I’d like Bungie to consider making these improvements to the subclass building UI:
Problem: Whenever you go into the subclass screen, a lot of the most critical information is only displayed in pop-up overlays after you hover on an ability - and you can only ever see the description/effect of one item at a time. Without hovering, you can’t see what abilities you have selected so far unless you remember what all of the icons represent - and many of these icons look very similar. I personally find this really confusing and it takes me a long time to build my classes. I frequently forget which abilities I already selected and what their effects are, and find myself rechecking everything multiple times.
As a user I would like the descriptions of aspects, fragments and abilities that I have selected to be displayed in a full list somewhere on screen (e.g. a side bar). This way I can more easily see everything that I have equipped and decide which abilities to swap out.

Edited by Zodleon: 7/19/2024 4:57:59 AMYeah, the ui needs cleaned up. And while they're at it make the cursor friction on console optional.

Make it togglable because that sounds absolutely awful to look at.

UI was ahead of its time 10 years ago. The game has outpaced it and there’s limited ways to accommodate it now. It’s time for D3.

1 ReplyWith how complex fragments and Aspect can get, the UI would get incredibly crowded if there was a list of all selected abilities, Fragments, and Aspects. You would need an alternate tab. It also doesn’t fix the primary problem, that being the length of time it takes to build, which requires you to go through each aspect and fragment and read what it does. If the selected stuff was the only thing to have a description shown, then it would only fix the memory issue.

There's no possible way they don't know it's really bad UI design, they just don't do anything about it because not enough people complain about it.

Agree. The team in charge of UI is not on top of their game. It seems more like an afterthought for this studio

elitegtryin to work with whats left.. for now - old
good point.. the display now is more artful in approach than functional for a player.. not a dire problem but definitely proper QOL suggestion
