The Exotic class item... @Bungie
Pretty soon the class item will start dropping for all players... rumor is....
[spoiler]It was originally slated for September and the 10 yr event, but I heard it got pushed up. I actually think it was supposed to be live this week. Wave 4 Overthrow chest... rng with an escalating chance for each character's first drop. Any Pale Heart chest thereafter.

I think this was always the plan. My advice to @Bungie would be to share and surface the 'right' information to the player. And context and timing can be a factor.
I'm actually seeing a good number of new players. However, morale is low... sometimes you need to ruin the surprise for the sake of solidarity and good will.
So, tell us about the alternative source for the class item.
Tell us about the exotic mission in Act 3 (It can be full teaser; it need not spoil anything).
Tell us about the Dungeon coming in Episode 2. Do a 3-man race?
Tell us about the 10-yr anniversary festivities.
In addition, STOP telling us other stuff. Until the Patch Notes. I'm talking adjustments in favor of balance, aka, "nerfs".
We don't NEED most of that info weeks, months in advance. They're never that bad, why create that stew of animus to bubble and fester... black on the stove by the time the changes go live.
The one exception would be brand NEW exotics, or super META high investment exotics and kits... Like you wouldn't just drop the Well adjustment on day 1. Still, it needs to be a rare preemptive communication, imo....
Just try it. You can always revert, feeding the sensationalized acrimony that poisons community morale...

How do they get someone who has played for nearing 9000 hours like myself, who's bought everything available, to suddenly and completely stop playing? Well that was how they handled the Exotic Class items. They recently sent some of us a marketing survey and the exclusion of Dual Destiny and the mic-required DLC was my number one feedback for flat-lined scoring. Tellingly, the second question they ask was the ever fav 'How likely are you to recommend D2 to a friend?' which was the raison d'etre for setting up Dual Destiny in the way it was. It was all about brute force attempts to max friend referrals. So I left instead. Let's see it backtracked and fixed.

I spent a while looking at twitter, youtube, and google but i cannot seem to find anything to confirm this being true.

See, people remember what takes place and it's not just 1 thing here, it's multiple poor decisions that were made by design, and this "we are sorry, we will do better" has left a very bad impression on millions of gamers but they know now it's a lie. I would imagine the developers are feeling rather unmotivated at present. I wouldn't rule out another round of redundancies.

2 RepliesThat would be very nice. I’ve tried linking with another guardian numerous times daily since I finally unlocked the dual destiny mission. Every single time they have bailed and violated the Guardian’s Code. I never bail because I have principles. But I henceforth give up on even trying it anymore.

4 RepliesRemember a while back, when people on this forum were making posts about how stale the game had gotten and there were no secrets or surprises anymore? Oh well, best to just drop everything in our laps right out of the gate and remove any "thrill of discovery" now that players are as impatient as children already waiting for next Christmas on January 1st. Maybe these ideas will put a stopper in some of the mass unrest, and we can have a bit of peace for a change.*🤞 *Who am I kidding? 😂

You had me until you told them to stop communicating upcoming balance changes. Very bad idea. And no, whiners screaming on the forums isn't a good reason to stop that communication. Some of us like to have builds prepared ahead of time instead of logging in one day and having to spend 30 minutes swapping things around because I JUST found out a build or weapon isn't going to function the same. Totally agree on communicating the other stuff sooner, but we can't stop communication on balance because some children are having tantrums about it.

Do they mean all players who bought the expansion or all players who play the game. Because I don't want my loot pool flooded with items I can't use.
