a work day, and Steam doesn’t represent the entire population. Over the course of the day hundreds of thousands log in.
-
2 RepliesNot unexpected. Game ran it's course, lasted longer than most that aspired to be it. Truth is peeps are tired of this game, can't blame em'. Especially if they've been playing since the launch of d1 10 years ago.

12 RepliesEdited by Peter, Kell of Cottontail: 8/23/2024 1:19:41 PMWukong just came out. It is an amazing game and it just set the steam record in sales. Ps5 is seeing a spike in consoles sales and sales of the game. Dead part of the episode. That is going to put a huge dent in numbers. So no, bungie should not be worried… They should just be ready for competition. A 7 year old game averaging a couple hundred thousand a day is something a lot of franchise would beg for and many have wasted millions trying to recreate.

4 RepliesTry wukong it's awesome 👌 👏

I started playing Control today. The game, not the PvP mode.
