Name changed for some reason
I just logged into destiny and it's always been my username on xbox and now it just says guardian #### why! I didn't change it

I strive to provide the most accurate information possible and regret this did not happen in this case. Unfortunately, the issue was not discovered/announced until quite some time after the original post and reply. Here is the most recent reply from the Community Team’s Twitter account as of the posting of this correction and apology. I was affected by this name change as well. I hope eventually I will get it back along with the # associated to it.. I had the perfect number since the addition of the Bungie name. I actually felt unique with the number 9999 associated to my Bungie name.

Bungie can't touch the game without running It lol, i really Hope for a token to get our real name back (mine Is Kabalmat) as someone is saying, because it's really embarassing that after we buy $$$$$$ worth of DLCs and contents we see that surprises...

My name was Hertz Stryqer same as my xbox gamertag if that got reported I'd be shocked. I'm pretty certain some bug went out and auto flagged people's names.
