Nerf special ammo in PvP or nerf forerunner PLEASE!

2 RepliesForerunner is 100% up there with some of the strongest options, however I think it is for the most part pretty balanced. Yes it’s a heavy crutch for some people, there aren’t many primary weapons that will out ttk it with the same level of forgiveness. However sadly this does come down to a skill issue. Not everything needs to be nerfed because it’s a good option. And forerunner is just that, good. It’s not broken to the extent of what prismatic hunter was. You just have to know how and when to play your angles, keep count of their bullet count (they’re almost helpless with less than 3 bullets) and in the context of comp/trials, it’s all about TEAMPLAY although with todays matchmaking I understand that can be tough lol.

Tbh. I think the first ammo meter system was the best. Ammo isn’t super common at the start, but the meter moves up pretty fast and gives a solid amount of ammo. The crates just kinda stink

2 RepliesIdk why they took the meter out of trials, it made more sense than having an ammo crate on both sides at the start like that’s going to change anything. My only complaint with the meter was not announcing when some gained special ammo. 9 times out of 10 I’m contesting shotguns and when I get into an honest gunfight it’s all smoke and swarm grenades. If it were 1 mutual ammo crate in the middle of the map so there’s a balance in risk-reward makes more sense to me. May as well just give people two shots of special ammo like they used to because someone crutching forerunner grabs extra special and is guaranteed to be a hurdle to overcome at the start of every match.

2 RepliesForerunner is a rare sight. 1 every 7 games at most. I think Double Primary is more common (I use double primary, though sometimes I use a fusion.)

Special ammo is already nerfed. Specifically, the loot box system itself is awful. I don't think anyone likes having to run around the map and wait for the next crate to spawn. The gameplay is neither fun nor balanced like it used to be. Even special weapons themselves are tuned to be less appealing than primary ammo. The other day I played a couple of matches with a sniper only because the horrible Pathfinder system keeps applying nodes for those weapon types. I did manage to get some kills, but sniper rifles used to be a far stronger option and much scarier than the gentle breeze they hit people with now.

Not to say that’s bad but I feel you may be putting yourself in situations that are getting you killed by forerunner. I would say try different weapons out and maybe watch a couple of YT videos for some new strategies. It can honestly make a huge difference to your game. I’m all over the prophet scout currently as it allows me to control the map in a very aggressive manner.

5 RepliesIt can be annoying but its not like its absolutely everywhere. Plus a lot of times the person using it doesn't have all that much awareness or is lacking in some kind of other ability. If everyone used it all the time it would probably deserve a nerf though.
