Pete Parsons is simply the latest example of "bleedership"

When talent-less c-suite leeches prioritize their excessive compensation over the talent of the studio that enabled them, that pretty much defines what I call soul-less bleedership, And I didn't think it was possible for me to hate on someone more than Luke "Sunsetting" Smith. After 4000+ hours over 10 years and all that silver on 3 platforms, Parsons has made me feel like a complete -blam!- for thinking that the studio was in good hands. Also good job completely sullying all the great work that the Foundation does.

  • I'm so glad I didn't buy TFS or the Acts episodes. So very glad.

  • Parsons didn’t make you feel like anything. That’s all on you. There are many of us that have been calling out the leadership at Bungie and their decisions for years now. In return, we would get told to go play other games and such. Now, after all of this time, some of you are starting to catch on to some of what many were talking about. When you continue to support mediocrity, mediocrity is what you will get. The whole, “content is hard to make” excuse… Making content is not hard, it’s their -blam!- job. I’m a RN. I don’t go to work and complain that saving lives is hard. I don’t go to work expecting to perform just well enough to get through the day. Being a game developer is their job. If it’s too hard and they are not even attempting to exceed expectations they should find a new line of work then because a great many other jobs are actually hard.

    • The amount of replies from people who defend Parsons because “you don’t know what business is, kid” is insane. Mindless sheep who have to pretend the corporate world is important because they are wasting their lives being slaves so that another -blam!- gets to be a millionaire. If you think anything that happened with Bungie is normal, then you are either part of the problem or you were brainwashed.

        • The crazy part is that they easily made $50m+ on the Final Shape yet still talking about financial hardship. What a bunch of crooks.....

          • He has become death! 🤣🤣🤣 I mean everything they touch now, dies! 🤣🤣🤣 A corpse!!! This company made a choice a long time ago. They chose the mediocre watchable game that gamers don’t want to play. It’s a complete failure!🤣🤣🤣 These guys have no talent at all at making games anymore! A complete failure!!!🤣🤣🤣 This company is toast! 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!

              • When the top of the food chain is thriving, it should mean the entire food chain is in balance. When you have the top still thriving while those below you are starving, you have poor leadership and imbalance. For the CEO to flaunt his riches while those below him are losing their jobs is beyond disrespctful. I have no respect for a man that will let the ship sink only to step off at the last minute with all the treasure.

                • Blaming only Pete is the wrong move. The story, game play, and all the crappy stuff came from a DEV, some DEV. You can't hang all this on Pete's head, even though he does share in the blame. He did not punch all the code in or the design or write the story. To think he alone micro manged everything is a big mistake.

                        • No one knows the inner sanctums of upper management of any studio. So you shouldn’t feel like a blam. The term bleedership does apply with this situation and several others in gaming. Hopefully Sony restructures the dysfunction that has gone on for years.

                        • Great work? Bungie has consistently made mediocre rehashed content for the last few years. Ever since they brought the moon back it’s been the same thing over and over.

                          • Looks like they're gone: Parsons, Smith and Noseworthy. But now, it's getting real interesting, because Sony can be very tough. They also made layoffs with Naughty Dog, who are extremely successful. And, even if they are out now, people like these (Parsons, Smith and Noseworthy) are coming back, because they are strong networked. Bungie is now halted; let's see what Sony makes out of it.

                              • During a period of financial downturn in 2014, Satoru Iwata, the late President of Nintendo, chose to halve his salary to avoid laying off employees. This move was not just a personal sacrifice but a strategic decision to preserve the company's creative talent, which Iwata believed was essential for future success. This famous example of personal leadership doesn't mean Saturo was a great businessman... nor does it make Pete Parsons a bad one. However Pete decides to legally spend his earned disposable income is his right to do so & is none of your concern. No matter how morally reprehensible you find his choice to collect classic sports cars with his money. The games industry as a whole is under immense pressure & companies go bust or are forced into layoffs all the time. It's not just Bungie.
