  • So... we're just gonna forget how bad Y1 was? Just gonna look over how Shadowkeep was almost impressively mid? Let's not lie to ourselves, for every kinda good expansion, we're guaranteed at least two mid ones. Forsaken was followed by Shadowkeep and Beyond Light. Witch Queen was followed by Lightfall and Final Shape.

  • Pretty much none of destiny 2 was great to be honest. Forsaken and witch queen were mid, they just seemed great because of the terrible state the game was in at the time. Whisper of the worm quest was the only real bright spot I can look back on and say “wow that was awesome!”

    Agree everything is either a bullet sponge or can 1 shot you behind a wall that's why I like games like eldenring and sekiro atleast if I go in cover I'm in cover crazy things like an adds strand can pull me into a wall an almost kill me through a wall or tracking bullets. What's with the new change to barrier champs that stops them from being suspended after being suspended like they go immune and pop a shield back up

      Nah it’s a much better game now. Quality of life in the game has dramatically improved over the past 4 years. Build crafting alone sets the game light years ahead of where it was. We also have had 2 out the 3 best expansions since then in WQ and FS.

      • That's when I decided to leave. Came back just at the end of season of the witch when things were free to play, and had a really good time to be honest (aside from pvp; I couldn't adjust to stasis/strand flying around) I'm really tempted to skip episode 2 and come back to do it all in episode 3. Feels like a nice break and a great chunk of content will be available to play in one go!

      • Playing since D1 day 1. With BL till now there are a [i]few[/i] things I like better. But many things I hate so much so that I went from playing to many hours per day to maybe a few a week. What I will say is I LOVED the FS campaign and LOVE running Excision. Excisionit reminds me how fun and how much I enjoyed running Escalation Protocol. The only thing I enjoyed more about EP is we had 3 different bosses rotating weekly each with unique rewards. What Excisionshould have done was something similar with all the non-witness battles, different sub-bosses each week and then focus on a particular category of Ergo Sum each week. It would have been a MUCH more efficient way to farm for the desired rolls as there as so many possible combos. (Or make it craftable based on 'proper' drops (not the normal do 20 million runs before getting a freak rocket launcher that once you get it for a title (coughWayfindercough) you instantly delete it) of materials from running Excision. I both like and hate running Pale Heart as the only player there unless I join a FT or a rare MM round of Overload. Proog, I still have not finished Alone in the Dark for my 10,000th release variant of Khvostov. Plus Solstice sucks so bad I've only ran a couple of runs. And why should I? For the armor? Why would we want the armor if we only get the white, pre-lim, glow and have to pay for the full glows. THATS CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR!!! And I do not feel for any individuals that promoted that idea who got layed off!

      • The game is always good, it's just old for the majority of us. New players have a blast, more content than most games available. The problem is on boarding is so horrible the newer players leave us quickly.

          There's been an ebb & flow all the way back to D1 Beta. It looks to me that D2 content has been better in the even numbered years (2018, 2020, 2022, 2024) assuming that TFS is better than Lightfall. I haven't played it. Beyond Light (2020) was released in an even numbered year. I think it's the weakest of those entries but IMO better than Shadowkeep (2019). It's a real shame that what I consider the best of those even numbered releases can't be played. So much for game preservation. I even own a physical copy of Forsaken (2018) yet it's unplayable for me. How could this be? Even my state's attorney general wants to know.

          [u]Expansions[/u] Vanilla - Great Campaign/rest was empty Curse of Osiris - meh to bad Warmind - Good Forsaken - Great Shadowkeep - meh to bad (empty) Beyond Light - Good (Stasis too hot) Witch Queen - Great Lightfall - bad Final Shape - Great [u]Seasons[/u] Black Armory - Good Joker - (Didn’t Play because actual cancer) Opulence - Banger Undying - Goodish (whooped cancer 👍👍) Dawn - Banger (minus one bad story beat) Worthy - ok (minus public event focus) Arrivals - Banger Hunt - ok (activity was just ok) Chosen - banger Splicer - banger Lost - banger (but delay soured it a little) Risen - Good Haunted - banger Plunder - good (except weird story) Seraph - banger (probably my favorite season) Defiance - good/banger Deep - good (great activities) Witch - banger Wish - banger Echoes - good (minus bad story choices) For all the utter bs the ‘community’ throws out, Destiny has been way more hit than miss over its lifespan so far

            Beyond Light should have been the start of Destiny 3. That would have left all of D2 intact, with all content accessible instead of various things getting thrown into the content vault.

            Nope, the only time this game was ever in a good place was Forsaken, it was a complete disaster before that and after that, it got worse with the quality of the content, the grind, the RNG, the padded playtime, nerfs, flooding the game with useless loot, design poor quality gear/stats, Montitization, the shop and a few other things. All of that is because this developer wasted time, our money, and a lot of manpower on other projects when they should have been taking the player base money and investing it into this game. The crazy thing is, all the fans supported this flawed logic trying to convince everyone else that "Bungie is doing a good job as a developer". [spoiler]Wrong![/spoiler]

            I would say game was different/better before because... This is the [b][i]inflection point[/i][/b].. where the "Strategy" would [i][b]EVENTUALLY LEAD TO[/b][/i]: 1. DCV/Sunset 2. Complexity + Hardness... over.... Action + Adventure 3. under-deliver vs Over-Deliver 4. server instability 5. PVP downgrade.. and worst era imo the Stasis release 6. Vendors used to have all weapons reset at least every DLC 7. 6-person or more matchmade activity for all used to be norm (Menagerie, escalation protocol..etc) 8. #2 led to aspects and fragments (complexity) weakening and deconstructing our guardian powers making the game more RPG 9. Pay to win.. with pre-order weapons became more a thing 10. etc... souls-like sponge immune overload.. balance issues.. activities left to rot... story & onboarding being lost.. freelance and solo lost to time.. busted and hard to fathom economy changes not to say there wasn't fun & good QOL changes along the way.. but this would impact all players imo

          • Beyond Light and Witch Queen were good. Some things just changed for both the industry and the game and Destiny had to walk a fine line between the fortnite type model and the more long term development "enthusiast's" model. It wasn't all bad. Plus the game made a lot of technical improvements and shotguns were made to work the way they should during that period. One of the greatest achievements possible, shotguns working like they should.

          • I don't know that I would agree with this, even though I personally enjoyed Shadowkeep as it was my first expansion, joining with the PC crowd when it released on Steam. But I did greatly enjoy the story and gameplay of each of the earlier campaigns and missions, even if it was fairly limiting from what we have now in my opinion. There have been really great quality of life changes; from infinite Primary ammo, customizable Subclasses, save-able Loadouts, even being able to change your appearance anytime you want. There have been plenty of highs and lows throughout my playtime in Destiny, I genuinely loved the lore reveals with The Final Shape, even if the implementation of the story was mediocre.

          • Game was so bad for years I could not remember when was that. It’s like the game died years ago and no matter what they add after that, it still is dead! 🤣🤣🤣 This is the most mediocre dead game I’ve ever seen in the industry!🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!
