What person in their right mind designs content to a game that pretty much eliminates 75% of their player base, your average player. I have played this game since the start and enjoyed it most of the time. This new season is a total disrespect to the solo player who in most cases is an average player. Even lost sectors present challenges to some of us. You even had some idiot decide to increase the amount of points you need to level up. I solo most of what I do because I found that when I LFG, I usually get the worst kind of people making it hard to enjoy this game. If this continues, you will lose a large portion of your players. At least that is what I am getting from the players I speak and play with.

2 RepliesEdited by Oinkthebaconking: 7/7/2024 1:45:22 PMThey're actually losing across all of the playerbase. Those twit heads that claim to be elite players habitually stop playing as soon they get through the content and get their loot. The only players who actually play all the time are the die hard pvpers, and they tend to rotate between several Battle Royale games as well. Numbers are really low. The new game direction is alienating everyone, including those who claim they like it this way. I like the more challenging strike playlist, but that's about all I like, and that's not enough to keep me here instead of on The First Descendant. Not to mention how Bungie has cut off communication with the playerbase.

20 RepliesYou know what matters to bingle? ESG. DEI. Of which they score very high. Do not attempt to resist.

1 ReplyYa, I really enjoyed the normal campaign. Prismatic is awesome. I was going to play the legendary campaign when it comes up for my gaurdian rank. However, I can't increase my gaurdian rank because of the coop focus mode. I don't mind mandatory group mechanics and very high skill walls for end game content, but rank 8 should be mid/high teir content at most. So, I just wish they'd leave the mandatory group mechanics for end game content. I feel like my journey through the final shape expansion has been prematurely stunted. Also, be careful saying "go play a single player game". Solo players leave and take breaks from destiny for that reason. Other players do the same for different reasons. And sometimes, the game almost dies as a result. Bungie can't bend over backwards for solo players, that's true. However, Bungie can't afford to ignore those players either.

31 RepliesIt still baffles me they don’t cater to their majority casual player base

1 ReplyThe exodus has already begun. There will be a spike in players for Act II and then it’ll just be the diehards left again. Game isn’t fun to replay. Most activities are too mechanic centric. We lack power as the power fantasy has been nerfed to non existence as you cannot over level content. Whatever happened to normal, legendary, & master as in game tiers for difficulty? Structure the rewards appropriately and everyone will be happy. They did it with Nightfalls, could easily have been implemented game wise with the new expansion activities. (They did do this for Breach but not for any of the other Pale Fart activities. ) Nope Bungie decided to raise the floor difficulty of the game and that has turned many many players off.

3 Replieswhat ever group is calling the shots for destiny . have completely screwed this game up . it's cooked and such a mess from difficulty to ad density to timers and bogus mechanics . its a shite show of no fun and weak game play. that you slog through for poor loot or loot that's hidden behind lame game play, that takes to long with weak weapons that are worse in stats and perks then the last season you played. no bounties , lame glimmer system . this game is done put a fork in it.
-
2 Repliesit's not even the dual and trio game forcing. it's more to do with inflated difficulty , mechanics . and pathgrinder, forcing players to do activities they dislike or find no fun. no bounties slow to zero power climbing. long quest with very little reward. bungie has this game trashed. heck I'm running a million gm"s and deleting the AR cause it sucks so bad. l can't see this game making it past the expansion date. there's just to many negative things bungie has done to make the game not worth the grind or worth putting up with anymore.honestly Sony should fire all the ceo's and rid destiny of them.

I’ve been playing First Descendant since it came out. It’s fun and all, mainly because it’s new, but the allure is wearing off. Haven’t gone back to Destiny in over a week, except to sit in orbit for 5 minutes deciding what to do, and then log out. I do everything except raid, and nothing seemed appealing. I had fun with the Dual Destiny mission, but not enough to grind it out. I’m certainly not mindlessly opening chests for extra drops of crap anymore, (got 3 with Eternal warrior on my Titan and called it a day.) I do enjoy crucible, but I just end up running the same couple of builds over and over. First Descendant kinda ruined both games for me lol Side note: can anyone answer a question for me? I know once Episode 2 comes out you can play as quickly or slowly as you want, but once it comes out will I still have access to the story beats in Episode 1? Kinda wanna take a brief intermission for a bit without having to Byf it.

34 RepliesYeah I lost all motivation to play after bungie forced the class items to be exclusive for duos. My friends don’t play this game anymore and im not gonna go out of my way to find someone else.
-
2 RepliesThe game is boring as -blam!- now. It’s why I haven’t played in a few weeks. I think the game is all but dead for me. Which is a shame since a friend purchased the dlc for me.

