Add Incandescent to Red Death

To be honest, I haven't used Red Death since it came out during TFS. Partly because the catalyst didn't drop until Act 2. The other reason being that it's a Solar weapon that didn't run with Incandescent. To put it into perspective my Legend Adhortative has a better roll with Enhanced Heal Clip, Enhanced Incandescent, and Nano-Munitions which adds extra ammo when near allies. Red Death heals on kill...big whoop. Catalyst causes massive healing blast...big whoop. Add Incandescent.

  • Big whoop? Are you -blam!- ing kidding? Cure x2 on EVERY KILL and resto x2 to you and everyone else on every other kill?

  • Healing is fine. Not every solar weapon needs incandescent. 🙄

  • Lmao no. Not every solar weapon needs incandescent. Incandescent is a very mediocre perk unless you build HEAVILY into solar (with a few exceptions for ad-clear specials or heavies). The scorch damage is pitiful and has been since Haunted and in most modern content, Bungie has increased how far apart enemies spawn. Ignitions are very rare in most activities and when they do occur, they rarely matter. Unless you’re taking advantage of one of the ability regen on scorch fragments, GPG or Sunspots, Incandescent is a waste of a perk slot. Red Death is THE healing gun. Keep it focused around what it does. Exotics rarely, if ever, focus on more than one Verb. Plus Red Death is very good.

    • The problem is Bungie will read this and decide they need to nerf incandescent “ So we don’t feel like it’s the only option “.

      • Yeah between Adhortative and the new solar auto rifle that heals your allies, I haven't used Red Death much. That said, it's a pretty solid weapon, good in PVP, solid in PVE...having Incandescent on it might make it a little busted.

      • Red death should have been a kinetic weapon! I have plenty of solar guns that heal me already.

      • Homie, no offense but this is such a bad take. In PvE, Cure and Restoration on kills is extremely strong. In PvP it’s already probably the best energy pulse rifle, if not the best pulse. It has Cure on kill, Cure for allies on reload after a final blow, increased reload after a final blow, crazy healing after just two kills on top of the Cure, flinch resist + strafe speed buff + handling buff after taking damage, bonus damage when low health, AND crazy high range and stability. How are you going to tell me it also needs explosions on kill that tap into a keyword too? It does not need any more.

      • Not every weapon needs incandescent. Red death is great at doing exactly what is supposed to, and a pvp powerhouse to boot.

      • Red death is the easiest gun to use, its a monster already in PVE, and in PVP it gives the OEM perk without having to get shot by the guardian….it you care to win in pvp use Red Death Anymore buffs to this and it will become ridiculous

      • You should give weapons a chance before making these posts. Red Death is top tier.

        • You’re tripping. Red death already does so much for the player. It’s full of utility.

        • Yea not impressed with the catalyst at least for PVE. Incandescent would at least make it viable. Otherwise my crafted heal clip/incandescent Adhortative is better for PVE.

          • If they add incandescent it will be too good it’s not meant to be a fantastic weapon that solves all your problems if you don’t want to use it then don’t use it

          • With the Catalyst, it's Restoration x2 on any class and subclass with a very high uptime, even in harder content, and it applies to your allies too. That alone is worth a huge amount. Compared to your Adhortative, it will do much more damage, do a better job of keeping you alive and has better support function. Very much worthy of the Exotic slot, not having Incandescent isn't a problem.

          • Exactly. Haven’t used it much either for the exact same reason. And most solar builds are based around being able to scorch targets.

            • The problem with Red death is that its entire perk is based on kills and in higher level content you’re not slaying out with a pulse rifle.

Archon Priest Of House Light - old

                  Should have been catalyst

                  • The remnant heal seems like overkill. You trigger its heal clip function on reload or kill anyway. Hell, Kill Clip alone would've been better since it has a cracked reload speed to really capitalize on the whole kill>reload theme.
