Currently the peak playerbase of the year according to this article is 63,000. With that said, there's a couple people saying hundreds of thousands are playing daily. Yeah, um no actually, there's not. Shocker! This is the 3rd lowest drop off in history and it's right in the middle of an ongoing act. If the next episode, which appears to be way more interesting, does well, hopefully the numbers can reflect that. Until then, this game needs a lot of juice and lot of quality content. People lying about player base to stroke an ego is just sad though 🥴🤔

20 RepliesWho gives an actual -blam!- outside of the studio and Sony? The way people babble on about these numbers and those numbers I genuinely want to know why any of it should make any difference to someone unless they own Bungie/Sony stock or something.

8 RepliesHighly doubt there’s a total of 63000 people playing when steam alone (which has the smallest playerbase) is sitting at like 43k 🤷♂️

Edited by A_mo: 8/15/2024 7:16:19 PMThat's the highest point in time count on steam. Not how many people are playing a day. It shouldn't be that hard for you to have figured that out.

Let’s be real. If the majority who are playing are the hard core die hards and they are not spending money in eververse etc. , how long do you think they’ll keep the lights on? With the recent name change debacle I’m starting to feel that they are trying to kill off the player base on purpose.

Not sure that should be a surprise to anyone

5 RepliesThat’s on Steam (doesn’t include console numbers which are typically much higher). There’s been a quicker drop off than Lightfall, but if you look at the Steam monthly averages, there have been worse times for sure. Last 30 days — 51k Feb 2024 — 32k Nov 2023 — 33k Nov 2022 — 38k Just a few examples (there are more below 51k).