3 RepliesYep I firmly believe Bungie had some psychologist on their team looking at addiction and habits. When you have good habits (like going to the gym, sports, etc) and have a friend that also does same hobby they keep you motivated, keep you going, call you on days you don't want to work out & convince you to go etc. And the same with "bad habits, if you have bad addiction the Experts say step 1 is to stop hanging out associating with people tempting you, enabling you, etc. Bungie knows this and they want all solo players to be FORCED into relationships, clans, etc. "the endgame of Destiny is Freindgame" or "friendship was the answer all along" etc. You see that stuff all over Destiny "community" They want you addicted, they want your "groups" to nag you to log back in & play, they want you dependent on others so the "vice versa" happens & you will ask your friend to "please log in & help you play" That is their future of the game, as a mostly Solo player I'm disgusted by it. Hopefully more see the truth here.

That is the goal, less people playing, less operating costs. They got their money from the Final Shape now its time to maximize profits, they do enough to keep it alive and ready to hype up when it's time to sell regurgitated content. It is kind of the smartest way to run a live service game. There is a reason launches always suck, it takes time to spin up a bunch of new servers in the cloud.

Edited by Ketogenic_Guardian: 7/11/2024 12:01:06 AMNo not the average player base the main player base have you seen the number for destiny tracker they tracked over 26 million and in the last week now it went down to 600,000 Think about that number is a reflection of how many people log in and how many people play The Game which means that number is probably Shorter than 600,000 in terms of active players who were actively playing The Game on a daily basis... Remember that's what Luke Smith said when he was asked about destiny tracker and that's what he said that number is a reflection of everything when someone logs in logs out plays the game plays crucible leaves a match it's a reflection of all activity..

5 RepliesEdited by Ketogenic_Guardian: 7/11/2024 12:06:10 AMPersonally I think the problem is not final shape it's the damn community people are sick and tired of the immaturity the toxic attitude from people. Ex so many people in this community are against new and returning players and the truth of the matter is the majority of people in the community are new and returning players! Even multiple game journalists have said in the past that bungie needs to do something about the community that they cannot alienate and treat new and returning players like they don't deserve to be here. This is why I believe that we should have a tougher raid version of dual destiny that you can do by yourself. Just like the people I talk to who actually finish dual destiny multiple times they even said that they did it with people that they know in real life so they can avoid this -blam!- up community. Yeah this was from people who have over 100 raid completions for raid and they even said that they're sick and tired of the community toxic hostile attitude! Even though half of the time these toxic players can't even do a -blam!- strike, but then they turned around and blamed someone who had nothing to do with their fail.

1 ReplyOh im just here to watch the fanboys tantrum

The biggest problem is still the same. Bungie has done nothing to improve the core playlist experience. In fact with Pathfinder forcing not only your load out but also your activity choice, they've made it even worse.

Edited by Crota bin Oryx: 7/8/2024 7:28:02 AMThe content is stale... and power fantasy is screwed up since we booted the Witness. The lore feels like 'Joey' spin-off after the 'Friends' 10 years run ended. I am a below average player, and a few seasons back, I wouldn't have tried GMs. This season, I can easily make a build to get to the boss room and die as usual. However, more dedicated players can just get through this very easily. None of the loot, guns, or exotics have a new "wow" factor that I would take over the old stuff. I did the Dual Destiny once and got my "exotic" class item (with 💩 rolls that were not worth the effort). After that, I don't feel like doing it again. What will I grind for more? RNG stuff based class item? I got 2 more from pale heart random chests this weekend, which are equally useless perks. I don't feel the power grind was the right thing to do at this stage of the franchise because running the same repetitive activities for power/pinnacle repeat RNG drops is boring after 10 years. Builds are also annoying now due to champions specific loadout in every high-level activity. You must have a specific weapon type or class perk that limits your play style. After years and years of seasonal artefacts, it gets boring to spend the first few weeks to make a build, which just resets every season. It is tedious and not fun. Yes, there are guides and recommendations out there, but it's a game... we shouldn't need guides to have fun. Even the top YT creators have got boring for me. Do the same raid, carry 2 viewers, and make a build for flawless GM or lost sector... what's the point if it's all for a power grind and stale loot?

4 RepliesI'm with you. I solo all the time, too. I disagree with what others are claiming about D2 being for multiplayers. This game used to have enough content to keep both styles of play interesting. Heck, I even refuse to subscribe to the money grab that tries to force me into a PSN subscription! They've even made it so I can't get items from Xur, anymore. They can choke on their coins! It was fun while it lasted. Warframe and (new) The First Descendant, here I come...

2 RepliesJust on steam not even a month The game went from 314k to 73k That’s light fall numbers and pretty sad

1 ReplyI warned everyone and was attacked for it. Was easy to see Bungie was lost-arking Destiny 2.
-
4 RepliesI think it's a little odd that those who seem to dislike the game the most are also those who play the most or have max level characters and continue to play a game they describe as being terrible. For those who keep playing these "terrible" game. Why?

The only thing super time consuming are raids…

6 RepliesThe Average player is doing all the activities lmao
