Why do smoke bombs still slow guardians like a duskfield?

I understand that smoke bombs are part of the "trapper" fantasy, but at the same time, slowing someone down to a crawl (which is an effect that is now supposed to be shifted to stasis), on top of applying weaken that also slows the target, with practical blindness that includes disambiguation of teammates and markers, and now DoT poison that shuts down revives with additional area denial effect, is a little much. Especially with the slow already being accommodated by weaken My feelings about this are independent of the topic of nerfing prismatic hunters in PvP. The added slow behavior equivalent to something from stasis was needed before stasis existed, and was the main reason why smoke bomb was able to do anything for a long long time, but that's been compensated for already from buffs over time and enhanced subclass synergy. It's about time to move the slow effect out of the game like we did with all the other unique ability effects like melting point hammer strike, invisibility and health recovery kickstarts in arc (has been changed to health bumps), and so on. Tuning up of the other effects would obviously be in order

    Keep the slow effect, lengthen the timer of bomb before it expires, and remove damage from the melee completely. ✅ Less annoying ✅ Trapper fantasy intact

  • If they didn't slow people, then they would be pointless in pvp since you could easily escape the blind effect and they are the weakest melee in game only dealing 50 damage (I think 65 with dot that was recently added) but without the slow effect, you'd only take 1 or 2 damage ticks from the dot.

        • I’ve posted quite a few times about this. Smoke bombs do way too much. When they reworked abilities to match the subclasses they totally forgot to look at smoke bombs. I’m ok with radar going away and radar ping for smokes. Weaken is even ok at maximum. The slow and blind need to go.

        • I main the three classes. It doesn't make any sense. So, hypocritical opinion. If you are a Titan main, when you get smoked bomb by a hunter use your towering barricade. If you are a Warlock main, when you get smoked bomb by a hunter use your Icarus Dash is a movement Aspect for Warlocks. Don't you think? Or, maybe you are just a casual player who complains a lot.

          • Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Titan, Hunter, and Warlock. The three classes are broken if you know how to use them. Get good. Adapt and be adept. I just wanted to let you know. Complaining won't be able to help you get good into the game. Practice makes perfect.

              • Why can a suppressor grenade stop supers and all abilities and movement. I know it’s part of the suppressor fantasy but I don’t like it. This is how you sound.

                • Idk why they didn’t give us the vanish smoke bomb I hate the snare 1. If I wanted to slow things I’d use dusk field.

                • Because without the slow this "melee" would be worthless. Using a melee ability just to ping the radar and deal small aoe dmg wouldnt be worth it. Without slow, people would escape from the aoe after taking 20 dmg at best. Most of the dmg comes from staying in the smoke field. If duskfield is good at slowing its because of its massive aoe

                  • Bungies needs to lay down the hammer on these hunters it’s out of control at this point. Hunters have so much utility and exotics to play around with while titans and warlocks we have dumb exotics that require 5 melee kills in a row to get the perk going or something dumb rift exotic.
